People Want To Cause Friction Between Buhari And Me- Mbaka
Enugu Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has said that some Nigerians are hell-bent on causing disaffection between President Muhammadu Buhari and him.
Mbaka said contrary to earlier media reports that he made negative predictions concerning the President’s ill health, he merely made reference to the reported claims by Nigerian doctors.
He said that some Nigerian doctors had expressed fears over the chances of President Buhari recovering from his illness.
Mbaka, who is in charge of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), spoke through his media aide, Barr Ike Maximus Ugwuoke, maintained that some Nigerians were trying to cause a needless rift between him and the presidency.
He said: “?our attention has been drawn to a report in a section of the media alleging that Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, said that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has slim chances of surviving from his ill health.
“The true fact is that there were media reports, making fuss about Mr President’s health and insinuating Mr President‘s slim chances of recovering from his ill health, published immediately the president went on vacation.
“Fr Mbaka referring to the said media report during his prayers for the sick in the ministry prayed with the worshippers of the ministry for Mr President’s healing and health after which there were lots of testimonies from the sick that were healed.”
Ugwuoke quoted Mbaka as saying that “They say the sickness is E.N.T. When it affects, the ear, it affects the nose and affects the neck. We pray for our President and any one that is suffering such a dangerous disease.
“We lift our healing hands for divine healing upon our president. Wherever he is, may he be healed in Jesus name.
“The doctors in Nigeria are nursing fear that he may not survive but we have a healing God. His name is specialist in impossibilities.”
He added that some ?persons were nose-diving in the affairs of the ministry with a view to causing unnecessary rift between the ministry and the presidency.

Over-dependence On Oil Cause Of Corruption, Dwindling Economy- Osinbajo
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said Nigeria’s over-dependence on oil resources is responsible for the high level of corruption, dwindling economy and the redundant human resource base in the country.
He also traced restiveness and agitation for resource control, especially in the South-south geo-political region, to over-reliance on oil.
Osinbajo spoke on Monday in Port Harcourt at the inauguration of the Partners for Sustainable Development (PSD) Forum organised by the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The vice president, who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidency, Mr. Adeola Ipaye, said the theme of the forum; ‘Restrategising Development Concepts in the Niger Delta Region to Provide for Post-Oil Wealth Socio-economic Sustainability’, was strategic and apt because of the current global decline in oil revenue.

Investigators Still Unsure Of Cause Of Bristow Chopper Crash
The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) said on Monday that it was yet to determine the cause of the crash of the Bristow Helicopters S-76 chopper, which went down into the Lagos Lagoon on August 12.
Six persons, including the pilot and the co-pilot, were killed after the helicopter, which was enroute Lagos from Akure, crashed into the Oworonshoki area of the lagoon.
Felix Abali, AIB’s Commissioner, while presenting the bureau’s preliminary report on the incident, said that preliminary findings revealed that the pushrod assembly of the chopper “became disjointed and could not hold together”.
The failure of the pushrod assembly can result in a loss of main rotor or tail rotor flight control and consequent loss of control of the helicopter.

Okonjo-Iweala Reveals Cause of Fuel Scarcity
Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has denied that the fuel scarcity witnessed in some parts of the country was caused by non-payment of oil marketers.
Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala said this while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja. “I want to emphasise that contrary to some unfounded speculations, the queues are not caused by payment issues.
“As you know, we paid the marketers a total of N320.8 billion from the Excess Crude Account in two instalment in December last year. This underscores the fact that we are taking payment of marketers very seriously indeed.
“We’ve been in constant touch and talking with the marketers and a week ago we reached an agreement with them on their core concerns which we have addressed,’’ she said.
