With estimated box office receipts in the range of $26 to $28 million, “Furious 7” from Universal Studios and Comcast Corp. (NASDAQ: CMCSA) is on track to bust through the $300 million mark for domestic ticket sales in just its third weekend of wide release. The seventh film in the studio’s “Fast & Furious” franchise had posted $273.7 million in ticket sales before the weekend, so a total of $26.3 for the weekend would move “Furious 7” from 69th in the all-time domestic box office ranking to 51st.
