I speak with my brother every day, says Buhari’s only sister.

Hajiya Rakiya, the only surviving elder sister of President Muhammadu Buhari, has appealed to Nigerians to continue to pray for the well-being of the president, instead of spreading rumours about his health.

In an interview with NAN in Daura, Katsina state, the 84-year-old woman said her brother needs the prayers of every Nigerian for him to succeed in the task of addressing the problems facing the nation.

She said he as a human being, he is bound to fall ill or even die “at any time his Creator wishes’’.

Rakiya said since January when he departed to London, she has been speaking with the president every day, and that he is in high spirit.

“I just returned from the lesser Hajj, and even while in Saudi Arabia, I was communicating with him every day,” Rakiya popularly called Amadodo, told NAN.

She said in Saudi Arabia, she communicated with him “every ten hours”.

“We were 28 from our mother late Hajiya Zulaihatu who died in 1992, but Buhari was her last born,” she said.

A cross section of the people in the ancient city, who spoke with NAN, expressed displeasure over rumours about the president’s health.

Abdulrahman Daura, north-west organising secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the false reports as “baseless and unfounded”.

Daura said Buhari is in good health and is only conducting a routine medical checkup in the United Kingdom.

He advised the president’s opponent to be always constructive and avoid campaign of hate and calumny.

Similarly, Aminu Na-Dari, an ally of the president, said he has also been in constant touch with Buhari since his departure and their conversation did not in anyway indicate that he is having any health challenge.

A group of students from the School of Health Technology, Daura, described the rumour as unfortunate and asked the National Association of Nigerian Students to issue a statement condemning the rumour.

Aminu Mohammed, spokesperson of the students, called on Nigerians to always think and act positive, saying Buhari has started the reform of correcting the ills of the nation, and corruption had started fighting back.

He urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the nation and “safe return of Mr president”.

Men Are Scum: My husband impregnated my sister twice, wife tells court.

A 55-year-old trader, Saidat Abu, on Thursday told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos that her husband was a flirt who impregnated her younger sister on two occasions.

She said this while responding to a suit filed by her husband, Momodu, alleging threat to his life by his wife.

Mrs. Saidat, who alleged that her husband did not only commit adultery but incest, said: “My husband was having an affair with my sister, he impregnated her and aborted the pregnancy on two occasions.

“I decided not to fight him in order to save my marriage.”

The mother of two also described her husband as a wicked and callous man.

“My husband took me to the hospital and connived with the doctor to remove my womb so that I will not be pregnant again.

“After destroying my womb, he is now telling me that he wants to marry another woman so that he can have a son that will inherit his property.

“He also told me he wants to sell our house so that he can settle our daughters and rent an apartment for me before he moves on with his life,” she said.

She begged the court not to grant her husband’s request, saying she was still in love with him.

“Who will marry me now after my husband has destroyed my womb? Please do not grant his request, ” she said.

Her husband, a 60-year-old businessman, had approached the court to end his 33-year-old marriage over his wife’s alleged fetish act.

“My wife is fetish; I came back from work one day and discovered a potion in my compound was cemented.

“I was curious to know what was buried in the ground, so I called my people and we dug the ground and saw a charm buried there.

“My wife wanted to kill me so that she can inherit my property,” he said.

The petitioner presented as evidence pictures of the buried charm.

Momodu also said his wife did not cook or wash his clothes.

“My wife cannot do any house chore; I am married but living like a single man, I can no longer tolerate her,” he said.

He further accused his wife of inscribing “This house is not for sale ” on the wall of his house without his consent.

The petitioner urged the court to terminate the marriage, saying he was fed up.

The court’s president, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, after listening to the couple, adjourned the case till Feb. 7 for further hearing.

Why I Killed My Sister To Defend Our Family’s Honour

For two months, over the thunder of machines at the steel mill, the men taunted Mubeen Rajhu about his sister. Even now, they laugh at how easy it was to make him lose his temper.

Some people had seen Tasleem in their Lahore slum with a Christian man. She was 18, a good Muslim girl, out in public with a man. Even though the man had converted to Islam out of love for her, this couldn’t be allowed.

“Some guys got to know that his sister was having a relationship,” says Ali Raza, a co-worker at the mill. “They would say: ‘Can’t you do anything? What is the matter with you? You are not a man.’”

Raza can barely contain a smile as he talks about the hours spent needling Rajhu.

“He used to tell us, ‘If you don’t stop, I will kill myself. Stop!’” Raza says.

He raises his voice to compete with the sounds of the coal-powered mill, and workers blackened by its dust gather to listen. They too smile. A few laugh at the memory of Rajhu’s outbursts.

“The guys here told him, ‘It would be better to kill your sister. It is better than letting her have this relationship,’” Raza says.

Rajhu told them he had bought a pistol, and one day in August he stopped coming to work.

Rajhu discovered that his sister had defied the family and married the Christian. For six days he paced. His rage grew. How could she?

He watched her laughing on the phone, ignoring their mother’s pleas to leave the man.

On the seventh day, he retrieved the pistol from where he had hidden it and walked up to his sister. With one bullet to the head, he killed her.

For generations now in Pakistan, they’ve called it “honor” killing, carried out in the name of a family’s reputation.

Woman Kidnaps Her Sister’s Daughter Over N30, 000 In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a Ghanaian, Enyolam Believe, for allegedly kidnapping her niece in the Ikotun area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Believe, who had been living in Lagos for the past 17 years, conspired with her friend, Agatha Aigbomiam, to commit the crime last Tuesday.

The eight-year-old victim was alleged to have been kidnapped on her way to school and taken to Ogun State by Aigbomiam.

The victim was said to have raised the alarm which drew the attention of residents, leading to the arrest of both suspects.

A police source said 43-year-old Believe and the victim’s mother had searched for the child, including reporting a case of missing person at a police station.

He said, “The suspect and the girl’s mother are sisters. Believe, however, colluded with her friend, Aigbomiam, to abduct the girl so that she could make money from the mother.

“Their plan was that the friend would kidnap the child and hide her somewhere in Ogun State, while she would negotiate the ransom with the mother on the phone.

“When the girl went missing, the girl’s mother called her and they both searched for the girl. She even suggested that they should report the case to the police. The mother never suspected that she was behind the kidnap.”

The source said while people were looking for the girl, the suspect was also trailing the movement of her friend and the victim on the phone.

He said the kidnapped girl, while in captivity, raised the alarm that Aigbomiam was not her mother and called for help from some Ogun residents, who came to her aid.

The matter was said to have been reported to a community leader, who invited the police.

The source said, “When the police discovered that Aigbomiam was not alone in the crime and she was receiving calls from Believe, they decided to play along. They asked her to invite Believe to Ogun State.
“It was when she arrived that the police arrested her.

The case was subsequently transferred to Lagos State where the offence was committed. That was where the mother of the girl saw that her own sister was behind her ordeal.”

The suspects, who were paraded before journalists at the police command headquarters in Ikeja on Thursday, confessed to the crime.

Believe said she hoped to make N30,000 from the kidnap, adding that she needed the money for a business.

She said, “I have my own children. I needed money badly that time and I thought of different ideas, which didn’t work. So, I decided to kidnap my sister’s daughter and demand N30,000 ransom from her. I involved my friend because I didn’t want to be the one to take the girl from school. I don’t know what came over me.”

Aigbomiam, a 42-year-old trader from Ekpoma, Edo State, said Believe asked her to kidnap the victim after she returned from a surgery in Benin.

“She said she wanted to use the girl to collect some money from her sister. She just showed me the girl’s school and I kidnapped her around 7.30am on Tuesday, while she was going to school. I took her to my relative’s house in Ogun State. I was stupid for doing such a thing.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, while advising parents and guardians to be vigilant over their children and wards, said the suspects would be arraigned in court at the end of investigation.

Usain Bolt And Girlfriend Will Not Split,He Loves Her Too Much’-Sprinter’s Sister Reacts To Photos Of Him With Other Women

Usain Bolt and his girlfriend will not split up after photos of the Olympic hero with another woman surfaced, his sister has revealed.
Bolt’s big sister, Christine Bolt-Hylton, 32, has said that Usain Bolt and his girlfriend Kasi Bennett, 26, are a solid couple and will stay together because they are so in love.

Brazilian student Jady Duarte, 20, shared pictures which appear to show her kissing and cuddling Bolt after his 30th birthday bash in Rio.And further photos of Usain kissing and dancing with a third girl also came to light yesterday morning.

Speaking from her hometown of St Andrews near Kingston, Jamaica, Christine said:

‘I’m sure Kasi will be used to it by now. She is used to seeing pictures like this.’People ask for pictures with him and he is always willing to have pictures. She is used to him being in the public domain.”I don’t think anything happened between him and the Brazilian girl,’ she added of the snaps with Jady. He loves Kasi too much to jeopardise the relationship.’I’m looking at the pictures and it doesn’t look like he was doing anything with her.’

Asked if Kasi will be upset, Christine, who is Usain’s half-sister, continued:

‘The pictures are of a young girl. I know she will be upset. But she will talk to him and I know they can work their difficulties out.’Usain doesn’t believe in cheating. Normally when we speak he sees he is against stuff like that. He has never done this before as far as I know.

‘When he was much younger he was popular with the girls but from when they have been together he hasn’t done anything like that. If they were together as she is saying they were, I think she had planned for her to take the photographs and expose him for ‘cheating’.’

Asked if her little brother should apologise, Christine said:

‘Kasi was definitely OK with the party pictures. The pictures with the girl he should definitely apologise for.He would never cheat. He was brought up by his parents never to do such things.

‘He was brought up in a Christian home and his mother doesn’t support that lifestyle. So I don’t think he would ever cheat.’I think Kasi will talk to him and they will make a decision about what to do together.’Speaking from personal experience and being close to him, he is definitely objected to cheating.’I do think that Kasi and Usain will work on past whatever it was and move on with their lives.’He has got to be careful because of his actions.’

3 Year Old Accidentally Shoots Dead His 9 Year Old Sister With Great-Grandfather’s Gun

A nine-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the head by her three-year-old little brother over the weekend, authorities say.
Police in Alabama say Irondale third grader Kimi Reylander was critically wounded Saturday before being rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Kimi was reportedly shot after her brother found their great-grandfather’s gun on a nightstand in his home.

“It appears to be a tragic accident,” Irondale Police Chief Ken Atkinson told AL.com.

Upon hearing the gunshot, the great-grandfather, Joel Watson, ran to the bedroom.

“I came in and when I came in the door, my son came out and said she had been shot,” he told WIAT.

Watson said he left the firearm out without knowing his great-grandchildren were coming to visit.
Atkinson called the incident another sad lesson in firearm safety and urged gun owners to keep their weapons out of sight at all times.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral expenses.
According to the Washington Post, Kimi is the fifth person to be hurt in an accidental shooting by a toddler since Jan. 1. Also this year, at least four toddlers have accidentally shot themselves.

Lagos Lawyer In Street Fight Over Late Father’s Property, Blinds Sister In The Process

A woman, Mrs. Ifeoluwa Oluwaloseyitan (nee Alalade), has lost her right eye after she was allegedly attacked with a plank by her step-brother Mr. Olusegun Alalade, over their late father’s estate on Ladipo Oluwole Avenue, off Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos.

Olusegun, who is a lawyer and his brother, Babasanjo Alalade, were said to have led some hoodlums to their father’s estate on Sunday, November 1, wielding cutlasses, among other weapons.

Punch Metro learnt that Ifeoluwa, her husband, Pastor Abraham Oluwaloseyitan; and her two elder brothers – Tunde and Kolawole – had been to the estate to inspect the painters working on one of the apartments therein.

Punch Metro gathered that Kolawole, who works in Abuja, had embarked on the renovation of the flat for him to be staying there whenever he came to Lagos.

Our correspondent learnt that they were about to leave the premises when the lawyer and his accomplices unleashed terror on them. Apart from the woman, the pastor was slashed in the head with a machete while Kolawole and others were also injured. But Tunde escaped unhurt.

It was learnt that a surgical operation was done on Ifeoluwa on Thursday to prevent the ‘ruptured’ eye from being infected.

One of the doctors treating her at the Lagos State University Hospital where she was admitted to confirmed to our correspondent shortly before the operation that the eye had become blind.

He said, “The trauma has ruptured the eye. The surgery we want to do is just to prevent infections. But medically, she can’t see with the eye.”

Narrating the incident to our correspondent, Ifeoluwa said Olusegun beat her severely and left her for dead.

She said, “It all started on Saturday when his younger brother, Babasanjo, used a machete to inflict wounds on a step-brother, Shola, in the palm inside our father’s estate. Babasanjo was arrested by the police from Man Centre Police Station but was released that same day. The lawyer was boasting before the policemen that he would deal with all of us.

“On Sunday, we went to the property to see the painters working on it. I was reading a magazine beside the gate when I saw the painters rushing out. I was approaching them to know what was wrong when Olusegun smashed a big plank on my forehead. He was hitting me, shouting ‘I will kill all of you’. He stopped when I pretended I was dead.”

Her husband, Pastor Abraham, said he wanted to rescue his wife when Babasanjo attacked him with a cutlass.

He said, “I moved her away from them (Olusegun and Babasanjo). Suddenly, they started clubbing me in the head. It was when two policemen came that they stopped beating me. Between Sunday evening and today (Thursday), I have spent over N200, 000 on her treatment alone. She is blind in one eye and her nose is affected too.”

Kolawole, one of Ifeoluwa’s step-brothers, accused the police of not handling the matter properly.

He said, “I am going to petition the Inspector-General of Police on this matter. Why would they release persons who attempted to kill? We are not happy with the way the matter is being handled by the police. It was because Babasanjo was released on Saturday that he was able to attack us on Sunday.”

Another brother, Tunde, said Olusegun had been ‘fraudulently’ administering their father’s property within and outside the state since he died in 2008, without giving them any share of the income.

But the lawyer denied attacking the victims. He said the apartment was under lock and key when Kolawole gained entry into it without his consent.

He said, “Tunde’s claims are not true. They were the ones that attacked me and I was injured in the head. I don’t know about the hoodlums and how Ifeoluwa got injured.

“They have been warned by the police to keep away from the estate. I just ejected a tenant from that place last month and locked the room. What was their mission on that premises on a Sunday? After all, they have sued me and my sibling.”

When contacted on the phone, Babasanjo simply told our correspondent that the squabble over the property “is already in court.”

One of the painters, Ayoola Henry, described the attack as ‘bloody’ saying he witnessed the incident from where he hid.

He said, “We were done with our work when Mr. Babasanjo, the lawyer and some people came with weapons and started attacking everybody. I ran to a corner but my partner was slightly injured in the leg. The lawyer was saying ‘I will kill everybody’. I am not sure whether it was the lawyer or Babasanjo that injured the woman (Ifeoluwa) because I was in shock.”

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, DSP Joe Offor, said he had yet to be briefed on the matter.

He said, “The officer in charge of the case is receiving treatment in a hospital. I will get back to you.”

Offor, however, had yet to do so as of press time.

Honduras Beauty Queen & Sister Buried in Honduras

Grieving family members laid to rest a beauty queen and her sister amid drenching rains Thursday, pleading for divine justice after the women were shot to death in what police say was a jealous rage by the sister’s boyfriend.

Miss Honduras, 19-year-old Maria Jose Alvarado, and her sister Sofia, 23, were interred in two cement graves at a tiny cemetery in this hamlet north of their hometown of Santa Barbara. About 300 people, including mourners and security forces, trudged through the mud for the ceremony.

The bodies had been delivered to the family home before dawn, but a sustained downpour prevented the graves from being dug for hours. Their mother wept as she kissed the two caskets adorned with flowers. Maria Jose’s coffin was also draped with her beauty queen sash.

“We are going to miss you; you will live in our hearts forever. You have gone to reunite with our father in heaven. He awaits you and will care for you there,” said 26-year-old Corina Alvarado, the victims’ elder sister. “Only God can punish those killers as they deserve.”
