How We Helped Metuh Exchange $2million- Witnesses

Two witnesses brought before a Federal High Court in Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have told the court how the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, and his company, Dextra Investments Limited, transferred the sum of $2million allegedly collected from the office of the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The first prosecution witness, Nneka Ararume, a wealth manager dealing in management of equities, fixed income instruments and real estate, said she collected the sum of $2million dollars from Mr. Metuh sometime in December 2014.

She said she changed the dollars into Nigerian currency and had it transferred to Mr. Metuh’s account.

The second witness, a bureau de change operator, said he had the sum of $1 million dollars exchanged to N183 million and transferred to the account of Dextra Investments Limited.

He however said he had no knowledge of either Mr. Metuh or his company, Dextra investment Limited, before that time.

Drake Helped Me Shed My Ego- Kanye West

Back in March, Kanye West delivered a lecture to the Oxford Guild Society and dropped a few gems. Thankfully, video footage of the speech was finally released. The rapper spoke on many things, from his biggest weaknesses, to his ego, and even about how Drake has helped him along the way. “One of my biggest problems, one of my biggest Achille’s heels has been my ego,” West says. “And if I, Kanye West, the very person, can remove my ego, I think there’s hope for everyone.”

And if you’re wondering who might’ve been a helping hand in Kanye’s new mindset then Drake would be the main man behind it all. “I think that that’s been a progression of mind with the advent of a human being named Drake,” West shares. “You know, this idea of holding onto a No. 1 spot. And then you get this guy that comes and blows out the water, every No. 1 of any band ever. Be it me or Paul McCartney. And at the point, you know, when you’ve lost the idea of holding onto that concept, you can leave the mountaintop finally, and walk down, and readjust, and see what your position on earth can be.”

Mr. West even tapped into a little vulnerability throughout his speech as he revealed that he has now learned his true sense of purpose as an artist. “I’ve had all of these mixed emotions, mixed feelings, based off you know, bigotries, walls, perceptions that I’ve had to deal with,” West expressed. “Ones that drove me to titles like ‘Black Skinhead’ or ‘I Am A God.’ Now I understand that I’m a servant. And with my voice, and with the information and my ability to build relationships with amazing people, speak to amazing people.”

Mr. Gani said in the course of protecting the pipelines, the group lost two of its members to the vandals, adding that several others also sustained various degree of injuries, and are still undergoing medical treatment.

The Congress leader said he was optimistic that the authorities of the NNPC would not renege on the contract agreement since it was a legal agreement.

Sultan Helped Me Become Speaker- Dogara

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has thanked the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, for helping him emerge Speaker.

To emerge speaker, Mr. Dogara defeated his challenger, Femi Gbajabiamila, who was supported by their party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Speaking at a Thanksgiving Service held in his honour at the Church of Christ in all Nations, COCIN, Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi State, the speaker said the Sultan intervened in his election despite his being a Christian.

“This victory; what he celebrate here today, won’t have been possible without God, the Sultanate and others across the country,” he told the church congregation. “For us who are Christian minorities in the North, we should acknowledge that this victory we are celebrating here today, was made possible by the intervention of the Sultan and other others. We should know that there is new thinking in the North.”

“We owe it a duty to make sure we unite our own part of the country and other parts of the country. My emergence as Speaker is as a result of the support of all major tribes of Nigeria, and all faiths in Nigeria,” he said.

Mr. Dogara hails from same part of Bauchi State as Nigeria’s first and only Prime Minister, late Tafawa Balewa. He did not, however, state how the Sultan helped him win the election.
