Financial Implications Brought About Cut Down Of State Ministries – Gov Fayose

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has downsized ministries in the state from 36 to 26.

Fayose said he took the action because of the dwindling finances of the state that could not accommodate 36 ministries.

He stated this at the swearing-in of the new Head of Service, Gbenga Faseluka, four permanent secretaries and one special adviser to the governor

Those appointed as permanent secretaries are Ademiloye Ojo Fasikun, Lawrence Babatope Ojo, Ayodeji Ajiboye and Olabisi Akindele, while the former Head of Service (HoS), Bunmi Famosaya, was sworn-in as Special Adviser, Governor’s Office.

Fayose said: “There are 36 miniseries in Ekiti when I came in but I have to reduce them to 26 because of finance.

“The recent fall in oil price is worrisome and indicates that tough days are ahead.

“Our source of revenue is nose diving and this calls for careful measures.”

Fayose explained that he made the appointments as a way of rewarding loyalty, adding that his government would continue to reward loyalty, which he said is the hallmark of his administration.
