India Bans James Bond Movie, Spectre, Over Long Kissing Scenes

The Mumbai-based Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reined in the fictional British spy’s famously lusty romantic life by cutting the length of two passionate embrace scenes, its chairperson told AFP.

“We have reduced them,” CBFC head Pahlaj Nihalani said, referring to separate kissing scenes between Daniel Craig, who plays Bond, and his co-stars Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux. “Our work is for censoring the movie according to the rating of the film so we have done that,” Nihalani said of “Spectre”, which hits screens in India on Friday.

Nihalani said the film had been given an unrestricted adult rating, which means parental guidance is required for children under 12 years old. A source at Sony Pictures Entertainment confirmed to newsmen that the edits had been made. “Two kissing scenes have been reduced by a few seconds,” the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity, adding that two swear words had also been deleted.

Nihalani said the film’s promoters had the right to object to the edits but had not done so. However, It’s the country that gave the world the Kama Sutra.

Duchess Of Cambridge Goes Braless For World Premiere Of Spectre

With a host of Bond Girls to compete with, the Duchess of Cambridge turned on the glitz at the world premiere of the new 007 film Spectre tonight.

Appearing to go braless, Kate dazzled in a bespoke diaphanous pale blue full-length gown by her go-to evening wear designer, Jenny Packham.

The elegant dress featured a crossover chiffon front and modest V-neck while the delicate draping at the back of the gown flashed a hint of Kate’s lower back.

Daniel Craig Becomes ‘Highest-Paid’ James Bond Actor Ever As He Earns $60m For ‘Spectre’ Movie

Daniel Craig is the highest-paid James Bond star ever as the Spectre action hero is said to be in line to earn around £39million for his role in 007’s latest adventure.

According to The Sun, the actor’s deal for his salary and profit share is worth more than the combined earnings of all the men to take on the role.A source close to MGM said:

Daniel’s deal means he’ll bank $24million (£15.66m) for acting, around $6million (£3.82m) for endorsements and $30million (£19.58m) if the financial projections are on course.”Even taking inflation into account he is by far the highest paid Bond actor.”

Craig’s predecessor Pierce Brosnan is said to be in second place with £24.4million across his four films, whilst George Lazenby pulled in just £34,000 for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

However, he says his deal with Bond series is done. When asked if he would film another, the actor said

Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists.
“No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”

Fans are clamouring for Idris Elba to take over!

Idris Elba Denies James Bond Reports: ‘It’s Just A Rumour, I Have No Idea’

Idris Elba has denied any truth behind reports that he is in line to play the first black James Bond.

The Luther star has previously joked about “being handsome enough” to take on the 007 role, but has now said the reports are entirely speculative.

When asked about being neck and neck with Damian Lewis at the bookies to replace Daniel Craig, the actor told the Radio Times: “It’s just a rumour. I have no idea.”

Pierce Brosnan and Kanye West are among the high profile names who have backed Elba for the role, with the former 007 actor saying Elba “would make a good Bond”.

The actor has been rumoured to play the British spy for a number of years, but his name resurfaced again in 2014  when a hacked Sony email revealed the company thought the actor “should be the next Bond”.

The actor responded to the leaked email in a tweet, saying he was “glad you think I’ve got a shot!”

Elba has previously said he would definitely accept the role if it was offered to him.

In a Reddit AMA in September 2014 he said he would “absolutely” accept the role if it “was offered to me” after being asked by a fan.

Daniel Craig, who is currently filming the forthcoming Bond film Spectre, is signed to do one more movie after its release. He has previously said he would like to leave the franchise afterwards.

“I’ve been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it. But they won’t let me go, and I’ve agreed to do a couple more, but let’s see how this one does, because business is business,” he told Rolling Stone two years ago.

James Bond Film Adds New, Younger Bond Girl.

When the cast for Spectre — the upcoming 24th James Bond film — was announced, the film made headlines for adding Monica Bellucci, 50, as the franchise’s oldest Bond girl. At 50, Bellucci is just three years older than Bond himself — Daniel Craig is 47 years old.

Now, the film is going in the opposite direction by adding 28-year-old Stephanie Sigman. The budding Mexican actress will play Estrella, a mysterious new woman in Bond’s life.
