The two major opposing parties in Nigeria, All Progressive Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), began their national conventions on Wednesday, 10, December 2014, in Lagos and Abuja respectively.

While APC conducted a transparent primary election that was glaring to the general public, after which General Buhari emerged winner; PDP collectively coronated President Goodluck as sole candidate for the party.
