Usain Bolt Runs Circles Around James Corden In Rap Battle

He may be the fastest man on earth but Usain Bolt can also spit some serious rhymes.

The 30-year-old Olympic athlete beat The Late Late Show host James Corden in an epic Drop the Mic rap battle on Wednesday’s show where he poked fun at the Brit’s weight, among other jibes.

‘I can’t believe you entered this battle to be a winner, you only can outrun me if someone yells ‘dinner’, Usain cheekily rapped at the TV host.

The sprinter gave it his best trash talk as the segment started telling the actor: ‘I was born ready, you’re on my track now, I don’t care, I win everywhere.’

As the beat started Corden, 38, started strong as he came at the Jamaican star saying: ‘After all those races you won in Brazil, you’re about to lose to a man who’s standing still.

‘Now athletes aren’t great at math, so I hope this helps. You have 14 gold medals less than Michael Phelps.’

Usain rapped at the host: 'You think you’re a star, but little do you know, most people in here think they’re watching the Kevin James show.'

But Usain had the crowd in giggles as he hit back: ‘You think you’re a star, but little do you know, most people in here think they’re watching the Kevin James show.’

Corden came back with: ‘Jamaicans all love you, which is no surprise, for a country where one in three people is high,’

The English star also quipped: ‘You’re f**kin’ six foot five so look out everybody Frankenstein has arrived!’

The Olympian mocked the host’s prowess in bed as well as his show’s ratings.

‘I have nine gold medals, last time I checked – I have one for every time that you had sex.’

He also rapped: ‘This show should end faster than one of my sprints.’

When Corden compared the sportsman’s Olympic effort to the Jamaican bobsled team from movie Cool Runnings Usain hit back: ‘So you saw Cool Runnings on your couch one night, while I was in the gym, to make that movie my life,’

Corden poked fun at Usain for having a career that 'people only care about once every four years' and suggested once his endorsements dry up he could get a job bringing him coffee

He also suggested once his endorsements dry up he could get a job on the show bringing him coffee.

Other great lines from the athlete included, ‘I can’t die worse than you do here every night’, ‘have you ever seen me lose to a white guy?’ and ‘My neck is starting to hurt, hold on, hold my gold medals’.

Michelle Obama’s Carpool Karaoke Was Huge For Song Sales

James Corden is a quite the salesman.

After First Lady Michelle Obama and hip hop legend Missy Elliott joined Corden for Carpool Karaoke on the Late Late Show, sales for the songs they sang surged, according to data from Nielsen

One of the tracks the trio performed on the July 20 show was “This Song Is For My Girls,” which was released in March by Obama, Elliott and slew of other stars to promote the First Lady’s Let Girls Learn initiative.

Its digital sales jumped a staggering 1,562% compared to the previous week.

That’s good news for the Peace Corps’ Let Girls Learn Fund, which collects all the proceeds from the sale of that song.

Corden and his guest stars also belted Elliot’s 2001 hit “Get Ur Freak On,” which saw weekly sales soar 312%, and Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies,” which jumped 42%. Nielsen also said that streams of Stevie Wonder’s song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” climbed 76.5% after the song was performed on Carpool Karaoke.

It’s typical for Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segement — which regularly features A-list stars — to boost a song’s sales. But the star power of Obama and Elliot appearing the week before the Democratic National Convention amplified the effect, said David Bakula, Nielsen’s senior music industry analyst.

“It’s the social nature of it. It drives it beyond the audience,” Bakula said, pointing to the viral way a clip of the segment spread across the internet. On YouTube, it garnered more than 37 million views.

Michelle Obama joins James Corden on Carpool Karaoke

US First Lady Michelle Obama is joining James Corden in his hit sketch Carpool Karaoke this week.

A preview showed the pair dancing to Beyonce’s Single Ladies.

The clip, posted on AOL’s Makers website, shows Corden arriving at the White House for a tour before Mrs Obama gets into his car.

The footage, which was recorded last month in Washington DC, will air on the British star’s Late, Late Show in the US on Wednesday.

Mrs Obama is seen telling the presenter: “I hear you’re here for a 1.45 tour and I had a little time on my hands so you want to go for a spin?”

The First Lady then tells Corden she “rarely” gets to listen to music in the car and the only time she has ever sat in the front passenger seat “rocking out” was when one of her daughters was learning to drive.

Other stars who have appeared on Carpool Karaoke include Adele, Sir Elton John and Stevie Wonder.

Corden began hosting The Late, Late Show in March last year.
