Japan’s Sex Problem Is So Bad That People Are Quitting Dating & Marrying

The Japanese sex problem has become so desperate that its young population are giving up on dating and are just marrying their friends.

A Government survey found 69 per cent of Japanese men and 59 per cent of Japanese women do not have a romantic partner.

One Japanese aggregator website has since been awash with stories of how people have simply got married to life-long friends.

The country has one of the lowest birth rates in the world, with just 8.4 children being born per 1,000 inhabitants over the last five years.

Its population of 127m people is predicted to decrease to 87m by 2060.

The survey, carried out by the country’s National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, also reported that about 80 per cent of unmarried Japanese want to get married.

In recent weeks, people have posted stories to the aggregator website Matome Naver, telling how in one case, a colleague married their friend of 10 years.

The trend has been coined “Kousai zero Nichikon”: roughly translated as “marrying without dating”.

Japanese actress Maki Horikita married co-star Koji Yamamoto in 2015 after just a month of dating.

Police Arrest 11 People For Trafficking Babies In Biscuit Boxes

Eleven people have been arrested in India on suspicion of duping single women into selling their newborn babies and trafficking the infants inside biscuit containers to an adoption centre to be sold on to childless couples, police said on Wednesday.

A senior official from Crime Investigation Department (CID) in the eastern state of West Bengal said the arrests began on Monday after police raided a private nursing home and found two babies hidden in cardboard boxes in a locked medical storeroom.

Those arrested included the owner, midwives and other staff at the nursing home in Baduria, 80 km (50 miles) from Kolkata.

Police have also arrested court clerks suspected of making fake documentation for the children and the head of a charity which ran the adoption centre.

“The inquiry is underway and more information will be revealed only after some more progress is made,” Bharat Lal Meena, Deputy Inspector General for the CID in West Bengal, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

Staff at the nursing home and the charity were not immediately available for comment.

Police said initial investigations indicated that unmarried girls and women who visited the clinic for an abortion were persuaded by staff to give birth and sell their babies.

The police did not give a price, but local news reports said the mothers were given 300,000 rupees ($4,380) for a boy and 100,000 rupees ($1,460) for a girl.

Babies were also stolen from women who delivered at the clinic, but who were told by staff that their children were stillborn. Some were even shown the bodies of stillborn babies preserved by the clinic to dupe parents, police said.

The babies, mostly newborns, were then smuggled in cartons used to store biscuits, and taken by road to an adoption centre 25 km (15 miles) away in Machlandapur, where they were sold on to childless couples.

“It was a well organized syndicate, incorporating all kinds of helping hands needed for the smuggling network,” said another CID official, who did not wish to be identified because he is not authorised to speak to reporters.

The CID officer said more arrests were likely in the coming days.

Reports of human trafficking in India increased by 25 percent in 2015 compared to the previous year, with more than 40 percent of cases involving children being bought, sold and exploited as modern day slaves, government crime data shows.

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) said there were 6,877 cases related to human trafficking last year against 5,466 in 2014, with the highest number of cases reported in the northeast state of Assam, followed by West Bengal state.

South Asia, with India at its centre, is one of the fastest-growing regions for human trafficking in the world.

Gangs sell thousands of victims into bonded labour every year or hire them out to exploitative bosses. Many women and girls are sold into brothels.

India, alone is home to 40 percent of the world’s estimated 45.8 million slaves, according to a 2016 global slavery index published by the Australia-based Walk Free Foundation.

Swiss Defend Title Of World’s Richest People

The Swiss are the richest people in the world, with an average wealth of 561,900 dollars per adult, Credit Suisse said in its annual global wealth report on Tuesday.

This confirms Switzerland’s top ranking for the 16th year in a row.

People in the United States trailed with assets worth 344,700 dollars, followed by the British average net worth of 288,800 dollars, the major Swiss bank said in Zurich.

The depreciation of the pound that followed Britain’s vote to leave the EU has wiped out a total 1.5 trillion dollars of the country’s total privately held assets, Credit Suisse noted.

For the first time since the global financial crisis of 2008, the global average wealth per adult stagnated in 2016, at 52,800 dollars.

The report also showed that the share of people’s non-financial assets as part of their household wealth has increased for the first time this year since 2008.

Rising real estate prices have added to private wealth in several countries including Germany, according to the report.

The group of super-rich people, who own at least 50 million dollars, rose by 4,100 individuals to a total of 140,900 over the past year, driven by increases in Asian countries.

Chinese People Engage In Sleeping Competition

While many people are packing their suitcases for a trip during China’s seven-day National Day holiday, also known as “the Golden Week”, some people in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, are packing their sleepwear for a sleeping competition.

The competition lasted two days and participants needed to sleep on their deck chair from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm. During the 10-hour sleeping marathon, the competitors cannot leave their chair for bathroom or meal breaks, or touch any electronic devices.

On the first day, a total of 16 people finished the competition, while only eight stayed the course on the second day amid the rain and temperatures falling to as low as 0? at dusk.

Although it was cold, participants were also not allowed to leave to get thicker quilts.

Participants from different places around the world joined the challenge with different intentions.

“I will win the game for my parents because winners are awarded a two-day stay at a spring hotel in Dalian, a coastal city. I want to take them there,” a female participant told the Harbin-based newspaper, Modern Evening Times.

“My girlfriend registered for me. I will prove that I can win,” a participant, nicknamed Leifeng Cap, said.

It was reported that the sleeping competition was not only a respite from electronics, but a challenge to people’s physical well-being.

Why Edo People Will Vote For APC- Gov Oshiomhole

Ahead the gubernatorial elections in Edo State this weekend, Governor Adams Oshiomhole has said due to the track record of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in the state, its going to be a smooth victory for his party.

Speaking to State House Correspondents on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Oshiomhole  stated that Edo people had never had it so good like under the eight year reign of the APC.

He said, “For us it is fun, when you have a good report card, you are anxious to go and show to your parents that you did well in school so that you can ask for support to go to secondary school. It is when you fail that you cry and find a way to make excuses.

“We have worked for Edo people and there is no ward of the 192 wards that you will not find standard government project, whether it is road, school, health centre, water and these are things they have never seen for 10 years of PDP.

The governor asserted that his administration has rebuilt  schools and Edo teachers are paid as at when due and the teachers are properly motivated, that only qualified teachers are in the  classrooms adding that from the situation where Edo used to be 23rd in WAEC and NECO but last year the state came 2nd.

“With all these, there is no way the people will vote for a party that had been given them excuses. I have no doubt whatsoever that anytime, anyday, a fair minded Edo man will vote APC, He added.

On  fears that certain governors are ready to forment trouble during the election, he accused the River state governor ,Wyesome Wike and his Delta counterpart, Ifeanyi Okowa of importing militants to Edo to destabilise the elections.

Trump Regrets Offending People With How He Speaks

Donald Trump made a rare act of contrition Thursday, saying he regretted offending people with his harsh way of speaking.

The Republican nominee made the gesture at his first rally since ordering a shakeup in his campaign to save his struggling White House bid.

“Sometimes in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing,” Trump told a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina. “I have done that. And believe it or not, I regret it,” he said, drawing laughs and applause from the crowd. “I do regret it. Particularly, where it may have caused personal pain.”

He added: “Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues, but one thing, I can promise you this, I will always tell you the truth.”

The New York billionaire’s multiple self-inflicted wounds of late have left him trailing in virtually every battleground state. One of the biggest missteps was clashing repeatedly with the parents of an Army captain killed in Iraq.

Critics accused him last week of inciting violence against his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton in a remark about the right to bear arms, and media reports have swirled about a campaign in crisis and a candidate apparently incapable of reeling in crass remarks.

Sex Myths: 5 Misconceptions People Have About Sex

1. Bigger is better

Most guys have heard a few people say size doesn’t matter, though very few seem to believe it. When it comes right down to it, you’re probably a lot more concerned about the ampleness of your member than your partner is. A survey of more than 1,000 people from Cosmopolitan.com found 89% of respondents weren’t concerned with their partner’s penis size. And some evidence suggests it has more to do with proportion than actual size.

The real takeaway is you should know how to work with what you’ve been given. Relationship expert and author of The Seven Natural Laws of Love, Deborah Anapol, penned a piece in Psychology Today that indicated a smaller size can actually be an advantage. “A smaller penis is often easier to maneuver inside the vagina, and may motivate the man to explore a variety of ways to please his lover,” she said.

2. It’s all downhill after you turn 40

Most of us reach our peak physical fitness sometime in our 20s. This includes a combination of endurance, strength, and flexibility, all important building blocks for a successful romp in the sheets, right? Maybe not. Researchers from the University of Gothenburg found 62% of women and 71% of men over the age of 70 reported feeling very satisfied with their sex lives. Maybe even more important is the fact these percentages have substantially increased since the 1970s.

Some of this may be due to a stronger relationship. Melanie Davis, a certified sexual educator (CSE), told Men’s Health, “There’s less emphasis on quick orgasms and more focus on sensuality, creativity, and emotional connection.” Basically, it has a lot more to do with the person than the specific sensation.

Older individuals also tend to have a fewer sexual hangups. Many young people find it hard to speak up during intercourse, but if you don’t tell your partner what you want, it’s unlikely they’ll just figure it out. Dr. Carmella Sebastian, an expert in women’s wellness and sexuality, told WebMD she didn’t experience multiple orgasms until after she’d had two children. She attributed it to increased confidence that allowed her to start asking for what she really wanted in the bedroom.

3. Men care more about sex than women do

We’ve all heard it before: Men think about sex every seven seconds. No one has been able to verify this statistic, but it’s widely accepted as truth or at least as mostly true. The other supposed truth is that women fall far behind when it comes to thinking about a romp in the sheets. According to a 2011 study from Ohio State University, men think about sex 19 times per day while women average 10 per day. Still more research suggests women may actually have a greater craving for bedroom time than men. One recent survey found 53.2% of females want more sex in their relationships.

Keep in mind, it’s the individual that matters most. Some people naturally have higher sex drives than others, regardless of gender. One story from The Huffington Post featured 13 females who craved far more sexual intimacy than their partners.

4. Great sex is effortless

Our notions of sex and how it should unfold are informed a little too much by pop culture. Things happen so effortlessly onscreen, but that’s only because 15 minutes of awkward conversation and fumbling doesn’t make for good TV. As AskMen pointed out, “the human body doesn’t come with an instruction manual.” Each person is different and just because one partner liked a particular move doesn’t mean your next one will. Honest communication is the best way to find your bedroom groove, and it may take a few times to get there.

There’s also no guarantee a great bedroom session will just happen. Rachel Hills, author of The Sex Myth, told New York Post spontaneity is more likely at the beginning of a relationship. Later on, it usually takes more of an effort. Scheduling time for sex might sound ridiculous, but it’s a good way to take the pressure off both you and your partner.

3,000 Displaced As Busi Communities Clash In Cross River

OVER three thousand persons in Busi 4, one of the communities at the base of the famous Obudu Ranch Resort in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, have been displaced following a communal conflict, weekend. Sources in the area confirmed that five of the Busi communities, Busi 1, Busi 2, Busi 3, Busi 5 and Busi 6, allegedly joined forces to attack Busi 4, following a dispute over a parcel of farmland.

A visit by Vanguard to the conflict area, located over four hundred kilometres away from Calabar, showed that several houses in Busi 4 were set ablaze, farmlands and water sources destroyed, while the villagers have escaped to the divisional police headquarters and the council headquarters at Sankwala, for refuge. A community leader in Busi 4, Mr. Emmanuel Okobere, said: “Neighbouring communities of Busi 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 invaded us in a protracted dispute over a parcel of land, which has spanned several years. “We got court judgement in our favour five times, which they refused to accept.”

A youth leader in the community, Mr. Francis Obi, said the invaders attacked their community on Friday evening, taking them unawares. He said: “We were preparing to go to bed when all of a sudden, we started hearing gunshots, which caused panic in the community as our people started running and those who could not run fast enough were killed and our houses set ablaze.” Mr. John Inaku, Director General of Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, attributed the crisis to lack of patience and understanding among communities and condemned the act as barbaric and unnecessary. “These villages are always in a hurry to engage in the use of violence to settle land disputes, even when government is taking measures to settle the situation amicably,” he added

People Want To Cause Friction Between Buhari And Me- Mbaka

Enugu Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has said that some Nigerians  are hell-bent on causing  disaffection  between President Muhammadu Buhari  and him.

Mbaka said contrary to earlier media reports that he made negative predictions concerning the President’s ill health, he merely made reference to the reported claims by Nigerian doctors.

He said that some  Nigerian doctors had expressed fears over the chances of President  Buhari recovering from his illness.

Mbaka, who is in charge of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), spoke through his media aide, Barr Ike Maximus Ugwuoke, maintained  that some Nigerians were trying to cause a needless rift  between him and the presidency.

He said: “?our attention has been drawn to a report in a section of the media alleging that Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, said that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has slim chances of surviving from his ill health.

“The true fact is that there were media reports, making fuss about Mr President’s health and insinuating Mr President‘s slim chances of recovering from his ill health, published immediately the president went on vacation.

“Fr Mbaka referring to the said media report during his prayers for the sick in the ministry prayed with the worshippers of the ministry for Mr President’s healing and health after which there were lots of testimonies from the sick that were healed.”

Ugwuoke quoted Mbaka as saying that “They say the sickness is E.N.T.  When it affects, the ear, it affects the nose and affects the neck. We pray for our President and any one that is suffering such a dangerous disease.

“We lift our healing hands for divine healing upon our president. Wherever he is, may he be healed in Jesus name.

“The doctors in Nigeria are nursing fear that he may not survive but we have a healing God.  His name is specialist in impossibilities.”

He added that some ?persons were nose-diving in the affairs of the ministry with a view to causing unnecessary rift between the ministry and the presidency.

People Making Money Out Of Our Grief – Chibok Parents

Some parents of the missing Chibok girls have alleged that  some people have been making money out of them.

This disclosure is coming against the backdrop of complaints by parents that their advocates were not being accountable to those of them still living in Chibok and its surrounding villages.

The parents,  who spoke on  the telephone on Monday,  also disclosed that they had  yet to receive the N30m donations made by Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President’s wife had three weeks ago presented a cheque of N55m  to the parents of the missing Chibok schoolgirls and those of the Buni Yadi School boys.

Dolapo,  wife of the Vice-President Yemi  Osinbajo,  collected the cheque of N30m  on behalf of  their  parents while  the Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Khadijat Bukar, received the cheque of N25m meant for the parents of the Buni Yadi boys.

However,  Yana Galla,  the chairperson of the association of the  parents of the missing Chibok schoolgirls living in Chibok and its surrounding villages,  dispelled the rumours  that the monies had been shared to them.

Galla said  the money was  still  with the aides to  the President’s wife.

Food Shortages Drive People In N’East To IDP Camps

People uprooted by Boko Haram violence in the northeast are leaving host families and moving to camps for the displaced as food becomes increasingly scarce, the European Commission’s humanitarian arm (ECHO) said Wednesday.

Seven million people do not have enough food to eat and almost one-third of them need urgent food aid, according to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Nine in 10 of Nigeria’s 2.2 million internally displaced people are living with host families in the northeast rather than in camps, amid food shortages that are raising tension in many households, said Thomas Dehermann-Roy, head of ECHO’s Central Africa office.

“It is easier to host your neighbours, friends and family when everything is fine, but when food becomes scarce, tensions are raised,” he said. Around two-thirds of people uprooted by conflict and four in five host families in northeast Nigeria said food was their most pressing and unfulfilled need, according to ECHO.

“Some people are moving to camps as the living situation with host families becomes too harsh – it is a worrying trend and sign of a deteriorating situation,” Dehermann-Roy added.

A regional offensive by Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroun last year drove Boko Haram from much of the territory it held in north eastern Nigeria, undermining its six-year campaign to carve out an Islamic caliphate.
But the militants have since struck back with suicide bombings and hit and run attacks on civilians, threatening livelihoods and hindering aid agencies’ efforts to deliver food.

The amount of land being used to grow food has dropped by almost 70 per cent over the past year as the violence has disrupted farming and driven people off their land, OCHA said.

You Won’t Believe What These Identical Twins Who Share A Boyfriend Want To Share Next

30 year old identical twins, Anna and Lucy DeCinque were born one minute apart and have always shared everything they have. They share the same bed, wear the same clothes and even share one boyfriend. These twins are so identical that when they attended a game show in Japan, facial technology was used to try to tell them apart but it failed thus giving them the title of world’s most identical twins.

Despite this inability to differentiate both of them, they have both undergone facial reconstruction to look the same, spending almost $145,000 in the process.

Now the twins are taking their closeness to the next level: They plan to get pregnant at the same time, by the same guy, their boyfriend Ben Byrne, who is 32 years old and also a twin, but not an identical one.

Anna told Mirror.UK they plan to have children at the same time. She said:

“If I got pregnant Lucy would definitely get pregnant straight way — because our bodies need to be the same.”

While they’re not currently trying to have kids at the moment, they are serious about the plan:

“We would try to make that happen, definitely. We are not trying right now — we love children and kids love us, but it’s not the time for us.”

Adding:

“We would have to be exactly the same even if we went through IVF at the same time.”

79-Year Old Mother-In-Law, Sisters-In-Law Beat Up House Wife Till She Lost Her Left Eye

A 52-year-old housewife, Olasunkanmi Lawal, has lost the use of one of her eyes after a scuffle with her mother-in-law, Aduke Awakan.

The mother of two was also said to have been attacked by her sisters-in-law, Bose Showole (39) and Oduntan Enitan (24), at their family house on Isale-Agbede Street, on the Lagos Island area of Lagos State.

Punch Metro learnt that the case was reported at the Adeniji Adele Police Station, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The victim explained that she was attacked because she stopped giving money to the septuagenarian.

She said, “My husband and I live in the family house and we have been there since 1989. We have two children.

“However, my mother-in-law started keeping malice with me after I stopped giving her money. I lost my jewellery business due to the demolition of my shop in 2014 and because of that; I could no longer support her.

“On Saturday, January 16, around 4pm, I returned from work and I met her at home. When I greeted her, she shunned me. I was surprised because I never had any disagreement with her.

“Before I knew it, one of her children, Bose (Showole), punched me in the left eye. I fought back. Her grandchild, Enitan, used stone to hit me in the same eye, while the woman herself hit me with a chair. Blood started coming out from the eye.”

She said she reported the assault at the Adeniji Adele Police Station and from there, she was referred to the Lagos Island General Hospital, where the doctors told her she had lost the use of her left eye.

A medical report from the hospital, signed by one J.O. Owuye, said the victim was diagnosed with, “left periorbital swelling, abrusion at anterior chest wall.”

It was learnt that the police arrested the 79-year-old, but later released her on bail after the two other suspects, Showole and Enitan, were produced by the family.

Lawal, however, accused the Investigating Police Officer, Ajekigbe Sarah, of siding with the suspects against her.

She alleged that the IPO deliberately prevented her from completing her statement at the station.

“She stopped me midway and said I should go to the hospital for treatment.

“But when I returned to finish writing the statement, she said it was no longer necessary. Even the DPO queried her for the action,” she added.

Her father, Alhaji Ahmed Oshodi, called for justice.

But the septuagenarian suspect, Awakan, denied the allegations.

In her statement to the police she said, “It was about 4pm. I was at home when Alhaja (Lawal) came in and greeted me and I told her not to greet me again.

“Alhaja is the wife of my son. I asked her not to greet me because the previous day, she abused me indirectly and I decided not to reply her greetings again.

“So, when she came in and greeted me, I shunned her, but one of my daughters intervened.”

She said Lawal and her daughter had an argument which degenerated into a fight.

“I don’t know how she got injured in the eye,” she added.

Showole, in her defence, said she intervened because Lawal, who was her brother’s wife, was “abusing my mother and pointing a finger at her”.

“I pushed her hand and she slapped me on the face.

“Then we started fighting. She held my clothes and I did the same. I don’t know what happened to her eye,” she said.

Enitan denied involvement in the fight.

She said the fight was between Lawal and Showole.

The police, however, arraigned the trio before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on three counts of assault occasioning harm.

The charges read in part, “That you, Aduke Awakan, Bose Shobowale and Oduntan Eniola, on January 16, 2016, did unlawfully assault one Olasunkanmi Lawal, by giving her fist blows and injuring her with a crate of eggs and stone that led to injury in her left eye.”

The police prosecutor, I. Okeke, said the offence was punishable under sections 409, 171 and 170 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges and elected summary trial.

The Magistrate, Mr. A.A. Adefulire, admitted them to bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till March 24, 2016.

People With Old Phones Will Be Cut Off From The Internet On January 1

On the first day of the new year, anyone who has a cell phone that’s more than five years old will not be able to use it to access the encrypted web, BuzzFeed News reports. That includes accessing sites like Google, Facebook, and Twitter.

This Internet cutoff is part of a plan to keep encrypted websites secure. According to Ars Technica, these encrypted sites use SHA-1, a cryptographic algorithm, to protect themselves against hackers. Most of these major sites intended to upgrade their security in January 2017 regardless, but because hacking threats have become more imminent, they are upgrading them sooner. As of Jan. 1, 2016, only SHA-2 certificates will be accepted, which people who have older model phones don’t have.

CEO of CloudFlare Matthew Prince recently conducted research with Facebook showing as many as 7 percent of the world’s Internet users might be affected by this SHA-1 cut-off. “It is important to remember that the Internet is not just guys with the newest laptops and an iPhone 6,” he told BuzzFeed.

Of course this isn’t as big of an issue in the United States as it is in developing countries, Prince elaborated: “We didn’t want to be hyperbolic. We wanted to be realistic. For the developing world, on average, 4 to 5 percent of visitors will simply be cut off.”

Mom Scams People After Shaving Daughter’s Hair, Claiming She’s Fighting Cancer

According to ValleyCentral.com, Juanita Garcia of Mission, Texas, allegedly shaved her 7-year-old daughter’s head and told her she only had months to live in order to convince people to donate money to her.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office reports Garcia, 46, allegedly told people both in person and online that her daughter was terminally ill and that any money they donated would go toward her daughter’s treatment. Investigators medically evaluated the child and found her to be completely healthy. They also found Garcia had collected donations from a few people, though it’s unclear how much she made.

Child Protective Services removed Garcia’s daughter from her home since charging Garcia with exploitation of a child on Dec. 9. Garcia is currently being held on $10,000 bond at the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center and admitted to police during questioning that she’d faked her daughter’s illness.

Women’s Brains Are Sharper Than Men’s In Old Age – New Study

Women’s brains age better than men’s but their bodies do not cope as well, research suggests. Even though female life expectancy has increased over the past 20 years, elderly women spend less time with memory problems than they did, a study shows.

The unexpected finding goes against most predictions, which would expect rates of dementia to increase as people live for longer. The same trend, however, was not seen among men, whose total time spent in a state of ‘mild cognitive impairment’ increased slightly.

Last night experts said they could not definitively explain their findings but they suspect that the vast improvements in education for women may be behind the trend.

Why People Didn’t Like The Yeezy Boost 350- Kanye West

Kanye West is currently taking part in ShowStudio’s “In Camera” live interview series and is dropping a ton of gems as expected. While breaking down his aspirations and the elements of the Yeezy Season collections, the discussion shifted towards sneakers and Kanye let loose this bomb about the polarizing adidas Yeezy Boost 350 model.

“They saw the 350s and acted like they didn’t like them because they’re racist,” he said.

Damn, ‘Ye, tell ’em how you really feel. On the other hand, he summed up the hype for the Yeezys rather gracefully: “We sell shoes people want to line up for because we put love in them.”

Later, he got charged up while comparing his designs to other sneakers on the shelves. “There’s a time when, you know, when Michelangelo… I’m sure there were people who were sculpting better than him. But he made David,” he said. “Is there a time where [you] can go on the Internet and find a shoe that people want more than my shoes? Well go fuck yourself then if it isn’t, and don’t ask me no stupid shit like that again. With the love [laughs].”

“I designed that shoe, didn’t I? I didn’t see somebody else’s shoes getting lined up for.” Shots fired?

Anifowoshe Titilope Legal Eagle: The Programmed Psyche Of The Nigerian Youths

The advent of social media has unarguably eased the world of so many impediments. In fact the human race is gradually adopting this man-made culture which is becoming more superior than the age-old culture of our forefathers. According to statistics if Facebook was a country it will be the most populated  (beating china the world’s most populated country) of 3.16 billion people, it should however be noted that this statistics does not include the population of China, as Facebook has been blocked from the nation since 2009.

Today 43% of the world population are 25 years old or younger, this young  group in according to Wikipedia are 33,652,424 in population (70% of the nation’s population). Research shows that these group are the most prominent users of social media, ranging from Facebook to Twitter, to Skype, to badoo, to instagram, wahtsapp, snapchat etc. Relationships are maintained, business deals are sealed, political participation is enhanced, we get first hand information about new trends and happenings etc. It is unarguable that this 21st century culture has made and marred our lives, most  of us worship it, we met our lovers courtesy this new culture, we interact with our affiliates through this culture, we get the latest music updates through these platform, we learn tips  on how to look good, we get updated about our favourite celebrities, we flirt and commit so many atrocities through this culture of ours.We detest giving out polymer notes as alms, but we don’t mind expending our last kobo to renew our data subscriptions all for this new culture that we adore  and respect even more than our creator.

One of the lessons I learnt from my industrious father is that you don’t invest your money into a cause that won’t yield anything to you. What’s the essence of life if not for happiness, fulfillment, upliftment and service to God and Humanity? It’s very sardonic that this 21st  century culture of ours has been malignant to Nigerian youths.

From my knowledge of history I know that youths were the agents of political change, the power house of the industrial world, the brain of the computer world, I learnt that Martin Luther King at 29 refused to accept things the way they are through the audacity of his dreams and revolutionary ideas. Standing Boldly on the floor of the parliamentary house with matchless eloquence of a seasoned orator, Anthony Enahoro at 30 stood in the midst of elder statesmen and fellow Patriots, armed with the courage that only the young can muster , looked the colonial government in their faces and moved the motion for the independence of Nigeria for the first time in 1953. He shut his eyes at the inducement and threats of the colonial masters and fought for the freedom of his countrymen. Before 28, Chinua Achebe, an acclaimed father of African literature had written and published Things Fall Apart- a book which according to Wikipedia has been translated into more than 50 foreign languages. At 13, Bill Gates wrote his first computer program and by the age of 19, founded Microsoft with Paul Allen (21) in 1975. They both created a golden opportunity for themselves and for others generating $77.85 billion annual revenue with the staff strength of 100,932 at the close of 2013. At age 12, Mark Zuckerberg wrote his first computer program, by 20 he founded Facebook with some of his colleagues in the University dormitory in 2004.

Majority of Nigerian Youths believe that they are not qualified to work on their dreams until they have gotten a degree certificate and concluded their National Youth Service, they waste their pristine age pursuing a degree certificate ; which today is a mere social status, they kill their creativity and channel their energy solely to making 5.0CGPA. At a stage where energy and ingenuity surge is at the highest level, we wait for WAEC, JAMB, BSC and NYSC as if success depends on these social time wasters. At a youthful age when aspirations and entrepreneurial spirits are strong and blossoming our educational system is busy tailoring the minds of our brilliant youths for non-existent jobs in government, banks, chevron, Etisalat, NNPC, Law Chambers etc.

We are too enthralled by the fun of the social media that we have refused to avert our minds to the the various ways we can add values to our lives through the media. If Galileo could discover the principle of pendulum at 18 without the help of Wikipedia, if Thomas Jefferson could draft the most potent and consequential document which secured the independence of America without the assistance of Google, if Albert Einstein could change the course of modern physics without the aid of downloaded pdf files and online materials, what exactly is the reason why we (21st century youths) can’t  break the bounds and make billowing and landmark achievements? With the social media and the Internet at our finger tips, with the press at our Beck and call, with the ardor of our federal government to make things right, what is your excuse?

It’s not just about the ideas, it’s about tapping the unlimited resources at your reach to carve a niche for oneself. Million dollar ideas are a dime a dozen, the determination to see your idea through is what is priceless. Decide today to follow through on your idea, the Internet is available for you to research on the million and one lucrative businesses and innovations that are yet to be explored. You need not make beads before you are empowered, you need not learn make-up because that’s what every girl does, be unique, be different, start up something new. A lot of people left Facebook for Twitter because it’s a different idea, if every female youth learns tailoring, who will manufacture the clothes tomorrow? If every male youth learns printing jobs who will fix our cars in the future? If bead-making is the vogue today, what happens if wearing beads becomes old fashion?

Fellow Nigerian Youths; now is our time to enhance the media for our own good!

New Study Claims Homophobic People Often Have Psychological Issues

Homophobic attitudes may say a lot about the person who holds them, new research suggests.

A new study of university students in Italy revealed that people who have strongly negative views of gay people also have higher levels of psychoticism and inappropriate coping mechanisms than those who are accepting of homosexuality.

This doesn’t mean that homophobic people are psychotic; rather, psychoticism is a personality trait marked by hostility, anger and aggression toward others. But the study does suggest that people who cling to homophobic views have some psychological issues, said lead researcher Emmanuele Jannini, an endocrinologist and medical sexologist at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

“The study is opening a new research avenue, where the real disease to study is homophobia,” Jannini told Live Science.

5 Foolish Things People Do When They Are Broke

1. Splurge when money comes in

It’s easy to get into the “I’ve been broke for months, so I should be able to treat myself” mindset, and when a large sum of money — like a tax return or bonus from work — comes in, sometimes people run out and spend this money instead of using it for something practical.

According to data published on Mint.com, “Taxpayers reporting more than $50,000 in income were more likely, at 52 percent, to put refunds into savings than those who made less.” Whether this money goes to a vacation, shopping spree, or a new piece of technology, spending a lump sum of money on wants instead of saving it, or using it to pay down debt, is not the wisest choice.

2. Prioritize convenience

When you’re broke, small things make a difference. Each trip to the convenience store to buy milk or bread, for instance, adds up. Second to gasoline, the most commonly purchased items at convenience stores are candy and gum (31%) and soda (29%). Although you may only be spending $2 or $3 more each trip, after 20 or so trips, you’ve spent around $50 that you could have saved simply by going to the grocery store.

The same principle applies with cleaning products, fast food, and other conveniences. It’s much easier to buy disposable cleaning products than to use more inexpensive options like reusable mops, sponges, and toilet brushes. But, many people — even when they’re broke — are willing to pay extra money for the convenience.

3. Take on too much debt (or take on bad debt)

If you have a low income, it is more difficult to pay off debts like student loans, credit cards, etc. Talk Poverty found that earners in the lowest quintile face education debt that averages around one-fourth (24%) of their income. However, the average for all household is only 6%. Some debts like medical debts, of course, may be unavoidable, and some — think student loans, mortgage debts, and responsible credit card debt — may even be practical. But taking on more debt than you can handle is asking for trouble.

Many people who are broke still take on high-interest loans (e.g., payday-type loans) and large amounts of credit card debt. Bankrate found that as of last year, nearly one out of four people (23%) earning less than $30,000 had more credit card debt than savings.

4. Live above their means

Do you spend more money than you earn? If so, you’re certainly not the only one. A large portion of households, particularly lower-income households, have higher expenditures than they do income.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ consumer expenditure surveys, consumer units (which are kind of like households) categorized as earning between $30,000 and $39,999 earned an average pre-tax income of $34,655, but they spent $36,093.

In each of the lower-earning income groups, average spending was higher than average income. It wasn’t until the $40,000-to-$49,999 income level (and higher-income levels) that average income finally exceeded average spending.

5. Have no savings

Whether we’re completely broke or not, most of us could benefit from saving more money. It’s a lot more difficult to save when you’re broke, and you need every penny you earn to cover the basic essentials. But it’s still a good idea to save some money. Even if you can’t save up the ideal six months of emergency savings and place large chunks of your paycheck into retirement funds and savings accounts, that doesn’t mean you necessarily have to give up on savings altogether. Even the smallest amounts can make a difference for a rainy day.

#BelieveItOrNot !! Hotel Where Perverts Pay to Have Sex With Animals Busted By Police

Three men have been jailed after being convicted of running an animal brothel in Swansea, Wales. The hotel specializes in getting animals and grooming them to become good in having sex with humans.

Their animal catalog includes domesticated female white lions, mountain nanny goats, Irish pigs, Himalayan gentle donkeys and other species of animals. Some animals that are not dangerous like female sheep’s and some breeds of dogs are also trained to give oral sex and receive full vaginal sex from the customer who come to book rooms and have sex with these animals over night.

The customers who cannot afford to pay for full sex or book a room end up paying $15 for oral sex by the sheep’s while the rich clients pay as much as $120 a night for a room and an animal sex partner that is healthy and experienced in human sexual pleasure. News reaching reporters say the animals are often cleaned and sanitized before the act. The vaginas and anus are deep cleaned with antiseptic smeared with lavenders and honey to make it tight and wet. The animals are sometimes dressed with pantyhose, G strings and high heeled shoes depending on the taste of the client.

The ring leaders Adam Cafferty and John Cafferty and their father David Cafferty ran a ‘gentlemen’s club’ known as “The Ram Inn” in Grange Road, Swansea.

The brothers, 31 and 28 and father 52 admitted keeping an animal brothel between January 2011 and July 2015 and a jury took less than three hours to find them all guilty.
,.

During their trial at Swansea Crown Court the jury heard they setup a website on the hidden “Deep Web” where people from all over the country could select the animal of their liking and book in for an appointment.

In their defense, the defense lawyer, Damian Erow told the trial judge and jury that the brothel poses no threat to its customers because the animal sex organs are sterilized regularly and that the animals are well trained to give and receive sex with their human counterparts.
..

All have previous convictions for committing the same offense at the same address.

The two brothers and father were all sentenced to four years in prison and the animals confiscated and sent back to animal conservatories because they have been so domesticated and sexually traumatized to survive tin the wild.

The clients are planning a peaceful demonstration to protest the infringement on their fundamental human right to happiness and sexual freedom. They ask to be allowed to chose their sex partners and follow their sexual orientation. They claim that they do not harm the animals instead the give the animals a chance to live a better qualitative life. The march is scheduled to hold Sometime later this year.

Over 3000 People Paid N200k Each To Watch A Kim Kardashian Makeup Session

Over 3000 fans trooped out to witness a Kim kardashian makeup session and as you can guess, It is neither free nor cheap.

They were all trying to look like her, with their fake tans, fake eyelashes, fake hair. This was their chance — the hundreds of young women who had traveled from Ecuador, Sweden, Abu Dhabi — to see Kim Kardashian, take a selfie with her, impress her: Kim Kardashian.

Some of her fans had shelled out thousands of dollars to be in Pasadena, where the 34-year-old and one of her favorite makeup artists, Mario Dedivanovic, were putting on a master class Saturday to reveal how the reality star attains her sought-after look. The cheapest tickets went for $299.99, but the most coveted seats sold for $999.99 and came with platinum wristbands, which promised guests a pricey gift bag and a picture with Kardashian and Dedivanovic.
.

The sold-out event went down yesterday and a crowd of people paid to watch as Mario made her up for 4 1/2 hours. To prove just how successful the event was, Kim Kardashian shared a photo which showed that the 3,000 seat capacity event centre – the Pasadena Civic Center – was filled to the brim with participants while people stood in ventilation vents to see the event.
.

Kardashian was bare-faced when she emerged on stage Saturday, dressed in a tight-fitting black maxi dress that accentuated her growing abdomen. (She recently announced she is expecting her second child, a boy, with husband Kanye West.)

After Kardashian’s look was finally completed, an assistant rushed over to hand her a digital camera so she could take a selfie of the final transformation.
.

And then came the most important question of all:

“Kim,” a woman shouted from the audience, “what camera is that? Will it make me look like you and take selfies like you? Oh i love you kim. I want to be Kim for a second oh God ! she broke down in tears”

Kim answered

“It is discontinued,”  “I need to ask them to make it again. This is how it makes all of [my] pictures so flawless.”

And the madness ended. Everybody went home happy.

Chadian Police To Arrest Anyone Wearing Full-Face Veil

Chadian police on Sunday warned that anyone found wearing the Muslim full-face veil would be arrested, after a Boko Haram suicide bombing in the capital left 15 dead.

Saturday’s attack in a bustling N’Djamena market by a man disguised as a woman in a full-face veil also injured 80 and spread panic across the city.

“This attack just confirms that a ban” on the full-face veil was justified, national police spokesman Paul Manga said, adding that “it now must be respected more than ever by the entire population.”

“Anyone who does not obey the law will be automatically arrested and brought to justice,” he warned.

The bomber detonated his explosives belt when he was stopped for security checks at the entrance to the city’s main market.

Muslim-majority Chad banned the full-face veil, ramped up security measures and bombed militant positions in Nigeria last month after the first ever Boko Haram attack in its capital.

Security was tightened across the dry and dusty capital on Sunday with police and soldiers deployed in all areas, including intersections, markets and mosques.

Nine of the dead were women traders, and fear still permeated the market on Sunday.

“What was happening elsewhere and what we heard about from media reports is now happening here,” said Zenaba, a woman trader in her forties.

“I’m really scared for me and my children,” she said.

Boko Haram claimed responsibility on Twitter for the suicide bombing, signing off as “Islamic State, West Africa province” — the militants’ self-styled moniker since pledging allegiance to the Islamic State group in March.

Boko Haram’s deadly insurgency has killed at least 15,000 people since 2009 and left more than 1.5 million homeless.

A four-nation coalition of Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon has reportedly pushed out the militants from captured towns and villages in an operation that began in February.

How To Be A Nigerian By Ololade Ajekigbe

Nigerians are a very special breed of people who possess unique qualities that only they could have been blessed with. Today, I will be attempting to help you recognize a full blooded Nigerian when you see one. If you are a Nigerian who has lived mostly in the diaspora, especially if you didn’t spend your formative years here, you may not be able to relate with the characteristics I will be highlighting, sorry… but that only suggests that you are not a typical Nigerian. But hey, all hope is not lost, you would definitely learn one or two things from this piece which if well practiced will confer on you the distinct privilege of being considered a Nigerian through and through. Without further ado, the following are the characteristics you must possess to be a Nigerian;
Attribute everything to God: You see to be a Nigerian, you have to first and foremost be religious. Nigerians don’t play with their god, and this is clearly evident in the ubiquitous churches and mosques that adorn the landscape. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, hold a white collar job or are an artisan, engage in advance fee fraud or rob people of their belongings for a living, as long as you pay your tithe as a christian and never fail to interject sentences with “It is well” or “God is in control” or pray five times daily as a muslim, you are covered. An atheist or agnostic is not a true Nigerian!
Be aggressive for no reason: The typical Nigerian takes the meaning of “purposeful” to a whole new level. We are forceful and energetic in speech, countenance and gait. The Nigerian certainly doesn’t do laid back.
Answer a question with another question: For instance;
Question: Where are you going?
Response: Why do you want to know? OR
Question: Will you be attending the party?
Response: Why should I?
When you hear conversations like the above, you can be sure the responder is a Nigerian.
State the Obvious: When you come across a sign which reads, “We are open 7 days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays” you can be sure the enterprise is owned by a Nigerian. I mean…aren’t Saturdays and Sundays part of the days of the week in the first place?
Be an expert in tautology: The phrases “Reverse back,” First priority,” “Close proximity” “Added bonus” or sentences like “Money for school fees” and “Prepay in advance” are needless repetitions commonly used by the Nigerian to drive home his point.
Impatience must be your watchword: When a Nigerian wants something, he wants it now. Patience isn’t exactly our forte. The typical Nigerian is constantly seeking ingenious ways to circumvent the system. From cutting through traffic indiscriminately to jumping a queue so we can be attended to before others “who have less important things to do,” the Nigerian being the go-getter that he is just needs to have what he wants as soon as possible. Don’t blame us. And no, there’s no explanation for it. That’s just the way we are wired.
Leave important stuff till the last minute: The recent rush to meet up with the deadline to obtain the Bank Verification Number (BVN) from commercial banks at the orders of the CBN is a very good example. Despite the fact that the Banks have been creating awareness on the importance of getting the BVN since early last year, many Nigerians never heeded the call and chose to wait until the last minute before doing the needful, thereby resulting in endless queues and chaos in banks. We only take things seriously at the dying minutes.
Show off but put up a false air of humility: Now, the average Nigerian loves to show off, don’t get it twisted, if we are doing well financially, we want you to know. We will post pictures of our latest wonder on wheels and vacation adventures, but put up a false air of humility with the “Oh, I am just managing o, nothing much” or “It’s just God” response when congratulated on how well we are doing, when we are in fact thrilled that you noticed!
Stare: Whether it is two people involved in fisticuffs or a couple in a public display of affection, we will stare, even if we stand the risk of getting robbed in the process. We are Nigerians. It’s what we do.
Make a joke out of a bad/embarrassing situation: If you cannot find it within yourself to rise out of a bad situation through humour, then you are definitely not a Nigerian. The drama that ensued between a former minister of the Niger Delta, Godsday Orubebe and the former chairman of INEC, Attahiru Jega during the collation of election results by INEC during the last elections is a case in point. The fallout of the embarrassing situation resulted in coined words like “Orubebetis or Orubebeism” and “Jegaquin,” as well as memes being used to describe the case of a cantankerous person versus a calm one which elicited several jokes all over social media.
Have the ability to adapt to any situation: The Nigerian is naturally endowed with grit and resilience. It’s the reason why you would find us in places as far as Iceland. It’s the reason why we would embark on a journey through the desert in search of greener pastures in Europe. No one can match the Nigerian when it comes to perseverance.
With these few points of mine, I sincerely hope I have been able to help you recognize a true Nigerian when you see one. And oh! This list is by no means exhaustive, feel free to add your observation to it.

Sometimes It Can Be Morally Necessary For Parents To Separate – Pope Francis

Pope Francis says it may be “morally necessary” for some troubled families to split up so that the weaker partner or the children can be protected. He said this today June 24th while addressing Catholic faithfuls ahead of a global meeting on family life in October. He said;

“There are cases in which separation is inevitable. Sometimes, it can even be morally necessary, when it’s about shielding the weaker spouse or young children from the more serious wounds caused by intimidation and violence, humiliation and exploitation”

He went on to say that after separations, it is important that the couple is counseled so that the ‘child does not become daddy or mummy’s hostage”. He noted that there are many families with ‘irregular situations’ in the world.

Nigeria Is Broke Because Some People Have Stolen So Much- Oshiomole

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to go after those who have stolen the country’s money.

Addressing newsmen after the meeting of the governors on Wednesday, Oshiomole noted that the country’s financial issues was not just because oil prices had fallen but because some people had deliberately milked the nation’s treasury dry.

His words, “I think the media is not being accurate, the country is bankrupt, not just the states. The Federal Government’s finances are even worse, considering that they borrowed over N4 trillion. The entire funds for pension scheme has been drawn down by the Federal Government. It is because they borrow at will that you can’t seem to see that they are also bankrupt. So, when we talk of bankruptcy, we should be talking about serious national economic crisis that is not limited to states…”

I Don’t Know Why People Are Anxious For Ministers- Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari explained, yesterday, that he was yet to appoint his ministers because his predecessor’s transition committee submitted its report on the previous administration to him late.

Buhari, who spoke to newsmen at the Summit of the African Union in Johannesburg, South Africa, said he was being careful in order not to make mistakes in appointing individuals especially to key positions such as in the finance and petroleum ministries.

His words: “I don’t know why people are so anxious about ministers. But eventually we will have (them). But the main reason is that I have an interim committee which I agreed with the former President Jonathan that the ministers of the outgoing government should hand over their notes or their documents to this interim committee so that a position can be prepared for the new government to start from with clear records from ministers.

#PAUSIBILITY: ARMISTICE WITH AN EYE CYST?- ADEBAYO COKER

imagesOne of the news items, in fact, it was reeled as a Breaking News item, last weekend was the Ceasefire Deal that was entered into by the FGN with Boko Haram. I am sure so many of us will say it is a welcome development; but immediately I saw that piece on Channels TV I knew this is another of those displays of mental incapacity to think right and to act right by the crop of managers in charge of our state affairs.

I am sure many of us must have been reading different analyses and commentaries on why this particular ceasefire is defective. I have my wholesome reservations too about the deal but I will only employ Maieutics to drive home my point.

No one is trying to ridicule the efforts being made by the government to restore peace and orderliness in the land but when the same government does not act with sincerity of purpose then one isn’t left with any other option than to express one’s doubt. For those that will say I am being paid for this apologue, I will try to answer you in this manner, Yes, I am a progressive but not at all a party to Aggrieved People’s Consortium neither am I a game player amongst the Progress Destructive People. I believe you will employ strict ingenuity in reading this piece.

Ceasefire or armistice as I understand it by the teachings in my Public and International Affairs Master’s programme, is a truce agreed to between opponents so they can discuss peace terms. But remember, the FG on many occasions has come out to announce that everything is normal. The salacious man that was employed as a ravelin to the handler of information from Aso Rock had, in fact, in his usual impaired intelligence, queried peoples’ analyses of the State Of The Nation to the end that the country is at war.

I just want to ask some questions:

Why did it take you, the FGN so many months before this purported  peace brokerage, even when it was obvious that that is the first option in  ‘procuring’ peace, rather than ammunition? The lame explanation is that “government doesn’t negotiate with terrorists”. But would anyone in this government feign deaf or blind when few months ago ‘the almighty’ USA exchanged five deadly terrorist cell leaders for the life of just one of their citizens?

Just few days ago, we were told that Shekau, the mad dog leader of Boko Haram was killed. When people raised doubts as usual, the government in her usual manner intimidated the public and asked that evidence of his being alive be provided. In short, the FG was beating its chest that Shekau has been mauled in one of those heavy bombings of the sect’s hideouts. But the same government made a submission that Shekau agreed to the armistice. I wonder when the dead started agreeing to the deals of the living. When they announced that he had been killed I said to myself, ‘it is a matter of time’. Here we are.

Would the ceasefire deal entered into with Boko Haram by the FGN include the restoration of the dignity of those innocent girls and women who were raped and or kidnapped from their homes and schools, or the lives of harmless and ‘armless’ people that were killed in cold blood, on a daily basis by these religious rapists?

Would it include restoring the cattle that were stolen or burnt and the farmlands and homes of agrarian communities that were destroyed?

Why is the ceasefire coming in the wake of few months to the General elections? I am sure some of us will say the timing isn’t of importance since it has happened all the same. Very good point. But I will like people to understand that if there is no peace in the land, the chance of this government’s continued stay in office is slim; and when is a better time to score political points other than now? Thus we may have to call the sincerity behind the move to question.

Why the sudden jerk to responsibility just at the wake of a promise to restore the nation’s integrity and security by a Presidential candidate of the opposition if elected?

Why go to South Africa to disgrace us in the bid to procure ammunition through the ‘back door’ if you had this ‘armistice deal’ ongoing:  because I know the discussion precluded the ‘arm procurement’ saga?

If the CDS could order his men to stand down, does he know that less than 24hrs after his announcement, these animals still perpetrated their nefariousness by ravaging some towns in Adamawa state and in about 72hrs to that, some women were also abducted? Just yesterday, Azare town in Bauchi was visited by a carnage that consumed about 5 lives. This same CDS told us he knew where those girls are being kept.

I have many questions on my mind but I know if only they could answer these few ones, you will see some form of culpability in this mess.

In all, I share the pains of the abducted girls as well as their parents, likewise the pains of those that have lost their loved ones in one way or the other to this ravaging insurgence in the land. I grieve for the families of the members of our armed forces that have paid and continue to pay the ultimate price in this ongoing onslaught by the insurgents. In this wise, I join the members of the public again to ask that this government be responsible enough to act right.

THE EGG. THE HEN

Wonder when these old crop will leave the centre stage to allow young bloods take the reins. The other day, a man that is in his seventies, picked a nomination form at his party secretariat to campaign for the post of President.  He was flanked on all sides by young men and women that I believe should be expressing their intent to turn this land of ours around, rather than being escorts.
