IDPs To Feature In Reality Show

A movie production company has concluded plans to feature Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in its forthcoming Television Reality Show.

The Executive Producer, Mr Emmanuel Eyaba, who visited some IDPs camps in Abuja on Wednesday for auditions, said that the aim was to give them a new identity.

The audition was done in collaboration with the African Union (AU).

The talent programme tagged; “Unleash Your Creativity’’ also known as “UUC Nigeria’’, is aimed at creating a platform for young adults interested in the movie industry to showcase their abilities.

The zonal auditions which successfully held in Kano, Kaduna, Adamawa, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Lagos.

Eyaba said that he decided to include the youth among the IDPs in the programme to give them a sense of belonging.

“I see the term ‘IDPs’ to be stigmatising and I do not like how that comes about.

“We all are victims of circumstances in various ways, but we are all given different opportunities to succeed so they need this to reprogramme their thinking and approach to life.

“Instead of distributing items, rice and foodstuff, I think it is better for us to develop their skills and develop their passion in acting,’’ he said.

According to him, we decided to include them in this talent hunt so that they can develop their skills in script writing, acting, singing, directing, producing or makeup.

Amber Rose, Blac Chyna’s Reality Show Cancelled

Amber Rose and Blac Chyna’s MTV reality show isn’t happening anymore and they say it’s because they’re too “busy” doing other things.

The two former best friends are telling their friends they have various projects that prevent them from joining forces on the boob tube.  Amber says she’s “in the process” of getting her own talk show, and Blac Chyna says she has various product deals.

Hmm… we wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that Blac Chyna did NOT show up to support her girl Amber Rose’s SlutWalk last weekend.

10 Killed When Helicopters Collide While Shooting Reality TV Show

Eight cast members from a reality TV show were killed Monday when two helicopters collided mid-air over Argentina, according to multiple media reports. Two pilots also died.

The cast members — all French nationals — were filming a survival series called “Dropped” in the rugged mountains of the La Rioja province of the South American country.

“Apparently, the two helicopters collided as they were filming. There are no survivors,” provincial spokesman Horacio Alarcon said. Weather conditions were reportedly good and the reason for the crash is still unknown.

Among the dead are champion sailor Florence Arthaud, Olympic gold medalist swimmer Camille Muffat and Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine. In addition to the contestants, two Argentine pilots were killed.

“Dropped,” which was to air on French television channel TF1, involved eight sports stars being dropped into inhospitable environments for the survival-themed reality series.

Shooting began in late February in Ushuaia, at the southern tip of South America in the glacial landscape of Patagonia, and then moved to the mountainous La Rioja region.

The wreckage from the crash burned for over four hours after the collision as police and firefighters worked to recover the victims’ bodies.
