Waziri Responds To Ribadu’s Accusation Of Frustrating Corruption Fight

Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mrs Farida Waziri has challenged her predecessor in the commission Malam Nuhu Ribadu to give account of billions of funds and assets recovered from suspects under his watch as EFCC boss and stop using her name for cheap political cards.

A statement signed by her Personal Assistant, Ms Omolara Oluremi on Saturday quotes Mrs Waziri as saying Ribadu had accused her of being ‘’part of his imaginary enemies who frustrated the nation’s anti-graft war’’.

‘’My first inclination was to ignore Nuhu since I know he is always obsessed with dropping my name into his script anytime he needs public pity or political relevance but on a second thought I felt I should advise him to leave me out of his frustrations and face life.

‘’If after eight years of being removed as EFCC Chairman, he is yet to move on with life, even after two successive Chairmen had occupied the same seat and moved on with their lives, then his problem may be psychogenic’’ she alleged.

According to her ‘’it was Ribadu’s lust for power, inordinate ambition and desperation for political relevance that continue to push him to dine and wine, and even enjoy the wealth of those he had labeled as corrupt in yesteryears’’.

She advised Ribadu to ‘’stop being a weeping man’’, saying garrulity does not heal frustration or depression.

Michelle Obama Responds To Those Who Want Her To “Run For President” (WATCH VIDEO)

In light of this truly unprecedented election, many of those devastated with the results have openly expressed their belief that only one person is capable of saving the U.S. when Donald Trump is up for re-election in 2020: Michelle Obama.

But while the first lady has made it clear on multiple occasions she has no intentions of running for president, that hasn’t stopped her millions of fans from hoping and praying that she’ll change her mind. And it seems she might at least finally be softening up just slightly to the idea: When a random fan shouted “run for president!” during an event for veteran homelessness at the White House on Monday, rather than immediately shut it down as per usual, she instead laughed and said… Watch Video below:

Charlyboy Responds To Pastor Adeboye’s Marriage Advice

Trailing the controversial marriage pep talk by Pastor Adeboye that trended like wildfire on social media, Area Fada, aka CharlyBoy, bares his opinion, which he shared on his website  titled

http://charlyboy.me/must-you-marry/

The post reads:

“For the past few days, pastor Adeboye’s advice to youths on marriage have been trending all over the place. I suspect that the good pastors yarns tells me that he is a man suspended in time, between old and new school. Don’t get it twisted, in as much as I flow with his definition of a good woman, from his statement I see that the obvious way to his heart is through his stomach and of cause through prayers. Good, No wahala.

However our amiable pastor rubs it in when he starts to yarn Akpata, ” Marry a warrior, if a girl cannot pray for one hour, don’t marry her. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy, who cannot cook. She needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to eat out at all times” Hummm na wa! Really? Seriously?

So if my wife to be can’t rant, chant, shout and generally carry on as a prayer warrior, praying for a whole hour, the woman doesn’t deserve a wife status. Abi?

Oga pastor, that one na missyarn. Over praying does not make one a better husband or wife, because the world especially Naija is filled with Fake people and “Fakest” pastors. Does a man having a job guarantee that he will make a good husband? Does a woman knowing how to cook guarantee she will make a good wife? Haba.

Ok I get it, The Nigerian god has an ear infection, so we must shout and pray for hours because that’s the only way he may listen to our prayers, right? I know that a man is suppose to marry a helper and not a cook or a house girl. By the way, is anything wrong with encouraging your young male congregation to learn how to cook and do chores too.

“Do not marry a worldly lady” what the heck does that mean? Is it about being materialistic or just being fashionable, looking nice. I guess in your book we can’t be a good Christian if we got swagg and we are trendy. Judge not pastor. We must all not look like Deeper Life people to have a personal relationship with God. By the way, if you want to start writing your own commandment you may as well write your own version of the bible for your congregation. Na una way.

Being married should never define a man or a woman. Marriage in a few years anyways, will be out of fashion. Being married is only nice if we are lucky to pick a partner who will be our friend, if not, that maybe hell on earth. All of us must not get married if our threshold for nonsense and garbage is low. The world is obviously changing and we are no longer in the 60s. Who wants to be suffering and smiling. Most importantly marriage should not be a milestone for anyone. Yes o.

Like I always say, it will take two to tango. Marriage only works when partners are determined to make it work. It can never be a merit badge, or a status for happiness. Many of us are enslaved in our myopic mindset that makes a mess out of what should really be a good friendship. So Oga pastor Adeboye, watch your yarns because a lot of people lookup to you, Biko. I don talk my own.”

Obanikoro Responds To EFCC Probe Of Sons Over Alleged N4.8billion Fraudulent Payment

The immediate past Minister of State, Foreign Affairs Musiliu Obanikoro has challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to sincerely publish the names of the directors and signatories to the Sylvan McNamara Limited account that allegedly received N4.8billion from the office of the National Security Adviser.

In a statement circulated on his behalf by his media aide, Jonathan Eze, Mr. Obanikoro said the EFCC should provide details of the real signatories to the account “as at when the said money was paid instead of demonising and deceiving Nigerians with vague, contrived and distorted information”.

“Obanikoro is appalled by the public political persecution embarked upon by these agencies noting that there is nowhere in the world where investigations are being conducted using the pages of the newspapers,” the statement said.

The former minister also “queried the wisdom and logic of bandying figures and associating same with his sons who are thorough bred professionals in their own rights reminding them that the court of law is and remains the judicial institution for trying cases and not whipping sentiments in order to give the dog a bad name and hang it.”

Saying he served the nation in various capacities with enviable and untainted records of public service, Mr. Obanikoro urged the EFCC to be straight and above board in its investigations and avoid speculations and conjectures that are infringing on the fundamental human rights of his sons.

The statement reads in parts, “Associating my sons to the Sylvan McNamara account that allegedly received funds from the office of the embattled National security Adviser is highly preposterous and unthinkable.

“I am particularly amazed by the fact that trials and investigations are being done using the media unconventionally just to satisfy the cravings of political entities who are desperate to rub my hard earned reputation in the mud.

“I am using this medium to challenge … the EFCC to publish in good conscience the signatories and the names of the directors of the said company and to restate that I shall conclusively pursue this injustice and infringements to a logical end.”

Soyinka Responds To Rivers Govt’s Call For His Probe Over N82 Million Dinner

Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has responded to claims by the Rivers State government that its former governor, Rotimi Amaechi, spent N82 million to organize a dinner in his honour.

In a statement, Wednesday, Mr. Soyinka said the “unprecedented call” for his probe was a form of corruption fighting back.

“This morning, I saw only the headlines in one or two print media regarding the 80th Birthday dinner to which I was hosted by the former governor of Rivers State, the Honorable Rotimi Amaechi, now Minister of Aviation,” said Mr. Soyinka.

“I ignored them. It was not, and remains not my business to probe into the catering and logistical implications of the hundreds of institutions and governments all over the world to whom I acknowledge an immense debt of unsolicited recognition over the years.

“Since then however, I have learnt of some unsavory statements by the insecure incumbent of the Rivers State government Lodge. These included a loose invitation to anti-crime agencies to investigate the potential crime of being honoured through any occasion.”

Senate Responds To Procurement Of N4.7billion Cars Report For 109 Senators

The Nigerian Senate has responded to an exclusive report exposing its plan to illegally spend an estimated N4.7 billion on exotic cars for its President, Bukola Saraki, and 108 other members.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Aliyu Abdullahi, on Sunday, the upper legislative chamber claimed the vehicles being procured were for committee assignments.

“The vehicles are not meant for individual Senators,” Mr. Abdullahi said. “They are purchased for the use of the committees.”

Mr. Abdullahi did not explain the kind of committee work that demands each of our 109 senators to have individual cars.

He also did not say what the Senate plans to do with the 11 cars that would be left after the 120 cars are distributed to Senators.

Committees of the National Assembly are known to travel for oversight duties in buses, and not in individual cars.

Those who should know have said that the purchase of the cars in the guise of buying it for committees is a ploy to circumvent the monetisation policy of government which forbids the purchase of official cars for public officials.

Pastor Chris Okotie Responds To Emeka Ike’s Marriage Crisis Allegation

Pastor of the Household of God Church, Lagos, Chris Okotie, has described an allegation levelled against him by Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, that he is responsible for the crisis rocking his marriage, as rubbish.

Ike had, in a statement on Thursday, accused Okotie of stalling efforts he is making to save his marriage with Suzanne.

Trouble started in Ike’s home recently, when the wife accused him of assaulting her. While the actor has repeatedly denied this, the woman is said to have filed for a divorce in a Lagos court.

Ike alleged that instead of Okotie, who he claimed to have admitted Suzanne to his church, to intervene in the matter, he was encouraging her to pursue the case.

He also claimed that the pastor gave the woman N500,000 to hire a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Presidency Responds To Jonathan’s Ex Ministers

In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam  Garba Shehu, the Presidency asked the Association of Ex-Jonathan Ministers to do a bit of self-reflection on the sort of government they handed to President Muhammadu Buhari back in May to determine for themselves if it would have been right for any incoming government, not just this one to ignore the issue of the brazen theft of public assets, perhaps the first of its kind we have ever seen in this country,

” In this  regard that there is no witch hunt or malice against anyone in the pursuit of the county’s stolen assets still stand . This war against corruption knows no friend nor foe.

“There is no intention to deny anyone of their good name where they are entitled to it and that President Buhari reserves the highest regards for the country’s former leaders including Dr Jonathan Goodluck who he continues to praise to the high heavens for the way and manner in which he accepted defeat in the last election.

“That singular action remains a feat that has earned the former president and Nigeria as country befitting commendations all over the world, the latest coming from Mr Ban Ki-Moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations who visited a week ago.

“For the purpose of emphasis, the issue of fighting corruption by President Buhari is non negotiable. It is sine qua non to the overall reconstruction of the economy and social systems  which suffered  destruction and severe denigration under the last administration. President Buhari will not be deterred or blackmailed into retreat and surrender…”

Buhari Responds To ‘Lopsided Appointments’ Allegation By Southern Leaders

The presidency faulted the Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly (SNPA) leaders’ position on selective appointments and war against corruption, saying the conclusions are by no means original.

According to a statement from Mr. Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), “they are rehash of the same hackneyed phrases used by those in the opposition to government.

“The time used at the meeting would have been better spent if original ideas had been put forward to advance the change process going on in the country. But…it’s only those who live in denial of it that would be marooned in the past. The Buhari administration will not be distracted. Discerning Nigerians know the truth.”

I Didn’t Know The Transformer Was Removed, Teslim Folarin Responds To Allegation

Teslim Folarin, who was accused of removing a transformer he donated to a community after he lost in the election reacts to the allegation in a statement. Read Statement below:

“It is with sadness that I learnt of a particular incident which purportedly took place in the Sabo area of Ibadan on Sunday. I understand that a transformer which I had donated to the community was the subject of controversy between the youths of the area and some leaders with either side accusing the other of trying to sell the transformer. The PDP youths in the area subsequently took the transformer to a safe place within Sabo area itself pending an amicable resolution which I understand was resolved by the leaders of the community.
Fact; I was not aware of this incident until this morning when I was woken up with headlines all over the internet that I had taken back the transformer because I had lost an election. It is instructive to note that no media house had even contacted me to find out the truth.

I have since contacted members of Sabo community and they confirmed that the matter has been resolved.

Which brings me to the worrying conclusion that a well orchestrated and sophisticated campaign of calumny has begun against my person as a precursor to the 2019 elections. I would advice my supporters to take heart and remain peaceful as this is only one in a long line of attacks that I will expect from enemies of my progress.

For now it is a time for healing and introspection, we have had a long campaign and everyone needs to rest and thank God for his or her life before asking God to prolong our lives to the said 2019.

I thank the good people of Oyo state for your continued support.”

One love.

Drake Responds To Backlash Over Madonna’s Kiss

Things got interesting at Coachella on Sunday when Madonna made a surprise appearance during Drake’s set, and proceeded to passionately make out with him while he was seated in a chair. Things got even weirder when Drake pulled his face away from the kiss looking disgusted, much to the shock of everyone watching, at the concert and online.

Drake Responds to Backlash Over Madonna Kiss
