Jesus returns to training

Brazilian sensation Gabriel Jesus boosted Manchester City’s trophy hopes as he returned to training earlier than expected on his 20th birthday, the club revealed on its website.

The striker — who joined City in the January transfer window after they paid Palmeiras an initial £27 million ($33 million, 31 million euros) — made a sensational start to his English career with three goals in five matches.

His hot streak was stopped in its tracks when he broke a bone in his foot against Bournemouth in mid-February — he was expected to be out for between two and three months.

“The early prognosis (of the injury) suggesting he could be out until the end of the season.

“He recently began working in the gym in a bid to keep his fitness levels high -– and this afternoon, on his 20th birthday, he returned to the training field just seven weeks after his initial setback.

“And although he didn’t take part in full training, focusing instead on some light ball work, it’s a sight City fans will nonetheless have been pleased to see

“We wish Gabriel well in his continued recovery and hope to see him back in a blue shirt as soon as possible.”

His return comes at a timely moment for City manager Pep Guardiola, who is desperate to maintain his record of never going trophyless through a season with any club he has managed.

City’s best hopes of ensuring that proud record stands is perhaps in the FA Cup where they face Arsenal in the semi-finals later this month. In the league they are 11 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.

Ooni Of Ife celebrates Christmas, calls Jesus an embodiment of forgiveness

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, had while celebrating Christmas said Jesus Christ is an embodiment of forgiveness.

He further described Jesus Christ as the Lord of peace and love with an unparalleled forgiving spirit who should always be remembered and honoured with the existence of love and peace by Christians.

According to him, that was the only way harmonious co-existence can be achieved not only within the ranks of his followers but also among the members of the larger global society for whom Jesus lived and died over 2000 years ago.

The traditional ruler made this known on Christmas Day.

In a statement signed by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Comrade Moses Olafare, the Ooni wished all Christians in Nigeria and across the globe a merry Christmas.

He charged religious leaders to always lead by example by not just preaching but always act like Jesus if their followers should take them seriously.

The statement reads: “People of the world must see themselves as one before the God almighty and must treat one another with forgiveness, peace and love as symbolized by Jesus Christ if the world must be a conducive place for everyone to survive.

“There is no greater gift and honour you can give to Jesus Christ other than exhibition of forgiving spirit, display of love and ensurance of absolute peace because these are what the lord Jesus symbolizes.

“We all must see ourselves as equal before the almighty God who purposefully created us with different cultural backgrounds.

“The surest way of achieving the much needed global harmony is when we always imbibe the spirit of forgiveness and extend hand of love and peace to one another, with this Jesus Christ will be happy in heaven.

“God will always smile to us and of course the world will become a better place for all of us to dwell happily,” the statement added.

Man Claiming To Be Jesus Attempts To Abduct Obama Family Dog

A heavily armed man claiming to be Jesus allegedly plotted to kidnap one of the Obama family’s dogs and has been arrested, US media and officials said.

Scott Stockert, 49, was arrested at a Washington hotel Wednesday after Secret Service agents found unregistered firearms in his truck, together with hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a machete and a club, NBC Washington said, citing authorities in the US capital.

Agents went to the hotel after getting a “be on the lookout” alert from the Secret Service’s Minnesota field office about the alleged kidnapping plan, NBC said.

It quoted the Secret Service as saying that Stockert, from North Dakota, allegedly planned to take Bo, one of the two Portuguese water dogs owned by President Barack Obama and the first family.

Court documents show that Stockert was released on Friday to a “high-intensity supervision program” and ordered not to possess any firearms or other dangerous weapons, either real or imitation.

He was charged with possession of an unregistered firearm and ordered to stay away from the White House and the Capitol.

As well as claiming to be Jesus, Stockert told agents that his parents were John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe, NBC said, citing court papers.

See It? Jesus Appears In Family Photo By Statue Of Christ (PHOTO)

Did Jesus really appear next to a Colombian family as they posed by a gigantic statue of Christ?

That’s what Colombian man Juan David Montano is claiming – after he spotted a spooky outline on the digital image of his relatives.

The 22-year-old was on a family trip to the 26-metre high Cristo Rey near Cali on Sunday when they all posed for the snap.

But he was left stunned when he checked the picture – and saw a phantom-like figure dressed in a white long robe.

Montano believes it was Jesus.

“I was stunned. Something like a ghost dressed in white clothes can be seen,” he told local media.

“There were a lot of people around and when I showed it to a man, he got scared and remained quiet.

“When we took the photo, we didn’t see anything around us, but when we looked at the image, this shape had appeared,” he added.

His neighbours have suggested it was actually a ghost.

“A neighbour who practices Santeria said that it looks fuzzy, because when the photo was taken the ghost was not yet manifested well,” he told Noticias Caracol.

But Montano remains sure it was the Son of God who appeared to his family.

Muslims Predict Jesus Will Defeat ISIS, Beginning in 2015

All right, it might not start until 2016, these things can be awfully hard to predict exactly. However, surprising as it may seem, one way or another the end of ISIS is in sight, and it’s all resting securely in the hands of Jesus, peace be upon him.

There has been a great deal of mainstream media attention lately, both video and print, regarding the fact that ISIS is recruiting based on the promise that their fighters are actually participating in the rapidly approaching end of the world.

At the same time, mainstream orthodox Muslim websites are already predicting Jesus’ return as early as 2022, starting an Islamic prophetic clock set to run over the next 7 years, in the purportedly rapidly approaching run-up to Armageddon.

The good news is that even if they’re wrong, those claims ISIS is making about their own role in Islamic end-time prophecy spell their own certain end. Because even though ISIS claims they’re fighting on the side of the angels, it’s obvious they’re not,and it should become progressively clearer to even the most misguided Jihadi that either ISIS is wrong about Armageddon or that they’re on the wrong side, because of all the things Muslims know are supposed to happen.

And if it turns out they’re right, then we can all rest assured that by the time the dust has finally settled there will be no question left about who’s side they are really on, because it’s all going to be about Jesus.

Frankly, although I’d like to believe the orthodox predictions are correct, I think they’re premature, and that ISIS is crazy-stupid. We had a very informative event up here in Calgary last month hosted by the US State Department, where Dr. Michael Ryan of the Middle East Institute shared his valuable insights into ISIS’ recruiting strategy. We learned that ISIS actually complains in their internal communiqués about their difficulty recruiting informed Muslims, because “Islam makes them tend towards life and their community”. They find more success attracting Muslims they call “losers” — ignorant about their Islamic faith and marginalized by drugs, alcoholism, crime, mental illness or recent life-changing events. That’s not the sort of Muslim you would expect to know much about the religion, or to make good life — or end-of-life — choices either. Given that, I think we can discount their validity of their “good-guy” claims, even despite their despicable and deplorable actions which should in themselves be sufficient.

But even if we considered that they might be right about the impending apocalypse, what sort of events should the next few years bring according to confirmed Islamic eschatology?

  • First, the Euphrates River should soon be uncovering a mountain of gold, with the Arabian Peninsula becoming filled with meadows and rivers.
  • Then, some Muslims throughout the world will be inexplicably transformed into apes and pigs because of their attempts to make lawful some rather significant major sins. Personally, I think that one’s aimed squarely at al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al Shabab and ISIS and their associates, and their rather liberal views regarding murder, tumult, oppression and slavery.
  • Then shortly thereafter you can expect the coming of the Mahdi, his uncovering of the Ark of the Covenant and his evangelism of a significant proportion of the world’s Jews, who will wake up and realize that they shouldn’t be ignoring and allowing Israel’s oppressing Muslims and Christians in Palestine.
  • Then, you will see the coming of al-Masih ad-Dajjal –the false Messiah or anti-Christ– the descent of ‘Isa ibn Maryam [‘alayhis-salam] –that’s Jesus– and his defeat of the anti-Christ followed by the coming of Ya’juj and Ma’juj –Gog and Magog–,followed by:
  • The rising of the sun from the west
  • The appearance of the Beast of the Earth
  • The wind that will take the souls of the believers
  • The ruin of al-Madinah –Medina–
  • The destruction of the Ka’bah –Mecca– by the Abyssinians
  • And the fire that will come from the Yemen to gather the people in Sham before the coming of Judgement Day.

I think you’ll all have to admit, that’s a lot to pack into the next seven years and it’s going to be hard to miss.
And with that 7 year clock running, if it all doesn’t start happening soon, you can expect to see ISIS supporters starting to slip away.

But if it does come true, what sort of a man is the Mahdi supposed to be? Muslim prophecies are actually frighteningly clear, and do seem to predict the current state of affairs in the Levant, hold out hope for the rest of us and promise an end to ISIS.

The Opposition Won’t Leave ‘President Jesus’ Alone By Irabor Justin Ikhide

I was three years old when he was born, so, yes, I have practically watched this man grow up. It is quite unfortunate that the rest of the world does not think for itself, so it becomes my designated responsibility to assume introspection for the passengers onboard this toxic planet.

I would give it to him: his expensive foreign PR has done some forward thinking. The very first publication about him was that he is some uncorrupt, unblemished and untainted redeemer sent to pry this country from the degrading quicksand which clutches ever so desperately and steadfastly to it. Quickly, he formed his own party, a band of pretentious people (and I submitted a document to SaharaReporters which exposes the sordid pasts of these ‘disciples’) who have often veered towards violence and zealotry – and that’s on their good days.

One doesn’t even need to dig too deeply into the archives nowadays – thankfully, the internet never forgets – to remember the highly publicized event from his childhood when his mother took him for Bishop Oyedepo’s Shiloh event (inside sources say it was to cast out the hideous spirit of a god complex which has plagued him, even in adulthood). As you will recall, he snuck out on his mother and joined a group of unscrupulous men, where he attempted – at that astonishingly young age – to misdirect them about the political status quo. I hope that you, dear reader, can see how dangerous such a kid was, that he could sway adult interest his way. Imagine how much danger the polity would be in the hands of such a smooth-talking serpentine personality?

There are those who would swear by his stellar character, but we recall that the first formal wedding he attended as a local government personnel, Linda Ikeji caught him drinking alcohol and telling everyone who cared to listen that it was actually water.

And, oh, how the world has provided an alibi to his lie. Several times, he has cancelled public appearances and I have published that it was because your ‘leader’ was too ‘wasted’ to attend. Twice I have been threatened by John Thunderman, that crazed special assistant on media. I do not have pictorial evidence yet to support my claim, but some of your ‘leader’s’ erratic behaviour would suggest that he may be doing marijuana as well.

Anyway. Back to the Linda Ikeji blog post. When he was asked by the blogger about the obvious glass of alcoholic wine in his hands, he lied. Of course, he would give such a lie – he was obviously totally inebriated at the time, and I heard that he even proclaimed to his own mother that ‘his time had not yet come.’

Personally, that statement was most interesting. What did he, a lowly carpenter from Otuoke (who was no more than a member of a local government council), mean by ‘my time has not yet come’? Ah, but the answer is more obvious than anyone cares to admit.

His Godfathers have been prepping him for a seat at the presidency even before he knew what a ‘constitution’ meant. I have had word with Baba sometimes, and while Baba says he is ‘my son with whom I am well pleased,’ baba endeavors to be properly vague so that his ‘son’s’ steps are well-covered from my fiercely truth-seeking pen.

Arguably, baba is the greatest political mind in this country, so I spared not much time trying to get him to slip, but dug further into his godson’s files. Do not forget that this Otuoke man stormed the house of representatives with policemen and whipped the speaker of the house, barring the house from sitting. What was his reason? He said they had turned the nation into a den of thieves. Hah! What hypocrisy. It will be recalled that when Femi Fani-Kayode wrote in 2007 that this man accommodated tax collectors with undeclared assets and that none of his party members had done time for their embezzlement, he had simply brushed it aside during a May 1st speech, saying cryptically, ‘there is no need to fast while the groom is still around.’ I guess he picked up that proverb from the crafty old tortoise, baba.

The elections are round the corner, and the Otuoke man will need to tell us: in 3 and a half years of service, what have you been able to achieve? His party is already clogging up as many media agencies as they can. I was immensely impressed with CNN when they refused to allow his propaganda air on their networks – although it begs the question: why is his party campaigning abroad, spending taxpayers’ money on people that are not even eligible voters?

Ah, he had an answer for that one as well. Recently, in a Channels TV interview, he said: “People ask me why I have campaign posters abroad. It is quite simple: my leadership of hope isn’t only for people in my country – it is for the world.”

I say, ‘rubbish’. This is a man who, I heard from Peter Obaseki, his special adviser on public affairs, wouldn’t even pay his tax from actual money from his own pocket. I hear he goes to the sea to pry money from citizens there to pay his tax. Nobody would publish these sort of things, of course, because Otuoke man is wise: he knows that once the media is gagged, you can get away with murder.

The other day, he mixed mud and his saliva and splattered it in the eyes of an ordinary citizen. Yet this same man has the guts to accuse Adams Oshiomhole – who apologized a few million nairas afterwards – of not being ‘public-spirited.’

Comparing Jonathan to Jesus By Lanre Shadiya

I thought it was another taunting of Dr. Doyin Okupe by his numerous (rightly?) detractors when I heard he compared Mr. President to Jesus Christ until I saw it on Channels TV. I froze as the words came out of his mouth that “People don’t understand the burden that this President is bearing, he is like JESUS CHRIST – he is bearing the burden of everyone”

Politics, in Nigeria, we all know is a dirty game. While it involves cooperation, collaborations, lobbying and alliances, it is also full of antics, maneuvers, blackmails, intimidations, coercions and sometimes violence and even death. Personally, I have nothing against politicians and their money-bought modern day slaves mudslinging themselves – it has proven to be one of the things that has kept societal humor going in Nigeria. However, I believe things are taken too far when the comparison suddenly leaves the realms of human and is targeted at the SON OF GOD.

Dr. Okupe by age, is supposed to be called and regarded as an elder. With that title comes some expectations and responsibilities. His current function in the Presidency notwithstanding, he should understand that Politics and religion are two things that should not go together, especially in Nigeria. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has been equaled to the likes of Mandela, Martin Luther King (Jr.) and Barack Obama and we are fine with that. It is the responsibility of a trumpet owner to blow it however he or she likes but, we all know that blowing a trumpet loud does not necessarily translate to producing good music. To move this comparison to JESUS CHRIST is religiously suicidal, utterly blasphemous and absolutely unacceptable. Not even the Adeboyes, Oyedepos or Kumuyis of this world can or should lay such a claim. Even the minimally sane will tell you that the Catholic Pope is only a human representation of God on earth.

I thought about juxtaposing the differences between Mr. President and Jesus Christ and then realized that doing such will be putting Dr. Jonathan, a man and mere mortal beside the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH. ABOMINATION! Let Dr. Okupe know that this is not about his boss. Not at all. This is about EVERY MAN and WOMAN that has ever lived, is living or will ever live. Only a leprosy infected mind will ever reason along the line of comparing a WALKING SAND to the EVERLASTING KING. Despite the accomplishments, belief, passion and recognition of John the Baptist in God’s work, this is what he said of Jesus “HE is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.” (John 1:27, NIV).

While acknowledging that PRESIDENTS ALL OVER THE WORLD carry the responsibilities of their countries, this is in no way a burden like that carried by Jesus Christ. To liken both shows a shallow thought process that falls way below the minimum entry level into any children’s church in the Christian world. How can we compare the burden of creating jobs, Power and Security with that of granting ETERNAL LIFE? If we go by Dr Doyin Okupe’s theory then we should call the likes of Xi Jinping and Narendra Mudi of China and India respectively GODS since they both have the burdens of over 1.2 BILLION people to bear? I want to think within me that the President, if he has heard this, will call Dr. Okupe to order on this. According to Isaiah 42:8 (NIV) God said “I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols” If Dr. Okupe is putting the President in the same league with Jesus, the repercussion on Okupe, and indeed, the President himself cannot even be imagined. I pray none happens.

It has reached a point in Dr. Okupe’s life where he has to sit himself down and ask himself serious questions about his believes, values and the next chapter or chapters in his life. Obviously no one has decided to do that for him or he chose to ignore those who tried. I wish him long life but he should know that he is closer to his grave than to his crib. If he is a Christian as he claims, he will know that PDP government or the Nigerian Presidency cannot appeal any judgment-day decision. It should be common sense to him that there should have been no comparison between Jonathan of Nigeria and Jesus of Nazareth. To do this, or continue to justify this, is to bring the wrath of the Nazarene upon the Nigerian.
