The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje has raised an alarm over plans by the All Progressives Congress to rig the April 11 governorship poll in the state. Agbaje listed the various ways the APC plans to swing results in favour of its candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Agbaje in statement signed by the Director of Publicity of his campaign organisation, Felix Oboagwina, cited bribing of security officers and electoral officials, cancellation of unduly voided votes, intimidation of the PDP supporters, hijacking of ballot boxes, stuffing of voting boxes, deprivation and delaying of electoral officers and materials to PDP strongholds as some of the methods the APC wants to use to rig the poll.
He noted that the APC has also earmarked a large chuck of money to induced voters and electoral officers, including ad hoc and bonafide staffers manning the polling units, ward, local government and state levels.
