Mariah Carey Begged Nick Cannon For Divorce So She Could Remarry- Report

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s divorce was finalized because the singer begged him.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the 46-year-old reportedly called her ex-husband pleading with him to sign their divorce papers because she wanted to marry her fiancé the Australian businessman, James Packer. This is believed to have happened just days before she split with the billionaire.

“I want you to sign the divorce papers. I really want to get married to James Packer,” Carey reportedly told Cannon in a phone call.

Carey and Cannon ended their marriage in August 2014 but their divorce dragged on for nearly two years over custody of their twins. However, according to several reports, they finally settled on an agreement.

“Nick and Mariah’s divorce was dragging on and on, mainly because of the back and forth between their lawyers. Mariah’s team brought in [famed L.A. divorce attorney] Laura Wasser, who helped simplify things, but then Mariah called Nick and said, ‘I really want to get married. Will you sign these papers?’ Nick was cool and said, ‘I’m not going to stand in your way. I’ll sign the papers,’” a source told the Post.

But a couple of days later, Carey and Packer’s relationship blew up, and they split.

According to a report by TMZ, Carey and Packer’s lawyers had been negotiating a pre-nuptial agreement, and he was demanding they rush the document after being told it would not be ready in time for a March 1 wedding.

The pre-nup was never signed, and now Carey is demanding Packer pay her a $50 million settlement, because that’s the amount she would have received from the unsigned pre-nup.

Nick Cannon couldn’t be happier that his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, has moved on in her love life — but admits that he’s “not ready” to get back out there just yet.

Ellen DeGeneres couldn’t believe it when the America’s Got Talent host revealed that he wasn’t seeing anyone.

“I wouldn’t say dating. I mean I have friends and we hang out, but I’m not ready to do anything seriously,” he explained. “Especially because I’m really trying to make sure I can establish being in my kids life and working. I’m always so busy. So if I’m not working, they’re my number one priority.”

Not letting it go, DeGeneres asked if Cannon was at least getting “booty calls.”

“No, I’m being celibate I’m trying to work on myself,” the Chi-Raq star revealed. “No sex right now.”

Cannon means it when he says all his time goes to his 4-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The 35-year-old even spent Thanksgiving with Carey and the kids. “Yeah it’s family. That’s a family time and we’ll always be family,” he said. “We make the kids the number one priority, for them to see their parents together and for everybody to get along and have a great time.”

Nick Cannon has only nice things to say about his ex-wife Mariah Carey, and he’s even cool with Carey’s new boyfriend.

Cannon appeared as a guest on “The Howard Stern Show” on Wednesday, and opened up about his relationship with Carey.

Carey, 45, and Cannon, 35, split in August 2014 after six years of marriage, and the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer started dating Australian billionaire James Packer in 2015.

“Hey, how about Mariah bouncing back since the divorce. She’s with a billionaire, dude,” Stern said.

“That’s awesome, isn’t it?” Cannon replied. When Stern commented about the quick turnaround of relationships, Cannon laughed it off.

“It happened a lot faster than you thought,” Cannon said. “She’s Mariah Carey!”

“As long as she’s happy and my children are happy, I’m happy,” the actor continued.

MARIAH Carey’s brother fears her drinking will kill her, claiming the star could end up like doomed singer, Whitney Houston.

Carey’s brother, Morgan — who hasn’t spoken to the singer in two years — fears the star is unable to care for her four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe because he believes she is trying to numb her problems with alcohol.

Alleging that she has been a heavy drinker since suffering from mental health problems in 2001, Morgan said: ‘Mariah was drinking through her pregnancy, even while she was nursing. I can’t say that I have ever been around her when she was sober, and that’s very scary.’ Morgan also claimed his 45-year-old sister takes a daily cocktail of medications including Zyprexa, Ativan and Depakote, and fears she will ‘die like Whitney Houston’.

He added to the National Enquirer magazine:
‘She does not have a support system, and she is not mentally capable.’ Morgan is concerned the ‘Without You’ singer has ‘pushed away the only people who’ve been trustworthy and will blame her entourage if anything does happen to her.’ He said: ‘If my sister turns up dead … I’m not going to look the other way! Anyone who’s filling her glass is jeopardising her life!’

Mariah’s brother also branded her estranged husband, Nick Cannon a ‘crock of s**t’ who wasn’t good for his sister and was only interested in money. He said: ‘Nick listened to people who said, ‘Get with Mariah, she thinks you’re cute, have kids and ride it to the bank.’ Nick was there for the cash from day one. Nick Cannon Covers ‘Mariah’ Tattoo With a Massive Back Piece.

Three months after officially filing for divorce from Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon has completely covered up the tattoo he got shortly after they got married in 2008.

Back in October, Cannon masked the word “Mariah” inked across his shoulder blades with the image of a crucifix. Now he’e elaborated further, spending 30 hours in a chair to get a tat so elaborate it covers nearly his entire back. It’s so majestic it earned him the cover of Urban Inkmagazine.

The entire process was documented by photographer Pep Williams for a spread that will appear in the magazine’s new issue.

While Cannon already had the crucifix, he made considerable additions to it, including two cherubs on either side, representing his children Monroe and Moroccan, and script that reads, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do” on his lower back.

Tattoos are nothing new for Cannon, but he’s been on something of a kick of late, Instagramming pictures of himself getting work done on his arm just two weeks ago and then again four days ago.

“Whatever you’re doing in that moment and you’re feeling in that moment, embrace it. You’re gonna have to live with it, but it’s just a decision,” Cannon told Yahoo Tuesday about his tattoo decision-making process. “I live my life like that and I make spur-of-the-moment decisions quite often and I want my being to express that; so it’s one of those things where people are saying, ‘Oh I can’t believe you did that,’ or ‘That’s scary.’ I love that. I like going against the grain.”

Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Lawsuit: Ex-Nanny Claims She Was Fired After Showing Twins ‘Too Much Affection’

In the lawsuit filed in New York district court Wednesday, Simonette DaCosta claims she worked for Carey and Cannon as a nanny, caring for the couple’s twins Monroe and Moroccan — but was fired after showing the tots too much attention. And as the suit paints things, Carey kept DaCosta pretty busy.

“Ms. Carey would often call Plaintiff at hours in the middle of the night and demand to be taken to her children or to be updated as to the status of her children,” said legal papers obtained by TheWrap. “Mrs. Carey would not tolerate any delay when she called and Plaintiff had to attend to her every demand, spontaneous or otherwise, whether called upon during the day or in the middle of the night,” the lawsuit reads.

That all changed, the lawsuit says, when “Mrs. Carey terminated Plaintiff after berating her for exhibiting too much affection towards her children.”

Details emerged during the weekend regarding the prenuptial agreement between divorcing entertainers Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.

The document, said TMZ.com, specifies that five-time Grammy Award-winning singer Carey, 45, is worth $150 million and that singer-actor and “America’s Got Talent” host Cannon, 34, came into their 2008 marriage with less than $500,000. He has since earned millions of dollars independent of his estranged wife. TMZ said the document also contained a confidentiality clause, with a $250,000 penalty for Cannon should he violate it, and a $500,000 penalty for Carey.

Cannon had quietly filed divorce papers on Dec. 12 and the news did not become public until Friday, said TMZ.

Cannon reportedly had confirmed rumors of a pending divorce on Aug. 21, when the syndicated entertainment-news show “The Insider” quoted him saying, “There is trouble in paradise . . . We have been living in separate houses for a few months.”

He denied this in a series of tweets on Sept. 3, writing that, “Because my family & I haven’t been forthcoming with personal information, people are quick to paint negative pictures and spread rumours. For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage,” adding that, ” ‘Trouble in Paradise’ is the dumbest phrase I’ve ever heard!”

Despite their marital woes, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey will be spending Christmas together with their 3-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

“Gotta keep that going. I want to make sure we have a wonderful holiday together,” Cannon told In Touch Weekly. As for where they’ll be celebrating, the America’s Got Talent host replied, “Somewhere cold and snowy, like Aspen [Colorado].”

Reports say that issues surrounding the divorce of Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa, has absolutely nothing to do with Nick Cannon as his camp say don’t put his name in the divorce drama between Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa.
