A new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been posted to Kano State to replace the late REC, Munkaila Abdullahi, who died in a fire incident. Alhaji Hussain Halilu Pai, an indigene of Niger State was redeployed from Kogi State and is expected to supervise tomorrow’s gubernatorial and state Assembly elections.

The late REC, Munkaila Abdul-lahi, who supervised the presidential and National Assembly elections that took place on March 28, died last week in an early morning fire incident that engulfed his residence. His wife and  two children also died in the incident. Spokesperson of INEC in Kano, Garba Lawal Muhammad, confirmed the development to newsmen.
