Igbos Most Truthful, Committed, Yet Misunderstood– Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, on Monday described the Igbos as “the most truthful, committed and trust -worthy people but often misunderstood in the country.’’

Speaking when he received the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, in Government House, Owerri, Okorocha said that Imo had witnessed tremendous progress under his leadership.

He described Imo as as “one of the safest states’’ in Nigeria, where there was no more kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and baby factory syndrome.

He attributed the relative peace and security in the state to the efforts of the security agencies, especially the Nigerian army.

He commended the military for the successes being recorded in the fight against insurgency and terrorism in the North East.

He noted that such successes had not been achieved in Syria and other parts of the world battling terrorism.

Okorocha also commended the army for the “Exercise Crocodile Smile” and newly introduced “Exercise Python Dance” in the South-South and South-East zone.

He urged the security agencies to do whatever they could to secure the pipelines to enable free flow of oil to generate revenue for the nation.

He promised to continue to support the army.

Earlier, Buratai told the governor that he was in the state for the 2018 Chief of Army Staff Conference.

He told the governor that “Python Dance” was an exercise to update troops in the South- East on their rudiments and basics of their job.

Buratai said during the conference, the army would offer free medical services to the people of the state.

Most Biafran Agitators Did Not See Civil War– Ezeemo

A frontline industrialist, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, has called on the pro-Biafra protesters to have a re-think of their actions and consider its consequences on the generality of the Igbo residing in different parts of the country and tread with caution.

He said grounding businesses in the South East, destroying properties of their brothers, and preventing women from fending for their families, among other negative implications of violent protests, do not give credibility to their call, rather dialogue and diplomacy must be employed in resolving any issue of interest, not war or confrontational principle.

Ezeemo said that 99.9 per cent of the people parading themselves today as pro- Biafra crusaders and going about their agitation in a violent manner did not see or experience the 1967- 1970 Nigerian civil war and as such do not know the consequences of their action.

He called on the protesters to go home and ask their parents, uncles, war veterans in their various localities what it means to incite war and its benefits. “There is nothing good that will come out of conflict, confusion, crisis, not to talk of war where every where will be in comatose…”

Who Dethroned Beyonce As Most Popular Person On Instagram?

Beyoncé is no longer the queen of Instagram. According to Tech Insider, Kim Kardashian West stole the crown from Mrs. Carter on Monday morning with her current follower tally coming in at 44,005,604? to Beyoncé’s 43,935,648?.

Tech Insider notes that Kim’s account has been growing at a faster rate than Beyoncé’s and attributes this in part to Kim’s higher post frequency as well as her tendency to actually caption things.

Beyoncé, as you know, usually opts for single emoji captions or nothing at all, but apparently the people have come out in favor of candidness. Neither party has commented on this changing of the guard but expect copious selfies soon (as well as a valiant follower push from the Beyhive).
