The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, as the winner of last Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Wike polled total of 1 029 102 votes amounting to 87.77 percent to beat Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had 124 896 votes.
The result was announced on Monday morning by the returning officer, Prof. Faraday Orhunmwense. Tonye Princewill of the Labour Party (LP) got 10 142 to come third.
