Housewife docked for allegedly stabbing husband’s lover

A housewife, Amudat Shosanya, was on Wednesday charged before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing her husband’s lover with a broken bottle.

Shosanya, 39, who resides at Jebba Street in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, is facing a charge of assault.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Mariam Dauda, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 13 at about 11.27 a.m., at Jebba Street in Ebute Meta.

She alleged that the accused stormed the house of the complainant, one Remilekun Adeshina, and stabbed her.

“The accused and her husband had a misunderstanding and out of anger she went to Adeshina’s house and stabbed her all over her body, accusing her of being the reason her husband was hostile to her,” he said.

The offences contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs Helen Omisore, granted the accused bail in the sum of N10, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to Jan. 12 for mention

Barber jailed 18 months for stabbing boy in Lagos.

An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday sentenced a barber, Waheed Bello, to 18 months imprisonment for stabbing and injuring a man on his back with a knife.

Bello of Diala St., Mile 12 market area, Lagos, pleaded guilty to the charge of assault occasioning harm with another at large and asked the court to temper justice with mercy.

Delivering her judgment, the Magistrate, Mrs. O. S. Amzat, advised the convict to turn a new leaf while in prison, after sentencing him with no option of fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Ihiehie Lucky told the court that the offence was committed around noon on Nov. 22 at Diala St. in Mile 12 area of Lagos.

Lucky said the complainant, a sales boy, reported the incident at the Mile 12 Police Station on Nov. 22.

“The complainant reported that on that fateful day, he was at Diala St. when the convict and his friend accosted him, forcefully, demanding for money.

“He asked them what money they were talking about and before he knew it, they held his trouser pocket trying to remove his money.

“He hit the convict’s friend who fell down and when they found out that they couldn’t withstand him, the accused snatched the knife of a roadside butcher and stabbed him on the back,” he said.

Lucky said that the complainant immediately fell down and the convict took his N9,000 from his pocket, as well as his N14,500 Samsung phone and ran away with his friend.

He said that some members of the public later helped the complainant to apprehend and arrest the convict.

The prosecutor said the offence committed contravened sections 409, 404 and 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Benin: Pastor Stabs Wife To Death, Leaves Ten Questions Behind

Crack team of detectives from the Edo state Police Command are hunting for a Pastor identified as Henry Ojochunu Ekukpe, who allegedly stabbed his 29 year old wife to death in the presence of their six year-old baby, leaving a note containing ten questions he expected his late wife to answer.

 

It was learnt that Henry who got married to Patience in 2014 has been having issues that forced the deceased out of his house months ago.

 

The run away Pastor is said to Pastor in one of the branches of Mountain of Victory and Fire Deliverance Ministry in Benin City.

 

It was learnt that trouble started last Sunday when the Pastor invited the deceased for a dialogue under the guise that he wants her back to the house.

 

It was learnt that when the deceased came, the Pastor used a hidden knife to stab her in different parts of her body and escaped from the area. The police found a note containing ten questions meant for the late woman.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Osifo who confirmed the incident described it as “tragic and barbaric” and vowed that the police would ensure the culprit was arrested and brought to book.

 

Some of the questions contained in the note includes

“Have we ever in life went to beg for food ever since we got married?

“Has you mother ever brought food for us to eat one day because of hunger?

“Have I not told you at the beginning that I hate someone insulting me?

“In the first place, did you really come out with your own full mind?

“Did you come to marry me because of money or for who I am?

“Who gave you the order to pack your property away from our home?

“Who is your adviser in this marriage that is polluting your mind against me?

“You always pray that God should help you to eat the fruit of your labour?

“So no man has the power to take one’s life but today we are going together. So how do you feel now?”

Student Stabs Colleague To Death In Kano

A student of First Grade College in Kano, Sadik Ado-maje, has stabbed his colleague, Usman Salisu, to death.

 

An eyewitness told the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano on Thursday that the incident happened around 11am on Wednesday.

 

According to the witness, the incident happened during a fight that ensued between the deceased’s brother and Ado-maje at the school gate.

 

The witness added that the deceased, who was transferred to another school to complete his SSS studies, was in the school to collect his JSS 3 Placement Examination result.

It was learnt that when he reached the school area, he met his brother in an ensuing fight with Ado-maje and decided to settle the quarrel between them.

 

The intervention of Salisu angered the suspect (Ado-maje), who thought that he intervened in the matter in favour of his brother, when he quickly stabbed him with a knife in his stomach.

 

Salisu was rushed to the hospital where he was later confirmed dead.

 

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kano State Command, DSP Magaji Majiya, confirmed the incident.

 

He said the suspect ran away but was later apprehended, adding that “the suspect is now cooling his feet at the Kwalli Police Division.”

 

 

Majiya said as soon as investigations were completed, the suspect would be charged to court.
