Congratulations to Mr Ayo Fayose, the Governor Elect of Ekiti State.
Congratulations to the PDP, the ruling party of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Congratulations to Mr. President for ruling the affairs of the Presidency excellently well.
Congratulations to the Police, the SSS, SWAT, NSCDC and the Armed Forces for converging in Ekiti this last weekend, you all did a beautiful job.
Congratulations to the People of Ekiti for voting responsibly and sensibly as their rights which is their vote was traded so well and democratically.
I am Haastrup Steven Adeshope and I am a Nigerian.
On Saturday as the results from Ekiti trickled in, I flew into the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to congratulate the President for a job well done and to have a toast to his victory with the President, his aides and the PDP NEC. I was allowed into Aso rock like a prince and I had an audience with Mr. President. I congratulated Mr President and I asked him… So how did you win Ekiti? He replied… It is Simple Steven! It is One Man, One Vote and One Woman One Vote. I smiled and said that was great Mr. President, You are an exemplary leader. He grinned and we cheered with a toast. (Very nice wine, I must confess), then I woke up from my dreams when I heard the scream of a “Goooooaaaaaal” they said was scored by Lionel Messi against IRAN.
I was so angry, so I slept back, to get into my dreams once more, then I got in as if I never left. Then we got talking again, and then I asked… Mr President, Personally, Do you like Mr Fayose than Mr Fayemi, then he replied saying… It’s a party thing, I love PDP and that’s where my Fayose is, so my response is clear Steven (In a tense tone). Then I took the risk of probing further… Mr President, the federal intervention into Ekiti is exemplary, the security presence was like that of war and your Presidential silence was like “I don’t give a Damn”, then Mr President looked at me sternly as he said… “We didn’t want to risk a security issue in Ekiti”, (with Mr Reuben and Reno nodding their heads behind us).
Then I smiled saying Mr President, I so much love your response to my questions, it shows how great you are. I have one advice for you as you prepare to whip the APC in Osun and come 2015, “Ekiti has shown us, Nigerians are not to be pitied. Those shouting on Twitter are wasting their time, Give the people rice and noodles and we would vote you again and again even to a 4th term” and then He replied saying… Before nko? Steven you do well jare.
I smiled happily, saying “Thank You Mr President”! (Jumps out of sleep… panting) and by this time, it was 5 minutes to the match between Nigeria and Bosnia.
Have a great week ahead.
