Apart from the day of inauguration of the seventh Assembly where members showed a lot of camaraderie, today was another day where the House of Representatives members displayed immense friendship and mutual trust as they reflected on the four-year period they have sat together in the hollow chambers of the House of Representatives in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
During the session, presided over by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Aminu Tambuwal, members expressed with a lot of emotion their experiences in the last four years.
For Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the seventh Assembly witnessed the birth of an independent National Assembly. He says he has learnt a lot from all members of the Assembly, particularly the Speaker whom he describes as a good man and a detribalized Nigerian.
For the Deputy House Leader, Hon Leo Ogor, the Seventh Assembly not only displayed tremendous maturity, but the members always displayed a high sense of responsibility in their discourse of national issues.
The Eighth National Assembly will be inaugurated after the Swearing in of the new administration on Friday.
Present at today’s plenary are: former Speaker, Umar Ghali Na’Abba, other former leaders of the Hallow Chambers and some other invited dignitaries.
