FC IfeanyiUbah Trophy Parade Gets New Date

FC IfeanyiUbah will on Wdenesday, November 23, 2016 present to the people of Anambra State the Federation Cup which they won last month after a 5-4 penalty kicks triumph over Nasarawa United.

The ceremony was earlier billed to hold three weeks ago, but officials of the Anambra Warriors put the event off for undisclosed reasons.

It is the first national silverware lifted by the club in their two years of existence following a buy-over of Gabros International FC, also of Nnewi.

An official of the club confirmed on Sunday that all logistics have now been put in place for the trophy public show to hold on Wednesday.

“The trophy parade will hold on Wednesday,” our reliable source informs.

“It’s not restricted to Nnewi alone but throughout Anambra State.

“This is the first time a club from this state won the Federation Cup, the oldest cup competition in Nigeria.”

FC Ifeanyiubah lifted the giant trophy in their first final appearance and will go on to represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup competition along with Wikki Tourists of Bauchi who finished third in the Nigeria Professional Football League behind winners, Enugu Rangers and runners-up, Rivers United.

Nigerian Students win N1.4m in Facebook hackathon challenge.

250 young, talented students from across the country participated in a hackathon challenge at the CyberXchange conference sponsored by Facebook and over a million naira was awarded to the winning teams.

The students were placed into groups and each group had a presentation, putting forward their solutions to the judges who were Yemi Saka of Ernst and Young, Babafemi Ogungbamila of Interswitch Limited, Regina Wallace-Jones of Facebook, and Bankole Oluwafemi of Techcabal.com

The team that emerged overall winner impressed the judges and audience by coming up with multi-factor authentication for a large enterprise to help secure the accounts of their employees.

The winning team was awarded N700, 000, the second-place team received N400,000 while the third place team received N300,000.

Regina Wallace-Jones, head of security operations at Facebook, and a judge at the hackathon said: “The competitors worked tirelessly to create their solutions, and we were inspired by their dedication and passion for security.

“Encouraging this kind of talent is important to the future of the security industry, and that is why we met with several university professors at CyberXchange to talk about how to continue to strengthen security curriculum and training”, Regina added.

Mayweather Mocks Pacquiao, Says ‘Winners Win, Losers Have Excuses’

Mayweather posted a picture on his account today, writing: “19 years in the fight game and I’ve had one excuse: “Don’t have an excuse”. Winners win and losers have excuses.”

The post has emerged following a report that Mayweather has agreed to give Pacquiao a rematch next year. The unbeaten American is said to have told an ESPN journalist Stephen A. Smith that we would be willing to fight Pacquiao again – once he recovers from shoulder surgery to repair a tear in his rotator cuff.

“I will fight him in a year after his surgery,” Mayweather is reported to have told Smith in a text message.
