Pupils Use Sports to call for violence-free Elections in Nigeria

As the General Elections draw closer, Primary schools students have urged Nigerians to observe a violence-free elections in Nigeria. Pupils between ages 6 and 13 called out to Nigerians to please avoid any form of violence before, during and after the General Elections which has been slated to hold on March 28 and April 11.
However, both male and female juggled football and engaged in a very light aerobic session before pleading to those who are eligible to vote to allow peace to reign; “Please we are begging our Fathers and Mothers, Uncles and Aunties to please not fight one another because of elections they should secure a good future for us by voting right and not killing one another” Eleven Year old, Daniel Raphael pleaded.
Aishatu Muhammed also pleaded and prayed for a hitch free elections; “We pray to the Almighty Allah that no one will die during the elections, I want us to vote in Peace and let us live in Peace in Nigeria” she said. Organizer of the event, and award winning Sports Journalist and a Social Change campaigner, Ms. Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello said she organized this event for all and sundry to hear the innocent pleas of the school children; “I brought these children together to campaign for peaceful elections, about 58 people are already dead in a pre-election violence, That day will come and go and we will still be here, let us maintain peace;” she concluded.
