Police in Gombe State said they have arrested and charged to court 460 criminals who have been terrorising residents of Gombe metropolis in the past two months.
The Commissioner of Police, Kudu A. Nma, made this known while briefing newsmen.
Nma said all the hoodlums were convicted and serving various jail terms. He said the greatest problem facing the command is the fact that youths in the state “take delight in committing crime.”
The commissioner warned youths against political thuggery, saying that anyone caught would be dealt with.
He also lamented the activities of rapists which he said were on the increase.
“Eleven suspects were arrested for alleged rape in some local government areas in the state. The command is investigating the cases and they would be charged to court as soon as we are done.”
