Guy Buys A Girl Drink, Texts Her & Asks For The Money Back Weeks Later

A British college student, Abby Fenton, met Liam–a guy who bought her a drink on a night out.

Now Liam, texts Abby weeks–not even a day or two–but weeks later, asking her to give him back the money he used to buy her a drink… Whet?!

“Hi hope u don’t mind love but can you transfer me back £6.50.” He said in the text. Abby on the other hand didn’t even know who the text was from, and said, “Who’s this hahahah”

Liam then responded saying, “Liam from the Viper rooms a few weeks ago. I bought yer a drink? Can I have my money back for it. Will give u sort code and account no. Thanks.” ..No he didn’t.. LOL!

I’m so done Roommates! I need to understand what prompted Liam to ask for his money back after all this time. Maybe because they clearly hadn’t spoken seeing as she didn’t even know who was texting her? Whatever the case may be, what are your thoughts on this? Was it okay to do that?

£6.50 amounts to just about $8.50, and I gotta know–fellas, are you texting a girl weeks after you meet her to run you that $8.50? Ladies, are you giving it back!?

Abby took a poll on Twitter asking if she should’ve given the money back.

Woman Buys Entire Toy Store, Donates Toys To Homeless Children

New York City philanthropist Carol Suchman, who recently purchased an entire toy store’s worth of toys as holiday gifts for homeless children in the city. Suchman donates toys regularly, but this year on a much grander scale after noticing a shuttered toy store advertised as for rent in her neighborhood— a toy store still full of toys. She told NY1 she contacted the owner and “negotiated” a deal to buy all the contents in bulk (adding that the owner was “thrilled” with her offer) which she then passed along to NYC’s Department of Homeless Services.

A DHS spokesperson said that they frequently benefit from “generous sponsors” and “toy drives” regularly, but “this is the first time anybody ever bought out an entire store and donated to the children of shelters.” While telling TODAY.com that she’s thrilled by the positive response to her generosity — the waitress in her local coffee shop gave her a kiss, even — Suchman added simply that “everyone can use a gift around the holidays.”

Gov Ortom Buys N.5 Billion Luxury Cars For Aides

While Benue groans under severe financial hardship, the state Governor, Samuel Ortom, has shelled out N558.7 million for luxury vehicles for his aides and local government chairmen.

Mr. Ortom came to power with what he called five-pillar agenda, including a promise to create enabling environment for citizens to engage in meaningful businesses.

The governor said in his inaugural address on May 29 that the policy would enhance the living condition of Benue people and in the process reduce over-dependence on government.

The five-point agenda promised good governance and revenue security; agricultural-driven industrialization, improvement in science technology, arts and mathematics, investment in critical infrastructure, and promotion of gender equality and empowerment of women, youth, sports and persons with disabilities.

But a few months into the administration and in what appears to be a departure from the development agenda, Mr. Ortom has bought 13 new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUVs for commissioners in the state.

The 13 Prado cars came at a whopping N240.5 million, with each costing the state N18.5million.

The governor also bought 43 new Toyota Corolla cars at the cost of N318.2 million, with each delivered at the cost of N7.4 million.

The Toyota Corolla cars were distributed to the 20 special advisers appointed by Mr. Ortom while the remaining 23 went to local government chairmen in the state.

Man Buys Google.com For $12 For 1 Minute, Gets Reward For Uncovering Flaws

A man who bought the Google.com domain name for $12 and owned it for about a minute has been rewarded by Google for uncovering the flaw.

Last month, student and former Google (GOOGL)employee Sanmay Ved was able to buy Google.com for the small sum due to an administrative issue at the search giant.

He was surprised to find the domain up for sale and when he went to buy it, the $12 transaction went through and the ownership of the search site was transferred.

But within about a minute the purchase had been canceled and Ved’s money was refunded.

“Google could do this given the registration service used by me (aka Google Domains) belonged to Google,” Ved wrote in a blog post on LinkedIn.

The ex-Googler flagged the flaw to the search giant’s security team and they rewarded him with an as-yet undisclosed sum of money. When they found out Ved was going to give the bounty to charity, Google doubled the amount.
