Falz inks endorsement deal with BBM

Comic rapper, Folarin Falana, is the latest brand ambassador for BlackBerry Messenger, BBM.

Falz, who is also the son of human rights activist, Femi Falana, has had a great musical career.

The award winning rapper came into limelight with a very unique style of music which quickly became his identity, gaining him a wide range of acceptance and fan base.

In 2014, he released his debut album “Whazup Guy” and followed up in 2015 with his sophomore album “Stories The Touch” and an outstanding EP in 2016 titled “Chemistry” with his musical soul mate, Simi.

The Ello Bae crooner who is also a TV Presenter /Actor and a graduate of Law from the University of Reading won the AMVCA awards. He bragged about in his song “Bad Baddo Baddest” where he said, “Which other rapper do you know is having AMVCA?”

One of his awards worthy of mention is his 2016 BET Awards where he won the “Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act”.

Excited about his new deal with BlackBerry Messenger, BBM, the rapper took to his Instagram page where he used his usual Yoruba-styled accent to make the announcement.

“2017 about toe be lit!! New deal ovishallay done. BBM Ambassador. You can reash me on pinging plix. ,” he said.

He recently released a song with Ajebutter22 titled “Message to your mumsy” where he used the lyrics on his Instagram caption “You Can reash me on pinging” which may have helped him land the endorsement.

Ahead of the 11th edition of The Future Awards Africa, which holds on December 18 in Lagos, the organisers have unveiled the 2016 nominees. The nominee list was contained in a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES.

Top Nigerian music artistes, Yemi Alade(27), Falz(26), Teckno(22), Kiss Danielz(23) and Mr. Eazi(25) will compete for the 2016 The Future Awards Africa Prize for Music.

“It goes without saying that we have had one of the most difficult years in our history. The days are bleak. But the stories of these nominees, and their work help me remember that through the concrete roses will grow. We can still bloom. It is not over!,” said Bukunyi Olateru-Olagbegi, Chairman, Central Working Committee, The Future Awards Africa.

The organisers also added that the nominees, aged 18 – 32, are the key players, shaping the future of today in technology, arts & culture, business, fashion and every other sphere of our lives.

The winners will all be rewarded for their hard work, talent and achievement at a glamorous ceremony, which holds later in the month.

Falz & Simi Spark Marriage Rumours With Yet Another Photo

Falz The BahdGuy and singing sensation, Simi, have sparked marriage rumours among fans after the release of yet another photo this morning on their instagram pages. And they both have refused to write a caption on any of the photos.

Fans are asking questions on whether it is a pre- wedding photo, while others have jumped into conclusion already; saying that the two are getting married.

Falz, The Bahd Guy, Joins Tinsel Cast

Popular comic rapper, Folarin Falana, who is popularly known as Falz da bad guy, is the latest cast member of Nigeria’s longest- running hit series, Tinsel.

A son of respected lawyer, Femi Falana, he joins the cast as Kayode Beko-Williams, a young socialite with a heart of gold.

A statement issued by the producers reads, “Known for his skills, the rapper comes into Telema’s life at a time when she yearns for such a person.

“The soap is slated to get more exciting with Telema being a hard one to break and as such Kayode’s
patience is tested on a regular basis.

“I’m excited about this one. It’s a serious role,” says Falz.

The talented rapper made history early in the year when he won the “Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series” award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. His comic role as Segun in Funke Akindele’s TV series Jenifa’s Diary earned him the award.

In June, he also won his first Black Entertainment Television (BET) award. He was adjudged winner of the “Viewer’s Choice Best International Act” category.

Rapper Falz Opens Up On Negative Effects Of Winning AMVCA

Actor, rapper and comedian, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falzthebahdguy, has opened up on winning the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMCVA) as Best Actor in a Comedy.
Falz revealed that the award has brought lots of beef and now he always watches his back each time he walks.

He also claimed it is not easy winning the award as several actors who have been in the industry for a long time still do not have the award but he got it at his first shot at comedy acting.

The actor plays the role of a hairdresser, Segun, who works in the same salon with Jenifa. Along the line, they fell in love and had an affair.

Falz made his acting debut in the movie ‘A Couple of Days,’ in which he stars alongside Adesua Etomi, Lilian Esoro, Kiki Omeili and Enyinna Nwigwe among others.

BET Awards 2016: Falz Nominated As Best New International Act #PickFalz

Award winning Nigerian singer, actor and comedian, Falz the Bahd guy, has been nominated for the 2016 BET Awards Viewers’ Choice in the ‘Best New International Act’ category.
Falz is up against other artists like Emtee (South Africa), MHD (France), Tkay Maidza (Australia), WS TRN (UK) and Sextion Boyz (UK).
Voting for the Viewers’ Choice category is now open and will close on June 22, 2016.
