The House of Representatives yesterday failed to sit at plenary a week after resolving to do so on Mondays.
Neither the principal officers nor members appeared for plenary yesterday which should have been the first Monday’ plenary session in line with the House’s new rules.
Journalists waited in vain as the chamber of the House remained shut.Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal had last week told the lawmakers that the measures to change the rules were taken to ensure the House makes “necessary progress” in its deliberations.
The deputy spokesman of the House, Victor Ogene, could not be reached for comment despite several calls put to his phone.
