Pipeline vandals at Konu, a border town between, Arepo, Ogun State and Ikorodu, Lagos State at the early hours of yesterday, allegedly shot dead nine operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS).
It was gathered that the hoodlums ambushed the operatives in what was described as a ‘bloody encounter,” by a Police source.
Crime Watch Today learnt that the miscreants had vandalized one of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipelines in the area and were siphoning fuel, when the DSS operatives arrived the scene. The hoodlums, who Daily Sun learnt, had prior information about their arrival opened fire on them.
The operatives who were taken by surprise engaged the vandals in a shoot-out. It was gathered that the DSS men killed some of the vandals, but their colleagues took away the bodies.
