All Tribes Shall Be Equally Represented, Lalong Promises Inclusive Government In Plateau

Simon Lalong, the Governor-elect in Plateau, on Monday said his administration would represent the people, irrespective of their ethnic, political or religious affiliations.

Lalong  told newsmen in Jos that he would also work with his opponents to move the state forward. “This victory is for the entire state, as in this contest, there is no victor, no vanguish. I shall extend a hand of friendship to my key opponent and friend, Senator Gyang Pwajok, so that together we shall build a virile state for the future generation. I shall run an all inclusive government, where all the 52 tribes in the state shall be equally and adequately represented,” Lalong said.

He urged APC supporters,  especially the youths, to celebrate the victory with decorum and warned against harassment, inciting speeches and intimidation. The governor-elect and a former speaker of the State House of Assembly, contested the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
