Watch Kendrick Lamar’s New Video For “Humble”

“Humble” is the latest release from Kendrick Lamar‘s upcoming album. Last week Lamar dropped “The Heart Part 4,” on which he warned other rappers that he had a new project coming out April 7. While a full project is expected next week, for now we have “Humble” which Lamar released on Thursday and was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It.

The video, directed by Dave Meyers and The Little Homies, features a series of stunning visuals including Lamar rapping in papal robes, recreating The Last Supper, and staring down the camera while his head is on fire.

On the track, Lamar commands the listener (or perhaps every other rapper) to “sit down, be humble” while also reminding us that “my left stroke just went viral.”

Wiz Khalifa sparks outrage for visit to Pablo Escobar’s grave

Colombians were outraged by rapper Wiz Khalifa, who posted photos of himself visiting Pablo Escobar’s grave after a concert in the drug lord’s home city of Medellin.

Wiz Khalifa shared photographs of himself smoking at the Cemetario Jardins Montesacro, where fresh flowers – and a joint- were left beside the drug lord’s grave .

Medellin Mayor Federico Gutierrez called the rapper a ‘scoundrel’ and commenters tore him apart for his ‘disrespect’ while equating Escobar to a dictator and terrorist.

Escobar, the ruthless kingpin of the Medellin Cartel who killed thousands of people, was responsible for importing 80per cent of the cocaine in America during the 1980s.

Gutierrez criticized the rapper for ‘advocating crime’ and said he should have paid his respects to Escobar’s victims instead, according to the BBC.

‘It shows that this guy has never had to suffer from the violence inflicted by these drug traffickers,’ Gutierrez said.

Another Instagram user, @lauragonzg, wrote: ‘You f***ing people don’t understand that worshiping Escobar for us Colombians is like worshiping Bin Laden for you idiots. He bleeded [sic] our country. Show respect and stop watching Narco shows and thinking [it’s] real.’

She added: ‘This man killed tons of people…he was the devil…too bad that you give merit to this type of person…thank God he is dead.’

Escobar, whose cartel brought in an estimated $22 billion a year, was named the seventh richest man in the world by Forbes in 1989.

While some still hail Escobar as a hero for donating money to charity and expanding social programs like housing for the poor, others still see him as a ruthless killer who terrorized his country.

Escobar killed thousands of people, including politicians, judges, cops and civilians, during his reign.

He is also said to have bombed an airplane in 1989, killing all 107 people aboard.

Escobar’s rise was chronicled in the ongoing Netflix show Narcos, prompting his family members to dispute the inaccuracies portrayed in the series.

Last week, Efe was given the rare opportunity as Ultimate Head of House, when he nominated his fellow housemates for eviction.

Efe nominated, Bassey, Bally, Debbie and TBoss.

In a brief chat with Ebuka, the anchor of the Sunday Live Eviction Show, Bassey said he was excited to have remained in the show for this long. “I never thought I was going to leave now but Naija has made their decisions; so Naija all the way.” The evicted housemate said that Tboss was attractive but that he learned to turn the attraction to something positive.

On Debie-Rise, Bassey said that though she was emotional towards him, he did not want to enter her private space and later hurt her. Bassey also said that Efe was smart and calculative in some games in the house. “He is strong in Head of House task but he was not a threat to me with regards to the prize money.

John Legend Robbed At JFK Airport

American soul singer, John Legend had a pretty rough landing in New York city when someone at JFK airport stole his luggage with some very expensive items.

John arrived at JFK on Thursday when a Delta greeter made a mistake and left his bag on the luggage cart. Someone grabbed the bag while it was left unattended.

We’re told the bag contained a pair of Cartier Panther cuff links with clear and green stones, valued at $30k. The clothes inside were valued at $500, and there was a $500 pair of eyeglasses.

It’s unclear if the thief knew he was stealing John Legend’s suitcase.

Cops were able to use surveillance video to nab the culprit, and John got his bag back.

The police said the thief was John’s livery driver, but Legend says that was not the case. We circled back with cops who say the thief was a livery driver who has had multiple problems with the law at JFK.

BBN: Why I did not discuss my children with other housemates – Thin Tall Tony (VIDEO)

Evicted Big Brother Naija housemate, Thin Tall Tony (TTT) has said the reason he did not speak about his family, particularly his children, during his stay in the house was based on the decision he reached with his wife with regards to keeping the family’s matter private during the show.

He said this on Tuesday in an interview with Beat FM.

Thin Tall Tony said, “Yes, before I went into the house, myself and my wife, we did speak.

“We are very private people so we like to keep our private lives private. She’s my backbone and I can’t make any decision without her asking or directing me.

“So, she made it clear before I went into the House that you keep my family out of it. ‘I want the world to know you for who you are, your talent’ she said to me. And that is what I have been hustling with.”

TTT who said he went into the Big brother Naija house with the photograph of his kids, admitted that there were several nights in Biggie’s house that he would look at his children’s image before he slept.

He also said he wasn’t emotionally attached to Bisola and that nothing happened between both of them.

Drake’s New Album ‘More Life’ Breaks Record

Canadian hip-hop rapper, Drake who released a new album has set a record for the best first day on Spotify, edging out Ed Sheeran who held the title for a mere two weeks.

The music star on Saturday dropped “More Life,” a 22-song collection that ventures deeper into the dancehall sounds of Jamaica and features appearances by other leading rappers.

A Spotify spokeswoman said that “More Life” was played 61,302,082 times on its first full day Sunday, topping the 56,727,861 streams on March 3 for English songwriter Sheeran’s “Divide.”

Spotify, the world’s largest streaming platform, has some 100 million listeners including on its free tier. Drake also broke the record for the most overall streams by an artist on a single day, again beating Sheeran.

Tracking service Nielsen Music separately forecast that “More Life” would make the biggest debut so far this year on the Billboard chart of US album sales.

The success of “More Life” comes even though Drake has described it as a “playlist” to hold time between releases of full-fledged albums. Unlike his album “Views” last year, Drake released “More Life” immediately on all streaming platforms rather than giving an initial exclusive to Apple Music, with which he has a close relationship.

Spotify records have repeatedly been broken as a growing number of listeners turn to streaming, which allows unlimited, on-demand music online.

I feel nothing for Bisola – Thin Tall Tony reveals

Thin Tall Tony, who was Sunday night evicted from the Big Brother Naija house, has declared that he feels nothing for Bisola.
Speaking with the host of the Sunday eviction, TTT said, “What we had was not real”.Asked if he has feelings for Bisola, he replied: “I feel nothing. All that happened was a game.

“We spoke about it (kisses) and we moved on. But she’s an incredible person and I respect her.”

Last Monday, Bally, TBoss and Thin Tall Tony were initially put up for eviction by other housmates.

But with his power as Head of House, Bassey replaced Bally with Efe.

On the other hand, Marvis had a power card which she could use to nominate a housemate for eviction.

Marvis selected Debie-Rise.

The input by Bassey and Marvis resulted in four names for possible eviction – Debie-Rise, Efe, Those and Thin Tall Tony.

There was no eviction last week because Biggie cancelled the weekly nomination exercise.

The two fake housemates, Jon and Ese were booted out three weeks ago.

The duo had been introduced into the house to keep housemates on their toes as they compete for the star prize of N25 million.

Soma, Miyonse, Coco Ice, Gifty, Uriel have also been evicted from the ‘See Gobee’ edition.

A fortnight ago, Uriel was evicted while Kemen was disqualified.

There are traitors in the music industry – Lil Kesh

Shoki singer, Lil Kesh, has said that there are a lot of sly people in the entertainment industry. The former YBNL-signee said that not everyone who comes around you to smile and hang out really wants the best for you.

He told Sunday Scoop, “There are lots of fake people in this industry. When they see you doing well, they would come around you. But what they are really after is the fame and the fortune they think you have and they wouldn’t think twice about betraying you. I have seen a lot of such people in the industry and I can’t tolerate them because I have no time for fake love.”

Asked if he had ever been betrayed by someone close to him in the music industry, he said, “It has never happened to me and that is because I deliberately keep my circle small. Most of the people around me now are the ones that I knew from way back. I’m not saying that it’s bad to make friends but one just has to be careful and smart in the process.”

The rapper who is also rocking a new hairstyle which many of his fans have described as weird, explained the reason for his latest look. He said, “I’m an entertainer and I need to change my look from time to time. Many of my fans often ask me to change my style and I have to satisfy their yearnings. There’s no big deal to it and for people that don’t like it, I only have one question for them: is it your head?”

Donald Trump suggests Snoop Dogg should go to prison for ‘assassination music video’

Donald Trump took aim Wednesday at Snoop Dogg, saying the rap star would have gotten “jail time” had he pointed his gun at Barack Obama rather than the current US president in a video.

Snoop Dogg, an early figure in California gangsta rap who has mellowed in recent years, this week released a video pegged to the release of his album “Lavender” in which most actors are clowns.
One clown — unmistakably a parody of Trump, sporting bouffant hair and a red tie that dangles below the waist — gesticulates wildly at the podium of “The Clown House.”

The clown puts his hands up as if under arrest as Snoop Dogg draws a pistol, with a flag popping out that says “Bang!”

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” Trump wrote on Twitter. Snoop Dogg was one of the leading rappers of the 1990s with hits such as “What’s My Name?” and “Gin & Juice.”

In recent years, he has shed his gangsta image, branching out into reggae, starring in multiple television series and pursuing a marijuana business. Trump won last year’s election despite widespread antipathy from the entertainment world.

Snoop Dogg told Billboard he was not looking for a reaction with the video.

“I just put it out because I feel like it’s something that’s missing,” he said.

“Any time I drop something, I’m trying to fill in a void. I feel like it’s a lot of people making cool records, having fun, partying, but nobody’s dealing with the real issue with this f***ing clown as President, and the sh*t that we dealing with out here, so I wanted to take time out to push pause on a party record and make one of these records for the time being.”

The President’s argument against the artist is similar to that made in a video by conspiracy theorist platform Infowars, a website with which he has long-running links.

It is not known if the President watched the video. The founder of Infowars, Alex Jones, claimed last month that the President still calls him for advice.

The President has often taken to Twitter to respond to criticism from celebrities, including Meryl Streep, Arnold Schwarzenegger and even the cast of Broadway musical Hamilton.

Chimamanda Adichie clarifies comments about trans-women

However, The feminist author came under fire for an interview in which she apparently distinguished between women who have identified as women since birth and trans-women. She offered some context for her initial comments, which hinged on lived experience, but some weren’t happy.

Recently, she responded to the social media rage and here’s what she posted:

Lai Mohammed appoints King Sunny Ade ‘Change Begins With Me’ Ambassador

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has appointed King Sunny Ade as an Ambassador of the National Re-Orientation Programme “Change Begins With Me.”

Speaking in Abuja on Monday when he received the music maestro on a courtesy visit to his office, the Minister described King Sunny Ade as an icon and a trailblazer, who has reigned in the music industry for over 50 years without blemish.

Announcing the appointment, he said “we are looking for people like you (King Sunny Ade) that the younger ones can look up to. It’s not just that you have been around for fifty years but you have been around for fifty years without any single stain on your part and that is very hard.
“Most people like you would have had one issue or the other that today their integrity would be at stake. Your integrity is as strong if not stronger than when you started. So it would be a pleasure if you can accept to be our Ambassador of the “Change Begins With Me”.

”I want the younger ones to look at you and see that you can actually get to the top without cutting corners. That is exactly what you have done. You have never cut corners and you have gotten to the top.”

Alhaji Mohammed said after performing music for fifty years, the energy, dexterity and the passion exuded by King Sunny Ade have remained amazing and a source of inspiration for the younger artists.

He hailed King Sunny Ade for promoting the juju music genre to an enviable height with an originality that makes imitating his music an exercise in futility.

The Minister said this Administration is paying more attention to the development of the entertainment industry because of its vast potential in generating employment and creating wealth.

He however said having studied the industry, he has come to the conclusion that there is a systemic weakness in the industry, especially the inability of government to adequately protect the intellectual property of the nation’s artists, an issue he said his Ministry is now tackling with stakeholders.

Alhaji Mohammed said he had set up a Ministerial Task Force on the Creative Economy as a deliberate strategy to explore ways of turning the creative industry into a viable avenue for investment by the private sector.

While accepting the offer to serve as an Ambassador of the “Change Begins With Me” Campaign, King Sunny Ade pledged to partner with the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture to move the nation forward.

“You don’t need to say much. This is what I love to do and it has been in me. We are ready to do that officially throughout the whole world,” he said.

King Sunny Ade thanked the Minister for the uncommon passion he has shown to the entertainment industry, especially in organising the artists to achieve their potentials and contribute to nation-building.

He also thanked the Minister for attending his 70th birthday celebration, which was held recently.

Chance the Rapper gives $1m Amid Chicago School Row

Fast-rising star Chance the Rapper on Monday donated $1 million to Chicago’s schools as he waded into the middle of a political feud that threatens to close down classrooms weeks early.

The “Coloring Book” rapper, who last month won three Grammys including the prestigious Best New Artist award, threw a national spotlight on a long-running rift over school funding in the third most populous US city.

Chicago has warned that its public schools could shut on June 1, three weeks ahead of schedule, due to a gap of more than $200 million in funding.

“This isn’t about politics, this isn’t about posturing, this is about taking care of the kids,” Chance the Rapper told a news conference at an elementary school that he streamed to his millions of social media followers.

The 23-year-old artist, a Chicago native who attended public schools, said he was donating $1 million to support arts programming and was not looking to replace state funding.

He also promised that his group Social Works Chicago would match every donation of $100,000 with another $10,000.

“This check that I donated is a call to action. I’m challenging major companies and corporations in Chicago and all across the nation to donate and to take action,” said the rapper, at times reading formally in contrast to his on-stage poise.

Chance the Rapper has long been an activist and has made appeals to end Chicago’s street violence. His father Ken Williams-Bennett is a veteran Chicago political figure who was an aide to former president Barack Obama.

Former first lady Michelle Obama, who has mostly kept a low profile in the weeks since leaving the White House, hailed Chance for “giving back to the Chicago community, which gave us so much.”

“You are an example of the power of arts education,” she wrote on Twitter.

Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, last week met on the school funding dispute with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, a Republican.

Rauner last year vetoed a funding plan for the schools in a dispute with the legislature as he pushes the school district to reform ballooning pension costs and fix what he calls longtime mismanagement.

Why Oscars failed – Donald Trump

President Donald Trump said Monday the chaos that erupted at the end of the Oscars was due to Hollywood obsessing about him rather than concentrating on running a smooth show.

In an Oval Office interview with conservative website Breitbart News, Trump said Oscars organizers had taken their eyes off the ball because they “were focused so hard on politics.”

“It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars,” he told the site, which was previously managed by Steve Bannon, who now serves as Trump’s chief White House strategist.

“It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening. I’ve been to the Oscars. There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad.”

Trump’s comments came after Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty mistakenly presented the best picture statuette at the climax of the ceremony to “La La Land,” when “Moonlight” was the real winner.

The mixup, which made for a chaotic end to ABC’s telecast of the show, has been described as one of the most embarrassing moments in Oscars history.

– ‘Very upset’ –
With the dust settling on the controversy, the finger of blame has settled on PricewaterhouseCoopers partner Brian Cullinan, who was responsible, along with colleague Martha Ruiz, for ensuring that each awards presenter was handed the correct envelope.

Cullinan pulled the envelope that was supposed to be for best picture winner from the wrong pile, the company said.

“He is very upset about this mistake. And it is also my mistake, our mistake and we all feel very bad,” said Tim Ryan, PwC’s US chairman, according to trade magazine Variety.

Trump had been the target of light-hearted jokes and serious derision throughout the night as Oscar-winners railed against his immigration policies.

Host Jimmy Kimmel trolled the Republican via Twitter during the live broadcast and mocked the commander-in-chief’s criticism of screen icon Meryl Streep.

“I want to say thank you to President Trump. Remember last year when it seemed like the Oscars were racist? That’s gone, thanks to him!” Kimmel scoffed.

Trump doesn’t explain in the interview why he thinks the jokes at his expense led to the unrelated error, and it is unclear if he watched the show.

Breitbart, one of several news outlets favored by America’s white nationalist extremist fringe, said the comments came in a lengthy interview covering health care, tax cuts, immigration and a variety of other topics.

Breitbart said the mixup came after what it called “hours of Trump-bashing by the Hollywood elites.”

“Now, the president has got the last laugh as he hammers Hollywood for its epic fail,” it added.

Game of Thrones star dies at 36

Neil Fingleton, who played Mag Mar Tun Doh Weg, aka Mag the Mighty, a colossal warrior on the acclaimed TV series, Game of Thrones, died from heart failure last Saturday. He was 36.

Fingleton was the U.K.’s tallest man at seven feet, seven inches in height. In addition to GOT, Fingleton appeared in Doctor Who, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and X-Men: First Class.

His death was announced Sunday by Tall Person Club’s Facebook page.

“Sadly it has come to our attention that Neil Fingleton, Britain’s Tallest Man, passed away on Saturday,” the statement reads.

According to his profile, Neil became Britain’s Tallest Man in 2007 passing the height of Chris Greener. He started off in basketball in the USA before becoming an actor and starring in the X-Men First Class and also recently in the Game of Thrones.

Before joining the entertainment industry, Fingleton was a professional basketball player having been drafted by the NBA. He also played for the University of North Carolina.

Mag the Mighty was a member of Mance Rayder’s army and appeared in the ‘The Watchers on the Wall’ in GOT season four.
According to GOT Wiki notes, the show’s production team built a smaller replica of the ice tunnel to make Mag the Mighty appear larger when he ran through it.

Mag is a leader among the giants that joined the Free Folk army united by Mance Rayder. Mance refers to him as the “king” of the giants, last of a bloodline stretching back thousands of years to before the arrival of the First Men in Westeros.

Iranian filmmaker who boycotted the Oscars over Trump’s travel ban, won an award

Last night, Director Asghar Farhadi won his second Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, but Farhadi was not in attendance to claim the Oscar for his film, “The Salesman.”

He boycotted the awards show in protest of President Donald Trump’s executive order that temporarily barred travellers from seven majority-Muslim countries, including Iran, from entering the United States.

In a prepared speech delivered by Iranian-American engineer Anousheh Ansari, Farhadi explained his decision. “My absence is out of respect for the people of my country. Dividing the world into the us and our enemies categories creates fear”.

“It’s a great honor to be receiving this valuable award for the second time. I would like to thank the members of the Academy, my crew in Iran, my producer Alexandre Mallet-Guy, Cohen Media, Amazon and my fellow nominees in the foreign film category. I’m sorry I’m not with you tonight. My absence is out of respect for the people of my country and those of other six nations whom have been disrespected by the inhumane law that bans entry of immigrants to the U.S. Dividing the world into the us and our enemies categories creates fear. A deceitful justification for aggression and war. These wars prevent democracy and human rights in countries which have themselves been victims of aggression. Filmmakers can turn their cameras to capture shared human qualities and break stereotypes of various nationalities and religions. They create empathy between us and others. An empathy which we need today more than ever.”

La La Land wrongly announced as winner of best picture at the Oscars

A Steve Harvey Miss Universe 2015 scenario, play got replayed at the 89th Oscar Awards that was held last night.
Though it’s still unclear why Beaty and Dunaway could read out a wrong name, but it sure did ruin the night for the true winner of the Best Picture category. Warren Beaty and Faye Dunaway who announced the award were a bit hesitant, before Dunaway eventually declared La La Land the winner.
However, as the announced winners took to the stage to celebrate, they were cut off mid-speech by the organizers, and Warren Beaty apologized and announced that the winners of the Best Picture was actually Moonlight. The printed paper was also held out to put off the confusion, that sprung up on the stage.

A Prelude to “ShETHER”: The History of Beef Between Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj

On Saturday, Remy Ma grabbed the attention of the rap world with “ShETHER,” a vicious seven-minute diss record that attacked Nicki Minaj from every conceivable angle: her brother’s legal problems, her rumored plastic surgery, her alleged use of ghostwriters, her collaboration with Gucci Mane on Thursday.

While the track caught many people by surprise (including, apparently, Trey Songz), fans who have been paying close attention knew that something was brewing. The relationship between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma goes back a decade now, and much of it has been rocky.

Minaj’s rise in the rap game happened primarily during the six years Remy was incarcerated for (accidently, she claims) shooting her friend. When Remy was sentenced in 2008, Nicki was appearing on mixtapes and street DVDs. When the Terror Squad maven returned in 2014, Minaj was an international superstar. That dynamic is worth keeping in mind as you check the following timeline.

July 2007: Nicki releases Playtime Is Over

Nicki’s Playtime Is Over mixtape contained a freestyle that is frequently referred to as “Dirty Money,” after one of her adlibs in the beginning. It used the beat from the Terror Squad’s “Yeah Yeah Yeah.” Right at the beginning, there are some lines that a lot of people, including Remy herself, saw as a shot.

“Tell that bitch with the crown to run it like Chris Brown,” Minaj spits. “She won three rounds, I’mma need a hundred thou’…/Oh, y’all ain’t know? Bet y’all bitches know now.”

Between Remy’s then-reigning status as New York’s rap queen, the use of a beat from Ma’s crew, and the fact that Remy had won a $20,000 battle against Lady Luck a few years prior, it wasn’t long before the buzz started that a new MC was throwing rocks at Remy’s throne.

Summer 2007: Remy confronts Nicki at a mixtape release party

Not long after that freestyle became public, Remy confronted Nicki at a party and asked who those lines were about. In a 2010 interview from jail, Remy recalled what went down.

“When I seen her at her party, I was like, ‘Yeah, what was that line about?’ To this day, I think it was a stab at me. That’s what you do in rap, and I’m cool with that.”

December 2007: That video…

In December 2007, Cliffy Barz uploads a video to the internet titled “Remy Ma Ex Lover Speaks!!!” The clip shows a young woman claiming that she “had relations with” Remy. The woman claims she’s upset because Remy is no longer answering her calls.

The woman in the video bears a passing resemblance to Nicki (though their voices sound very different). This slight similarity was enough to start rumors that Nicki was the person in the video, and things traveled far enough that both Remy and Nicki had to publicly deny that they had had a relationship. Even five years later, the debunked rumor was still being reported.

August 2014: Remy is released and it’s all love

Immediately after being released from jail, Remy gets back to work. In an interview she gives right after being let out, Remy seems to be in a peacemaking mood. “I think it would be dope if we can get an ill chick record with everybody doing what they doing,” she says. “Me, maybe Iggy Azalea, Nicki…like just do a nice little collabo.”

March 2015: The subliminals begin

In March 2015, Remy releases her own version of Nicki’s “Truffle Butter.” While no names are mentioned, the fact that Remy hops on one of Nicki’s beats lends an extra edge to some of the lyrics about what Remy’s return to the rap game will do to the people who have risen in her absence. “I’m ’bout to put y’all out of business, y’all case closed,” she says.

June 2016: The BET Awards

At the 2016 BET Awards, Nicki Minaj unsurprisingly takes home the Best Female Hip Hop Artist award. Who is ready with heartfelt congratulations? You guessed it.

September 2016: The BET Hip Hop Awards

At the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards, Remy is in a different state of mind. During her turn in one of the cyphers, she throws some (again, unnamed) shots at a certain heavily-styled female rapper.

November 2016: Who’s the queen?

In November, Remy drops the Fat Joe collaboration “Money Showers.” On it, she hearkens back to long-ago debates about who wears the rap crown. “Bitch claiming she the queen. What? Not hardly,” she spits. “Who the fuck gave you your crown, bitch—Steve Harvey?”

Early December 2016: The Funk Flex freestyle

Remy and her husband Papoose appear on Funk Flex’s show in December, and Remy spits some lines she wrote on the way to the studio. Many of them seem aimed directly at Nicki—one even seemingly taunted Minaj for her heavily pitch-corrected singing on pop records like “Starships.” “Wanted to be an icon,” Remy raps, “Ended up like Akon.” An earlier section seems to poke fun at Nicki’s frequent catchphrase, “All these bitches is my sons.”

All this talk about my son and your son/I’m hot and your whole world revolve around me—bitch, I am the sun,” Remy rhymes. Check it out below.

Late December 2016: Twitter goes nuts

Towards the end of December, Remy hops on a remix of Phresher’s “Wait a Minute.” Her lines about ghostwriters and “fake breasts” get the internet going nuts. Even Phresher himself believes that Remy’s lines are aimed at Nicki. And the lines about ghostwriters take on an extra bite when, not long after the song is released, Nicki’s ex Safaree Samuels, who is a credited writer on some of her early work, poses for an IG photo with Remy and Pap.

February 15, 2017: A non-denial denial

In mid-February of this year, Remy appears with Fat Joe on the Breakfast Club. When asked if she’s tired of people assuming her lyrics are aimed at Nicki, Remy gives an interesting answer. “Are you talking about Nicki Minaj?” she fires back. She continues in a way that seemed political then, but prescient now. “Whenever I’ve had a problem with any female in this entire game, I will say your name… I’m going to say your government. I’m going to look it up. I’m going to say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kid’s name. I want you to know that I’m talking about you.”

February 23, 2017: Nicki (finally) fires back

Nicki responds to the subliminals with verses on two new tracks: Jason Derulo’s “Swalla” and Gucci Mane’s “Make Love.”

On “Swalla,” Minaj seems ready to reclaim her throne. “I gave these bitches two years, now your time’s up,” she raps. “Bless her heart, she throwing shots, but every line sucks.”

“Make Love” is even more direct. Nicki appears to be taking shots at the disappointing sales of Remy and Joe’s new album Plata o Plomo. “Oh oh, you the queen of this here?” she asks. “One platinum plaque, album flopped—bitch, where?”

These songs unleash “ShETHER.” Only time will tell whether things will die out here, or if Nicki vs. Remy will enter the canon of great beefs, ranking up there with Jay vs. Nas, LL vs. Kool Moe Dee, KRS vs. Shan, and, of course, T.I. vs. T.I.P.

AND incase you haven’t listened, below is the mad fire Track

Jay Z becomes the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame

Jay Z has made history by becoming the very first rapper ever chosen to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. By breaking this record, Jay Z has given other rappers hope of someday becoming inductees.

The Songwriters Hall announced on Wednesday Feb. 22nd that Jay Z will be inducted into the Hall at the organization’s 48th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner will take place on June 15 in New York.

Other songwriters who will be inducted include; Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, Max Martin, songwriting-production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Gordy, and members of the band Chicago Robert Lamm, James Pankow and Peter Cetera. Joining the Hall of Fame is a great honour, one given only to artists who are considered to have “enriched the world’s culture”, with people like Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan and Marvin Gaye previously making it into the Hall.

Only five songwriters, or songwriting groups, are inducted each year, so it is understandable that Jay Z is excited about this honour.

The entertainment mogul took to his Twitter account to share the good news. He wrote: “By the way, this is a win for US. I remember when rap was said to be a fad . We are now alongside some of the greatest writers in history.”

VIDEO: Claims That I’m Hip Hop’s First Billionaire Is False – Diddy

Diddy is undoubtedly one of hip-hop’s most successful artists. From owning his own record label and a liquor brand to restaurants and two clothing lines, the man born Sean Combs has given little reason to question his massive net worth. He recently released a “motivational video” on YouTube, where he seemingly delivered the news that rap fans have long waited for: “A young boy from Harlem, I couldn’t even be a waiter. They didn’t want me to be a waiter! So you know what I did? I became a billionaire.”

Many took the video to be an official announcement that Diddy had made history as hip-hop’s first billionaire. However, according to Diddy, that is not actually the case. The mogul took to YouTube again on Wednesday to set the record straight on exactly where his monetary situation is at. “A lot of blogs took that as I had become hip-hop’s first billionaire,” Diddy explains, “that is not the case.” He went on to say that “the race is still on,” and that “any of you hustlers out there can come and get it,” including Jay-Z and Dr. Dre.

Dr. Dre reached near-billionaire status after selling Beats to Apple. But he’s still trailing behind Diddy in net worth.

Diddy’s current net worth is estimated at $750 million.

“It really ain’t about the money at the end of the day,” Diddy explained, “It’s about the impact that you have on the world. Only speak the truth.” Check out the full video below.

“What a joke of a pastor” Seyi Law blasts pastor who cursed BBNaija organizers

Comedian, Seyi Law has responded to Pastor Mike Winning who cursed the organizers of Big Brother Naija reality show yesterday.

He advised him to organize a Christian reality show and give his followers money that will change their life.

“What a joke of a Pastor. Did Jesus lay curses on those who turned His Father’s house to a market place of all sorts or He just rebuked them. Some of all these people who call themselves Pastors actually think they are God o. Oga Ade, go and have a rethink abeg and ask God for forgiveness. “You gate-crashed my event”, Kiibati Bankole drags Cool FM’s OAP, Daddy Freeze.

The Executive Producer and host of a soccer fans programme, Merrybet Celebrity Fans Challenge and Fans Crossfire, Kiibati Bankole has finally replied popular and controversial Cool FM OAP, Daddy Freeze after his damning allegations of unpaid debts on his Instagram page.

Miss Kiibati in her reply has refuted every of the allegations slammed at her. She further went on to tell her own side of the story which has been properly captured by Omojuwa.Com below;

Dear Mr. Freeze,

I have tried to steer clear of your endless attempts at cyber bullying and casting aspersions at my image, but your most recent rants have left me no choice but to respond to your allegations.
My friends know that unlike you, I do not engage in attention seeking stunts online or laundering my linen in public.
I am a very private person, with a very small but closely knit circle of friends.

I find your decision to take to social media to spout your allegations highly disappointing, considering your age (I assume you are close to 50 and are considered an ‘egbon’), and that you have both my phone numbers, know where my studio/office is and are in touch with many of our mutual colleagues in the broadcast industry.

Now, you made some allegations that are ridiculous and blatantly false:

The first was that I BEGGED you to ‘help me out’ by participating at my event- Celebrity FC on the 3rd of December. Now that claim is ridiculous.

First of all, at the event, we had superstars like Olamide, Tuface Idibia, Awilo Longomba, Falz TheBahdGuy, Burna Boy, Peter of P Square, Humblesmith, just to name a few.

The event had over 30 of Nigeria’s most beloved celebrities come together in the name of the beautiful game- football, and no disrespect intended Sir, but you do not match up to any of those guys in name or stature.

I contacted you to ask you to help me invite your friend DJ Exclusive to the event, who we know is a staunch Manchester United fan and loved by many.

While bargaining with you on his appearance fee, you gave me the condition that I must invite you as well. We had no plans to invite you because you did not fit the profile of the calibre of celebrities we invite.

You however insisted and charged me the sum of N900,000 for you and DJ Exclusive to split. I found that odd, but felt I had no choice, since I really wanted Exclusive at the event.
You asked me to send you a text message with the offer for you to show DJ Exclusive which I did.

To spice up the deal, you offered to promote the event for two weeks on your show on Cool FM and asked me to send you a media partnership proposal which I did.

Following our conversation on phone, I presented our discussion to my team, who expressed dissatisfaction and said they did not want you at the show, but Exclusive alone. They said you do not match up to the celebrities coming for the show and said we should instead invite your colleague Dotun who will attract the hip, young urban crowd in Lagos to the event.
I did not know how to tell you this as I did not want to hurt your feelings.

I told them about your offer to promote the event for free, which softened their stance a little, but did not totally convince them.

FYI, all the celebrities that came for the event were given official invitation letters/MOUs either physically or by email and were paid at least 2 or 3 months to the event, except for last minute additions.

You eventually told me that the management of Cool FM denied your request to run the promo of the event on your show, which left my team with no choice but to decide to dis-invite you, as they saw no justification for paying you to attend the event without getting any value from you.

According to them, no one will purchase a ticket to a concert to watch Freeze.

I thought this was harsh, and couldn’t figure out how to break the news to you, so I kept coming up with ways to buy time, hoping you would take the hint by my refusal to pick your calls atimes. But you eventually helped me out when you told my people a week to the show that DJ Exclusive was pulling out.
This came as a bit of relief to us and my team told you not to bother to come anymore as Exclusive was supposed to be your partner at the show.

After my team asked you not to come, you began to harrass and stalk my phone, calling me endlessly, but I couldn’t pick your calls and asked my managers to speak with you. I couldn’t pick your calls because I was the host of the show and had to focus on rehearsing for the event with my co-host Seyi Law. I was losing my voice and my team insisted that I stay off the phone to save my voice and energy.

So, you were told not to come for the show, but imagine my shock when on the day of the event, I came down to the celebrity lounge backstage and saw you.

You came along to the event with an actor we hadn’t invited. You were drinking all kinds of Spirits began harassing the stage manager to let you go on stage and play.

The stage manager concluded by your harassment that you were just being a passionate football fan and eventually let you go on stage to play with the celebrity friend you brought to the event.

At no point did I ‘contract’ you to be at the show as you have widely claimed, unless the word ‘contract’ has taken on a different meaning.

The second false claim you made was that you tried to call me for a month and I wasn’t picking your calls.

This Sir is a blatant lie (or ‘alternative fact’ as Kellyanne Conway would say), as I travelled out of the country soon after the event and was away in Dubai for the Christmas and New year holidays and my phones were unreachable. My Instagram posts in this period confirm this.
I took the break to recuperate after the event and regain my mental and physical strength.

I was away for over 3 weeks, so you couldn’t have been calling me all this while, as you claim.

As soon as I landed after my trip, you began to call my phone. You called me two or three times, and I didn’t pick your calls because I was still settling down, following my trip; but imagine my surprise when two days later you took to Instagram to attack me.

You did not send me a single text, email, direct message on Twitter or Instagram or reach out to me via members of my team but instead chose the cowardly way out with your subtle blackmail and cyber bullying.

I understand that there is a recession in Nigeria at the moment and you may have been broke and desperate for some cash, but as a friend, I would have helped you with some cash if you had just done the decent thing by reaching out to me via text or by being patient for me to return your calls, which I would have after I settled down from my trip.

This, as you know, was not my first time dealing with you. I have paid you a lot of cash in the past for different promos on Cool FM. You can recall that I paid you N300,000 regularly sometime in 2015 to promote some kid artists on your show. I can tender my account statements as proof of this.

Your social media antics however, are a declaration of war and put an end to any attempt at friendship with you.

Please Sir, stop your cowardly attempts at cyber bullying me or harrassing my clients Merrybet- the most reputable sports betting firm in Nigeria and address your alleged grievances via the appropriate legal channels.

I don’t want to believe that you cannot afford a lawyer Sir. Please stop your cowardly attacks and take up whatever issues you believe you have against me in court or with the appropriate authorities and desist from your public attacks.

Well, the fire is blazing now, we shall wait for Daddy Freeze to refute this new revelations and take up the matter legally as suggested by Miss Kiibati.

Massive backlash follow Carlos Santana’s “Beyonce is not a singer” comment.

Carlos Santana has attempted to “clarify” a comment he made about Beyonce after the Grammy Awards after it prompted a backlash from her fans.

The legendary guitarist was quoted in the Australian Associated Press where he said that Adele won the Grammy for Album of the Year over Beyonce because “she [Adele] can sing, sing”.

“With all respect to our sister Beyonce, Beyonce is very beautiful to look at and it’s more like modelling kind of music – music to model a dress – she’s not a singer, singer, with all respect to her,” he said.

Beyonce fans were obviously outraged and Santana began trending on Twitter, where even a few of his own fans jumped in to defend Beyonce.

Since the backlash, Santana has posted a “clarification” on his official Facebook page.

“I would like to clarify a comment that was reported when I was doing an interview for some upcoming shows in Australia and New Zealand.

“My intent was the congratulate Adele on her amazing night at the Grammys. My comment about Beyonce was regretfully taken out of context.

“I have the utmost respect for her as an artist and a person. She deserves all the accolades that come her way. I wish Beyonce and her family all the best.”

old Shades of Blue actress again when he returns to L.A. next month after his European tour.

OPINION: Is Runtown’s “Mad Over You” The New Ojuelegba? – By

Late last year, Eric Manny’s act Runtown released a Afro-Pop track, Mad over You which also had a fusion of some Ghanian flows and captivating Afro-beat sounds.

The song which has continued to garner massive airplay on most radio and TV stations and also sits atop many music charts.

Nevertheless, most people have never stopped saying this could be Runtown’s Ojuelegba. Ojuelegba was one of the hit tracks of Wizkid’s sophomore album, Ayo(Joy) and also unarguably Africa’s biggest song for the year 2015.

The song which describes Wizkid’s early life as a musician opened new doors for Wizkid as an international artiste and also establish a working relationship with Canadian rapper, Drake who went on to jump on the track along with British-Nigeria grime artiste, Skepta. Across 2015-2016, Ojuelegba was everyone’s favourite at any event.

It was a song that could soothe your feelings, inspire you and according to Skepta it could be a song that could gear you up when you’re down.

However, Runtown’s Mad Over YOU could step up to be the new Ojuelegba and also Africa’s best song of 2017. The Del B-produced song tells of Runtown’s endless love for an unknown girl telling her of his non-stop love for her. Mad Over you has started topping most Nigerian charts and has also gone to be No.38 on billboard charts.

TY Bello directs ‘Coming to America’ Sequel

The old movie featured Eddie Murphy and it’s still one of the best, if not the best he ever starred in but what if I tell you that Nigeria’s rising high-life artiste, Humblesmith has starred in a sequel of that and it was directed in Nigeria by the fabulous TY Bello?

It was a unique story of a Golden Prince who is set to leave his comfort zone for a new and more fulfilling life. It is the story of Humblesmith, the Golden Prince of Africa and who else could have shot it perfectly like TY Bello.

A photoshoot like no other, themed after the famous movie, ‘Coming to America’. If Eddie Murphy could see this, he would jump at the perfect representation of that hit movie. No, Humblesmith is not starring in a movie but TY Bello re-enacted Eddie Murphy into Humblesmith in a recent photoshoot in Lagos.

Video: Lady Gaga’s Amazing Super Bowl Halftime Performance 2017

After Beyoncé set tongues wagging with a performance indebted to the Black Panthers at 2016’s Super Bowl halftime show, many were wondering if Lady Gaga, an outspoken advocate for LGBT and women’s rights, would use the enormous global platform to voice her dislike of President Trump on Sunday night.

However, instead, the 30-year-old pop star delivered a gymnastic set that lent its sentiment through song – before announcing details of a huge world tour as icing on the cake for her fans.

Standing atop the roof of Houston’s NRG Stadium with drones illuminating an American flag in the night sky behind her, Lady Gaga kicked off her Super Bowl halftime set on Sunday by singing God Bless America as a subtle message of inclusion and unity in a deeply divided United States.

2Face Clarifies stand on Nationwide Protest Against FG

As you likely know, a massive nationwide protest against the Federal Government has been called by Nigerian foremost singer, 2Baba.

According to the singer, the protest, which will hold on February 5,
was never his creation but a call to action to speak up for his people.
2Baba made the clarification in a short statement he shared with his 1.8 million followers on Instagram.
He wrote;
“I am blessed to have a platform that allows me to reach a lot of people at a time. I believe this voice also comes with a responsibility to use it to speak up for my people. So, when I received the broadcasts that had been going round for some days calling for protests against the state of the country I posted it in a show of support.
My intention was never to take credit for the movement but rather amplify the voices of the organization credited with the widely circulated message.
To my colleagues that have joined their voices to this call, thank you for showing the Nigerian people they are not alone. I remain committed to contributing to the well being of my people in any little way I can. One love! #WeWillProtest.”

Charly Boy : Let Igbos Pause On Biafra For Now

Area father Charly Boy has published an article on the Biafran struggle.

Read article below:

I guess it about time I break my silence on this matter. From 1967 to 1970 my youth was scandalised with the horrors of the Nigerian civil war. I was never on the front line as a fighting soldier, but I was in the boys’ brigade transmitting from the naval headquarters then in Oguta. With the daily air raids and the smell of death all around us, we were thankful everyday we managed to stay alive.

I remember a sight that have never left me till today at the tail end of the civil war. I was walking down the street on my way to the stream to fetch water, lo and behold was the sound of death (air raids) As we all ran in different direction looking for a safe place to take cover, I turned around to figure the direction my friends were running in, all of a sudden I saw the head of one off them yanked off the body, as a result of the fighter jets that killed innocent civilians for fun, what a horrible sight for a 17yr old. The words of plato “only the dead see the end of war” were forever engrained in my thoughts.

I am a proud Igbo man, a home boy and a native fowl. No demo. My friends call me Igbotic not because am a nerd, or a jewman. But because I represent and symbolise all the characteristics of a typical igbo man pre the civil war. The Igbos may have short circuited their political growth, but it doesn’t take away the fact that we are great Nigerians. I have learnt to be more Igbotic than I ever expected. As an igbo man, I have learnt to be more profitable in the things that I do. I have perfected the art of being tenacious in any dream I chase; to be industrious, consistent and powerfully focused. All the lessons I learnt from my brothers in the tribe have made me dogged, hardworking and exhibiting the ability and capacity to survive in any kind of weather. I am an original Nwa Biafra.

Needless to say that the igbo man is known to be one of the most entrepreneurial mind in the country. So it is particularly pathetic and unfortunate when some ignorant youths talk about this illusion called Biafra. History should teach us that Nationhood is Bloody, Hard and almost impossible when fantasy is the currency of demand. Even as Nigerians, see how our docility is killing our humanity. Didn’t the fall of Biafra after the genocide and the suffering of my people teach us anything? Haven’t we been marginalised enough? I Believe the Failure of the igbo nation is the fault of the people elites and decision makers. Why have we not poured our energy, capacity and Ability into making the South East the Dubai of the Nation as well as the engine room of the Nigerian Economy? Who would be our leaders when the south east is infested with political power grabbers, 419ers, mindless criminals and looters of our commonwealth and resources? Need I mention names?

See how we have migrated to different parts of Nigeria and the world which is good, made it home and developed our immediate environment. Why are we neglecting our home base, why are we running away from developing the South East?

Our problem may not after all be the man in Aso Rock from Daura or the ordinary Hausa or Yoruba man on the Streets of Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Warri or Ogbomosho. The problem is the lack of men of integrity and a progressive mind set. We lack the right kind of leadership that will fight for the interest of the People. Let it be clear to all that the suffering of the People from the South East is also the suffering of the people from the other geopolitical zones in Nigeria. It is therefore retrospectively insane to begin to think that a people with a problem would suddenly be relieved when they are attached with a tag #BIAFRA; What Nonsense and Insanity! Now how do you begin to imagine that while the agitation for the state of Biafra is being demanded by the gullible Ibo youths, those who have been or are in position of authority are either not interested or are continuing their expansive investments in other part of Nigeria? Who dem dey deceive? They divide us daily with Religion, Tribalism, Ethnicity and Petty Bigotry even among the Tribes and Ethnic composition in the South East there is divisiveness. Why is Namdi Kanu yet to realize that the Dreams of Nationhood are lost in the Altar of Deception.

Have we even considered that the population of my people from the south east outside the Region is twice the population of those in the south east? How can we who are supposed to be looking at making the South East the centralised Industrial Hub of the Nigeria Nation be the ones who are driving a wedge of unrealistic fantasy between Nigeria and our own people? When President Muhammadu Buhari sings the localisation and Nigerianazation song; We should be the ones to drive the narrative, because We Can.. When you have a willing Partner, who is interested in the Nigerianization of the Nigerian Economy; Why are some of my people busy creating or Poisoning the environment that are ordinarily designed to favour that which will promote the industrialization of the South East. Why have we become the enemy of our own home? Why hasn’t the “think home mentality” arrested every igbo billionaires and millionaires? Why are we eliminating the chances of Ibonising the Nigerian Economy by Nationalizing the Ibo Thought for a United and Prosperous Nigeria as well as for the benefits of all?

I cannot STAND here and tell you there are no problems of trust in Nigeria. I will be the last to say that the Ibo nation has not undergone persecution. I will be foolish to ignore the hunger that was used as a tool to starve the Ibo Nation during the civil war. I am perfectly in the know about the problems of the Nigeria structure, Abeg make we know our History but use am to work today to perfect tomorrow.

No one can argue the facts, and the facts are clear. The major problem of the Ibo Nation is also the major issue with the Nigeria State. ‘The Mindset’. The Mind must first be liberated, the thoughts must be harmonised and the people of the South East, my dear brothers and sisters must know that the development of the region is horrible because the leaders in the region have failed. Politically, Religiously, Societally and Communally. Over the past decades; where is the Accountability from the leadership with regards;

1. FAAC;

2. IGR;

3. LOCAL BONDS;

4. FOREIGN DEVELOPMENTAL LOANS;

5. AIDS; GRANTS & BUDGETARY SUPPORT;

6. THE MANY FEDERAL PROJECTS IN THE REGION etc

The Failure of Leadership is evident in our agitation for Fairness, Justice and Equality for every Nigerian not just for every Ibo man. And so the Mind of the typical Ibo Leader Needs a Revolution to be realigned for the Interest of the People rather than the interest of their pockets. Biafra is not the Solution, I truly don’t think so. So, Igbo ndi Oma. Let’s focus on our home land and begin to demand accountability and responsibility from many of our Scammers, Riffraff’s and Fraudsters in the Ibo Kingdom called leaders. Let’s us pause on the fantasy tagged Biafra for now. Let’s us dutifully work ourselves back into reckoning, by industrialising our home base.

I know we can, and we should.

I also urge Mr President to show mercy on our brother Nnamdi Kanu; Him be Pikin.

Biafra, my Igboticness is always on my mind because #OURMUMUDONDO.

Why we are hosting Big Brother Naija in South Africa – MultiChoice explains

MultiChoice, organisers of the Big Brother Naija Reality TV have explained why they’re hosting the show in South Africa.

A statement issued by Caroline Oghuma on behalf of the company, said, “?We have a fully equipped house in South Africa, which is used for the Big Brother shows.

“This means that we are able to achieve high production values whilst meeting tight timelines and ensuring the show comes to our viewers on time as planned, and with the same globally renowned quality. “

The house has played host to other Big Brother countries including; the general Big Brother Africa, Mozambique, Angola and now Nigeria,’’ the statement quoted Oghuma as saying.

Big Brother Nigeria: Why Nigeria Was Not A Choice For MultiChoice – Colin Udoh #BBNaija

Over the course of the weekend, the biggest talking point on my social TLs has been the location of the Big Brother Nigeria house.
Nigerians are up in arms because the house is allegedly located in South Africa, not Nigeria.
I do not know for sure where the house is located, but I would be hesitant about telling somebody else how to run his business, especially one that has proven to be so successful for decades.
I could talk about how this is a budgetary decision. Or how the cost of producing in Nigeria far outstrips that of producing in SA because people tend to bill three times higher or even more once they hear this company is involved because they feel they too must ‘chop’ from them.
Or even how high the cost of doing business in Nigeria is, with power issues, and so on.
But I won’t.
Instead, let me focus on some real issues that we almost always seem to miss.

1. Multichoice is a business. And the main focus of that business (like any other business) is to deliver profit to its shareholders.

2. Their business is built around entertainment, not national development. This is for those asking what BBN contributes to our national development. As long as you are entertained and you pay for that entertainment, does it really matter?
In any case, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu who is the host this season, is a BBN alumnus and it is fair to say that while he has shown that he has the talent to have succeeded anyway, he probably would not be where he is now without BBN.
This show (BBN) and many others like it, have thrown up stars who have now had life-changing opportunities.

3. NOW TO THE CRUX OF MY ARGUMENT. Rather than take potshots at how the so-called foreign businesses operate in Nigeria, how about we question our Nigerian businessmen?
I posted this on Bimbo Adeola’s page yesterday:
“When AIT started as a full blown pan African tv channel, SuperSport was a 3-hour sports belt on MNet called MNet SuperSports.
Between then and now, SuperSport has grown to over 20 WORLD CLASS channels and counting. AIT is still struggling with delivering chroma key backdrops and owing staff wages for months.
Rather than keep harping on about what ‘foreigners’ are doing or not doing with THEIR money, why don’t we challenge our billionaires (many of who are in that category because they pilfered our tax money) to get into the market and take them head on.”

4. Even in state run models, can we compare NTA to SABC? Former SuperSport presenter Thomas Mlambo left SS to join SABC. Will any right-thinking Nigerian leave a place like SS for NTA? And I say this with all due respect to my friends and colleagues who work at NTA.

In any case, our music artistes shoot their music videos in the same South Africa and we dance to them with giddy abandon without questioning their choice of location. Our celebrities go to the same SA or Dubai to get married and we celebrate them even more. Others go to the USA and Europe to have their children and we hail them.

Multichoice as a company is where it is because of good, strategic long term planning with the objective of delivering profit to its shareholders.

We have billionaires in Nigeria who should be in a position to effect the same kind of impact. Why have they not? Why are we not calling them out rather than demonizing a business entity trying to optimize its operations for profit?

And please don’t mention how ‘Nigerians killed HiTv’. Nobody killed HiTv but themselves with bad strategic management decisions.

Multichoice owe neither you nor I any obligation but to deliver great content. The only people they are accountable to, are their shareholders. You know, those people who actually invest THEIR money in the business with the sole aim of making a profit.

If you don’t like the way MC does business, you have two choices.
1. Start your own outfit and give them stiff, quality competition
2. Stop paying them and look for an alternative

“Sycophants make it hard for entertainers to remain humble” – DJ Jimmy Jatt

A lot of Nigerian entertainers are surrounded by sycophants, hence their lack of humility, says Jimmy Jatt, renowned disc-jockey.

The veteran DJ made the assertion while speaking on The Gist with Emma Ugolee, a show which aired on Hip TV over the weekend.

Ugolee, host of the show asked guests, Ayo Makun and Jimmy Jatt, to weigh in on the effects of fame on entertainers.

He asked: “Why do artistes change and forget everything they learn when they get fame and money, considering that most are from humble backgrounds?”

Jimmy Jatt responded by saying the entertainment industry is structured such that a newcomer can expect to get the top overnight.

He said: “They are surrounded by sycophants that tell them that they are more than what they are. If you have people that will always hold you down and keep you grounded, you won’t get to that point.

“In school, you have to pass exams to move to the next class. In entertainment, people pray to get in, and when they do, they are praying to have a PhD almost immediately.”

The disc jockey further added that entertainers can remain level-headed if they “understand” that there’s always another challenge after every accomplishment.

“You need to understand that whatever level you have gotten to, there are more levels to go. You can’t be bigger than all your fans,” he added.

First Chris Brown and Soulja Boy, Now Meek Mill Says He Would fight Drake for $5 Million

Meek Mill claims he would fight Drake for $5 million in a new video that surfaced today.

This celebrity boxing trend is getting out of control. Just yesterday RiFF RaFF said he wanted to fight 50 Cent for $2 million. Now it appears that Meek Mill is the next celebrity to propose a boxing match for an insane amount money.

In a new video that surfaced on Instagram yesterday, Meek appears to be in the gym training while also simultaneously declaring his interest in fight Drake. DJ Akademiks posted the video and claims that it was originally streamed on Instagram live. While we have no idea of when the video was recorded, you can clearly hear Meek proclaiming that he would fight Drake for $5 million as well as stating “We gone let Nicki be the ring girl.”

Akademiks also tagged 50 Cent to instigate that the rapper promote the fight as he has been hyping the Soulja Boy and Chris Brown boxing match.

Drake has seemingly been making attempts to squash the beef between himself and Meek Mill as he recently told fans he would never perform “Back To Back” again. But given the track record of beef between the two rappers, and now this video, it is not 100% out of the question that the fight could happen.

Check out the videos below from DJ Akademiks and place your bets in the comments below.

Unknown man breaks into Soulja Boy’s home

According to law enforcement sources a man busted into Soulja’s Hollywood Hills home early Tuesday morning. After busting the front door down the crook nabbed $10k in cash and $12k in jewelry.

We’re told SB wasn’t home at the time of the burglary … but his house is wired with surveillance cameras, one of which captured the suspect’s image.

Soulja and Chris Brown are taking their feud into a boxing ring probably in Dubai. Wack 100, who’s siding squarely with Soulja, says very clearly the fight is being controlled by West Coast gangs. Chris’ team, which includes Mike Tyson, begs to differ.

Cops are investigating the incident they were at the house again Wednesday afternoon. We’re told so far there’s no evidence Chris or his crew were involved.

Tupac Amaru Shakur’s love letter for auction at $25,000

An explicit hand-written love letter by late African-American rapper and actor Tupac Shakur has been offered for sale at 25,000 Dollars, 20 years after his death.

According to Goldin Auctions who displayed the legendary love letter on hits auction blog, the romantic poetic prose was penned by Tupac during his 1995 prison stint.

“Tupac wrote this letter to his paramour in black pen.

“The letter is incredibly explicit, and is a reply to a ‘passionate letter’ received by Pac.”

The letter describes the ‘sexual gymnastics’ that Tupac wishes to perform with his partner, in extremely vivid detail.

It includes an eye that Tupac drew and he mentioned blindfolds, bubble baths, oily massages and “12 positions of lovemaking”.

Tupac was a vocal participant during the East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry, becoming involved in conflicts with other rappers, producers, and record-label staff members.

On September 7, 1996, he was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting and was taken to the hospital where he died six days later at age 25.

Tupac was one of the most popular rap artists in the world during his short time in the spotlight.

He  released songs such as “All Eyez on Me,”, “Brenda’s Got A Baby,” “Changes,” “Ambitions Az A Ridah,” “Hit Em Up,” and more.

He has been ranked by Rolling Stone as 86th on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Soulja Boy, Chris Brown recruit Tyson, Mayweather to train for grudge match.

Hip-hop stars Soulja Boy and Chris Brown will apparently settle their social media fight the old fashioned way: with a real-life boxing match in Las Vegas in March.

In what started on social media, the duo are bound to go on a bout using their fists to settle their feud.

Both hip-hop stars have announced that they have signed on for a three-round bout that will be televised on pay-per-view and promoted by boxer Floyd Mayweather’s companies.

Soulja Boy, 26, put up a post promoting the fight on Instagram on Wednesday and said in the caption: “It’s going down! Signed my contract.” Soulja Boy said Mayweather is training him for the fight.

Brown, 27, also said on Instagram that the match was set, and announced that boxer Mike Tyson will train him for the bout, the Mirror reported.

The feud between the artists stems from Soulja Boy’s liking of an Instagram picture posted by Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran.

Drake Performs ‘Back to Back’ for the Last Time

Drake is leaving his Meek Mill beef in the past. While performing on New Year’s Eve at Hakkasan in Las Vegas, Drizzy announced that it would be his final time performing his scathing “Back to Back” diss track.

“If people do the most left field, fucked up shit to try and tear you down, you still gotta win no matter what,” he said on stage. “That’s the whole key about this shit. So I’ma do this song, and this is the last time I’m ever going to do this song…Winning by any means necessary, and when you win, please do it gracefully in 2017. That’s my message to you.”

Drake didn’t just ring in the new year with peace, he also brought it in with Jennifer Lopez. Although she reportedly cancelled her E11EVEN nightclub appearance to spend New Year’s Eve with her family, the multifaceted star counted down to 2017 with the 6 God.

According to reports, the rumored couple held hands as they walked out of the nightclub and into a VIP only lounge. They recently appeared to film a music video for their forthcoming collaboration, a cut inspired by Black Coffee’s “Superman.”

Don Jazzy begins music industry ‘revolution’ in Mavin Records

Lack of adequate structure has always been the bane of the Nigerian music industry but in 2017, Mavin Records appears intent on changing that.

What is ‘structure’ in regards to a music industry?

It’s basically the presence and availability of all the components required for the production and sales of music; from the conception stage till it gets to the ears of consumers.

From artistes and repertoire (A&R) to songwriters to producers to road managers to promoters, a lot goes into the process of building up an artiste to attain music/commercial success.

In reality, there’s hardly any record label in Nigeria that possesses the required manpower for a proper structure. In essence, there’s no wholesome record label in Nigeria.

Mavin Records, headed by Don Jazzy, is working towards building a structure by increasing its workforce from 55 to 120 in 2017.

This year, Don Jazzy plans to employ a licensing specialist, touring and logistics specialist, talent management professionals, style and image experts, among others.

The ace record producer made this known in his New Year’s message to Nigerians, Mavin business partners, fans and the media.

In part, Don Jazzy wrote: “A Mavin is someone who has exceptional talent and skill in their field. As part of our 2016 goals, we decided to increase our workforce to 50, which we surpassed by a slight margin as we have a workforce of 55.

“As you all know, the entertainment business is not complete without those who are skilled in the business, therefore we are seeking to expand our workforce to 120 in 2017 considering our forthcoming projects.

“We are reviewing portfolios for Business executives, Client servicing professionals, Style and Image experts, Digital Data and VAS Management executives, Government Liaison officers, CSR enthusiasts, Creative and Visual Production nerds, Talent and Catalog Management professionals, Content Developers, Retail, Sales and Fashion, Licensing specialist, Touring and Logistics specialist, Social Media Analyst and International Representatives in Accra, Nairobi , Abidjan, Dar es Salaam, Johannesburg, Douala , New York , London and Paris.

“If you are Mavin and you have what it takes become part of a revolution in the music and entertainment industry, then send your CV with a detailed cover letter to info@mavinrecords.com for consideration.”

His message, obviously, comes across as a signal of intent that Mavin Records wants to build a solid structure.

If successfully executed, perhaps, in time, other labels would follow suit and before long, Nigeria will have a structured music industry.

Mavin Records is home to Tiwa Savage, Iyanya, Korede Bello, Reekado Banks, Dr. Sid, D’Prince and DI’Ja.

Veteran actress Hilda Dokubo blasts Rivers state ministry of culture and tourism

Nollywood Actress, Hilda Dokubo is not in support of Rivers state’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s new law that states that consent and a written permission will now be needed to host entertainment shows and hospitality events within the state.

She blasted the Ministry in a video shared on social media this evening, branding it as ‘ridiculous and stupid’. She said:

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism finds an ingenious way of stifling innovation and creativity in Rivers State that will encourage touts and thieves to extort money from genuine hard working and honest citizens. They have gone rogue! We must fight back to save the entertainment industry, practitioners and her entrepreneurs.

HEADIES 2016: Why Most Celebrities Didn’t Turn Up for The Award #OPINION

The Headies was boycotted by Nigerian musicians. That fact was evident as the award show started. A huge number of fans were quick to point out the long rows of reserved seats for nominees and stars who failed to turn up.

The show which held on December 23, 2016, at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotels & Suites, had a very low turnout of celebrities. Their absence was glaring with numerous nominees and awardees absent at the award.

The first reason is that celebrities didn’t really boycott the Headies. A lot of them came too late to be given a seat at the head of the table, or step forward to accept their awards. Over the past two years, the Headies had started the show late in a bid to accommodate the lateness of stars. But this year was different. The organisers decided to kick off the award without the artistes. And the results was poor for TV.

Also, the Headies date for this year is in December, a holiday season when the stars are booked for numerous paid events. With clients to satisfy across the world, many artistes, being businessmen, would rather make the right choice of making money, than showing up at the Headies.

The Headies provides recognition and promotion, but performance fees are the reason why many stars do this, and they will rather be making money than making good waves on TV. This tweet below sums it all up. The Mavins are on their way to Cote D’Ivoire for a concert in Abidjan, while the entire YBNL crew have a paid appearance date at a club in Osogbo.

Finally, many celebrities just don’t care. It’s the truth. After 11 years of attending the Headies, many have become jaded, especially those without nominations or a chance to win anything at the trophy.

Why dress up, and drive down to the Headies, when I have no important role to play? Why? Why come out to watch other artistes win prizes that I also qualify for?

Also, others just want to avoid the limelight of live TV. Unlike what they are familiar with in their careers, the Headies is streamed live to millions of homes across the continent and beyond. As a star, you always have the cameras on you. This means you have to be of your best behavior and stay guarded all through. One wrong facial expression, a misplaced move, and ill-timed gesticulation, and you will forever become the butt of social media jokes, and endless memes. Ask Dija how she felt after last year’s enthusiastic jumping earner the bashing of her life.

Tekno Disqualified from The Headies

Tekno has been disqualified from the Headies. The singer who was nominated for the ‘Next Rated’ has been kicked off the list.

The category will now be tightly contested by Ycee, Aramide, Humblesmith and Mr Eazi, as the ‘Pana’ hit star misses out on the chance.

According a letter sent by the Headies management to Tekno’s record label Tekno lost out on his spot due to his refusal to honour the category and support the campaign.

Nominees are expected to attend promo activities for the event, and also take part in promotion for the category sponsor, Hyundai. Tekno failed to submit himself for engagements, promo campaign photos and more.

Tekno had earlier rubbished the Headies Awards when he was announced in the category. He took to Instagram to say “‘Next rated after how many years! Let’s be honest pls”.

His refusal to rate the award show and acknowledge the category is responsible for his lackadaisical attitude towards the show.

This isn’t the first time an artiste was disqualified from the Headies ‘Next Rated’ category. In 2013, Burna Boy came close to disqualification for not submitting himself to promo campaign activities.

In 2012, Chuddy K, was yanked off the nominee list due to information that he released an album in 2010: to qualify as a nominee in that category one must be an unreleased artist. He was replaced with Flowssick.

Sex Sells Music, Even Without Talent – Ghanaian Singer, Mzvee Reveals.

Ghanaian singer, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, better known by her stage name MzVee, believes that sex is a powerful tool in the hands of singers, even those who have little or no talent.

The fast-rising singer in a chat with PlanetTV urged ladies who want to go into entertainment to ensure that they were doing it for the passion and to be patient while at it as they could get stuck if they rushed things.

She said, ‘It sells definitely, 100%. It even sells when the talent is not good. It will sell you all the way.”

MzVee clinched the New Artiste of the Year award at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards

13 Important Takeaways from Michelle Obama’s Farewell Interview with Oprah Winfrey

Michelle Obama sat down with Oprah Winfrey on Monday night for her final farewell interview at the White House, and it was just as emotional, empowering, and beautiful as you’d expect it to be.

Here are just a few of the biggest takeaways and standout revelations from the CBS interview, which will air again on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 8 p.m. on OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network.

1. This election was just as tough for her as it was for you. The First Lady hit the campaign trail hard in support of Hillary Clinton this year, but as she explained to Oprah, this election was just as hard for her as a citizen as it was for her as First Lady. In the interview, Obama revealed she had gone to bed before the results of the election were called, only to wake up and find out Donald Trump had won when she checked her phone in the morning.

“This past election was challenging for me as a citizen,” she said. “To watch and experience. It was painful.”

2. Fellow WOC, take it from her: Racism is a reflection on the people being racist more than it is a reflection on you. Throughout her time as First Lady, and even when her husband was first campaigning back in 2007, Obama has been subjected to countless racist remarks and unforgivable levels of disrespect. But while at first, these remarks took her aback, she ultimately realized that what these horrific trolls were saying wasn’t in any way a reflection on her, but more a reflection on them.

“You know, color, wealth — these things that don’t matter still play too much of a role in how we see one other,” she said. “And it’s sad, because the things that least define us as people is the color of our skin, it’s the size of our bank account. None of that matters.”

“It’s our values,” she continued. “It’s how we live our lives. You can’t tell that from somebody’s race, somebody’s religion. People have to act it out. They have to live those lives. So that was the blow back, and then I thought, OK, well, let me live my life out loud so that people can then see and judge for themselves. And that’s what I want young people to do. Just live your life.”

3. The Obamas are truly the greatest couple of all time. In the middle of the interview, President Barack Obama popped in as a surprise guest, gushing about his wife and once against proving what an incredible power couple they are.

“We all knew she was brilliant and cute and strong and a great mom,” Obama said of his wife. “But I think the way she blended purpose and policy with fun so that she was able to reach beyond Washington, on her health care initiative and her military family work, it was masterful.”

4. The First Lady has no intentions of running for office. Ever. Bursting bubbles and breaking hearts everywhere, Obama reiterated that she has no intentions of running for president in 2020 or beyond, both because of what a difficult job it is and because she wouldn’t want to put her family through it again.

“The next family that comes in here, every person in that family — every child, every grandchild — their lives will be turned upside down in a way that no American really understands,” she said. “And it’s not for us to complain about it, so you don’t hear complaints, but it is a truth, an actuality, that there is a weight to it.”

“People don’t really understand how hard this is,” she continued. “And it’s not something that you cavalierly just sort of ask a family to do again.”

5. Her mom will be leaving D.C. to go back to Chicago as soon as they’re out of office. While both the President and First Lady were vague about where they plan to move after Sasha finishes high school, the First Lady made it very clear that at least one member of the family would be peacing out as quickly as possible: her mother.

“She’s going back to Chicago — she’s, like, ‘Bye, Felicia,'” she said. “Grandma is done.”

6. Malia and Sasha are both going through their rebellious teen phase. Yes, even members of the First Family aren’t immune to teenage hormones, and given that most teens “start to bristle against all kinds of authority” at some point, it makes sense that growing up in the White House might have its own set of problems. Luckily, the First Lady acknowledged that they’ve mostly been able to work through any “tensions.”

“Imagine being 18, 17, 16, 15, and you’ve got at least eight men with guns driving you around,” she said. “Walking into your parties. You know, not letting you ride in friends’ cars. I mean, there were those tensions, for sure, that we had to sort of work through.”

7. In her opinion, her greatest achievement has been setting an example for young women everywhere — especially young black women. During her interview, she discussed how proud she is that so many young women got to see “somebody educated, strong [and] outspoken … on a regular basis” during her time as First Lady.

8. Sometimes you have to brush off the haters if you want to move forward. In order to get through her everyday life, the First Lady often just has to put on her blockers and power through — incredible advice for even us plebeians.

9. Words matter. Throughout the interview, the First Lady continuously reiterated how much words matter — especially for kids.

“Words matter,” she said. “What we say, how we behave — we are modeling to the next generation.”

10. Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey are definitely going to go glamping soon. Now that the First Lady is about to have some free time, Oprah is trying to sell her on taking a fabulous vacation. Just imagine how epic it would be to go glamping with two of the most powerful, incredible, and influential humans in the world.

11. She and the President are ready to do whatever is necessary to help the Trumps succeed. The First Lady is ready to pass on the torch to her successor, Melania Trump, and has said “the door is open.”

“Words matter,” she said. “[T]he words that we say moving forward, all of us, it matters. Which is one of the reasons why Barack and I are so supportive of this transition. Because no matter how we felt going into it, it is important for the health of this nation that we support the commander-in-chief.”

12. That being said, she still can’t wrap her head around the leaked audio tape between Trump and Billy Bush. After The Washington Post first published the clip, Obama responded with a fiery, impassioned speech pointing out precisely why it was so inappropriate and scary — and of course, she still stands by what she said 100 percent.

“You know, to have a candidate for the presidency speaking in such terms about women, as I said, was not — it was not a normal thing,” she said in the interview. “So my response, you know, in light of what I was seeing from my female staff, what I was hearing from my daughters, their reaction to it, for me required a different kind of response.”

“You can’t just stand before people and just give a regular political speech,” she continued. “Something that Barack and I have always tried to be, in this office, is honest … A lot of people had been shaken to their core. And still are. They are still feeling the reverberations of that kind of caustic language.”

13. Hope is more important than ever. Given that one of the biggest parts of Barack Obama’s campaign was hope, Oprah asked if she felt the First Lady thought her husband lived up to maintaining it.

“Yes, I do — because we feel the difference now,” she said. “See, now we’re feeling what not having hope feels like. You know? Hope is necessary. It’s a necessary concept.”

“And Barack didn’t just talk about hope because he thought it was just a nice slogan to get votes,” she continued. “I mean, he and I and so many believe that if you — what else do you have if you don’t have hope?”

Rob Posts Public Apology to Dream & Blac Chyna

This Saturday, Rob Kardashian admitted in a series of Instagrams that his fiancée Blac Chyna left him and took their 1-month-old daughter with her. The move came after Chyna’s Instagram was hacked, and screenshots of messages were posted between her and her friends, detailing her plans to allegedly leave Kardashian after a year.

“Sorry to be so open but I’m not feeling so good after seeing @blacchyna messages about me and what her plans were,” Rob wrote in one post. “I have never been this heartbroken in my life. I don’t mind being so open or if anyone thinks I’m being weak but I don’t play when it comes to Family and Chyna was my Family and thought we were getting married. I treated her as a Queen. My baby girl is 1 month old and Chyna took her and left this beautiful home that I just bought for us. Right before Christmas.”

He later deleted the posts and wrote an apology on his Instagram . “This weekend I was in an emotional bad place and did some things that embarrassed myself and my family,” he said. “I apologize and I’m seeking help to deal with my flaws/issues. Please pray for me and I’m sorry @blacchyna. You are a great mother to our child and I love you.”

He posted a second tribute to his daughter. “I am going to get better for you, Dream,” he wrote. “You are my life and gave me a new start on being a better me. Love you.”

Rob Kardashian says in an Instagram post that fiancee Blac Chyna has left him and taken their month-old daughter with her.

Awilo Longomba, Onyeka Onwenu, others shine at Sunny On Sunday concert

King Sunny Ade’s legendary status was again confirmed at his concert tagged Sunny On Sunday which held at the Temple Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Each of the performing acts mounted the huge stage with full compliments of their bands to churn out soulful melodies.

By the time the event went full swing, the hall was packed full as the event flow was masterfully marshalled by comedian Tee A and interspersed with generous doses of humour by the funny duo of Funke Akindele and Lolo Omotunde aka Lolo 1 of Wazobia FM.

To whet the appetite of the audience, the event opened with performances by fast-rising acts including Tyson Noir, Jeff, Moyeen and Niniola. Darey, Iyanya and Omawumi, took the momentum several notches higher with medleys of their popular tunes including Pray For Me, Kukere and Bottom Belle Medley, respectively.

King Sunny Ade pulled a surprise on Onyeka Onwenu as he joined her on stage to melt hearts with a seamless rendition of Wait For Me. Onyeka did not leave the stage without serenading the audience with tunes like Nyogogo and Ekwe.

The celebrant, King Sunny Ade, nodded and danced along as Darey, Tiwa Savage and Sir Shina Peters, SSP, sang his evergreen tunes. One of the highpoints of the night was when SSP dressed like a hip-hop star and bouncing with youthful energy took the audience down memory lane by dishing out some of his greatest classics.

Congolese sensation, Awilo Longomba with his exotic dancers sent the audience into revelry with his monster hit songs such as Gate Le Coin, Coupe Bibamba and Karolina.

Although he is 70 and aging gracefully, King Sunny Ade did not miss the chance to dazzle the audience with his famous footwork. When challenged to a dance duel by the Congolese sensation, Papa Youth as he is fondly called responded with equal gusto sending the audience into frenzy.

Bringing the gig to a climax, King Sunny Ade and his African Beats Band teased the audience with a medley of popular evergreen songs from his collection including Easy Motion Tourist, Merciful God and Aye N’reti among others. He then launched into praise chants of eminent personalities at the occasion. Toyosi Adegeye, the 13 year-old daughter of the veteran musician, capped the evening with a medley of Yoruba gospel songs.

The concert was beamed live on DsTV and GOTV to 278 million viewers within Nigeria and the rest of Africa.

The event attracted serving governors and ministers including Governor Ibikunle Amosu of Ogun State; Governor Ikpeazu Okezie of Abia State; Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture,; Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Power, Works and Housing; and Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Mines And Steel.

Some of the dignitaries at the occasion were Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Adewumni Ogunsanya, Herbert Wigwe, Tunde Folawiyo and Oba Saheed Elegushi.

Rihanna Slams Beyoncé Feud Rumors Over Grammy Nominations

The “Work” singer wants everyone to “drop this topic.” She dismisses the suggestion of her having a beef with Jay Z’s wife, adding, “We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”

Rihanna accidentally fuelled longstanding rumors of a feud between the women on Instagram yesterday after Grammy nominations were announced. It all started when RiRi “liked” a photo on a fan account that read,Congrats and all to @badgalriri and all for her 8 Grammy nods but tbh f–k them because they snubbed her for Song of the Year and Album of the Year… I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough* [lemon emoji]… f–k you Grammys.”

With her nine nominations for Lemonade yesterday, Beyoncé is the most-nominated female artist in Grammy history. Bey is also the artist with the most nominations this year; Rihanna, Drake, and Kanye West tied for second place with eight nominations each.

Judge Denies Brad Pitt’s request to keep Divorce Details Secret

Brad Pitt filed a request for an emergency hearing in order to seal the documents involved in his divorce and custody battle with Angelina Jolie.

The actor’s attorney, Lance Spiegel, confirmed to E! News that Pitt had moved to keep all matters regarding the former couple’s divorce as well as the information about their six underaged children—Shiloh Jolie Pitt, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, Knox Jolie-Pitt and Pax Jolie-Pitt—private as their legal battle continues.

The request came shortly after documents went public regarding Pitt and Jolie’s temporary custody agreement, which was established last week.

On Wednesday, the A-listers’ attorneys met in court regarding the filing. Jolie’s attorney, Laura Wasser, confirmed to E! News that they “won” as a judge denied Brad’s request for an emergency hearing.

However, Spiegel tells us Pitt can still win his motion. He explained that the judge did not see Brad’s request as an “emergency action” but did not deny the request to seal the documents. Rather, the hearing has been scheduled for January, and Pitt still has a chance to make them private.

A source tells E! News the reason Pitt chose to file was because Jolie and her team “chose to make public what supposed to be a confidential custodial agreement.”

Another insider close to Pitt told People magazine, “Angelina has consistently made public statements and public filings throughout this process. He has not. All he is saying—and any therapist would agree here—is that he wants to do what is in the best interests of his children, and his entire family, including her, frankly. And that is to keep this private.”

The source added, “It is inconceivable why anyone would argue against this being private. What is the argument for having it public? Why would you want any details about this incredibly difficult time to be broadcast to the whole world?”

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, E! News obtained the documents which confirmed the couple had reached a temporary custody agreement.

According to the docs, Pitt and Jolie’s children will remain in the actress’ custody, and Pitt will continue to have “therapeutic visitation” with them as well as partake in weekly individual therapy sessions with them. He will also have to submit random drug and alcohol testing.
They reached the agreement a few weeks after the FBI officially closed the investigation into Pitt regarding an alleged incident between him and a child aboard a private plane on Sept. 15.

Modern family actress Sofia Vergara and her ex-Fiance Battle Over her Embryos

The ongoing legal drama between Sofia Vergara’s and her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb over their frozen embryos just took another turn.

According to E! News, ‘a right-to-live’ lawsuit against Sofia Vergara was filed Tuesday on behalf of two embryos conceived by Vergara and Loeb in 2013.

The fertilized eggs are listed as plaintiffs “Emma” and “Isabella” in the lawsuit, and Loeb is requesting to receive custody of the female embryos in order for them to live and ultimately inherit a trust fund that was created in their names.

The documents stated that Vergara has “effectively abandoned and chronically neglected” the embryos by “refusing to consent to their development or care.”

With this new development, a legal representative for Sofia Vergara released a statement Wednesday which read:

“Next week the judge presiding over the case was to rule on Ms. Vergara’s request for sanctions against Mr. Loeb for refusing to comply with a court order, and on her motion for summary judgment-seeking dismissal of the case he filed against her, attempting to get control of pre-embryos that he created with Vergara.”

“That genetic material was created pursuant to a written agreement that required both parties written consent to attempt to create a pregnancy. Apparently Mr. Loeb and his counsel, knowing that he was about to lose decided to attempt to save face by taking their proverbial ball and going home. Reports are out that Mr. Loeb has caused a lawsuit to be filed on behalf of the pre-embryos in Louisiana, essentially trying to get the same relief that he was trying to get through his failed legal attempt in California.”

Last month, a California judge told Loeb that he must name two of is ex-girlfriends who terminated their own pregnancies over 20 years ago in order for the case to continue. But Loeb refused to release the names of those exes.

He told Page Six
“I would rather go to jail than reveal the names. I believe we have to protect a woman’s right to privacy.”

After Sofia and Loeb broke off their engagement in 2014, she asked for their frozen embryos to be destroyed but in April 2015, Loeb filed a lawsuit to prevent the destruction of the embryos.

The first day Khloé Kardashian launched her denim line ‘Good American’, the jeans company made $1 million. Good American, broke the world record for sales in fashion history, raking in $1 million in just 24 hours.

Good Denim celebrates women with curves. Khloe said:
“I’m so happy with the success we have had in the last month, but we have so far to go. This is only the beginning”.

“What’s really encouraging is the customer response. When people try the jeans they fall in love. The reviews speak for themselves and that’s something I am really proud of. We’ve created a product that works on a girl who’s size 00 and looks equally great in a size 24.”

Zahra Buhari’s Wedding Gets New Date

A new date has reportedly been fixed for the wedding of President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra.

The new date for the wedding, which was postponed last week, is December 16, according to an invite, which is making the rounds.

The new date was reportedly fixed after due consultation and approval by the president, who demanded for the shift in the date after the heated media attention generated by the delivery of expensive designer boxes containing gifts from the groom’s family to the 21-year-old bride.

“Hajia Aisha M. Buhari cordially invites you to the wedding Fatiha of her daughter, Zahra Buhari and Ahmed Indimi, which will take place on December 16, while the Kamu will take place in Abuja. Detail of the events will be communicated to you,” the invite stated.

The wedding was said to have been postponed as a result of President Buhari’s insistence on a low-key ceremony for the 21-year-old bride to be.

It was gathered that the president was uncomfortable with the attention the media was giving to the event, especially reports that the groom’s family was presenting 30 Louis Vuitton bags to Zahra.

It was widely reported that the groom, Ahmed Indimi, had presented bags, worth about £120,000 (N47,144,502), to the bride ahead of the wedding.

An introduction ceremony between both families had earlier held at the Aso Villa, Abuja on Friday, November 18, with the wedding programme scheduled for between November 30 and Sunday, December 4, 2016.

Indimi is the marketing director of Oriental Energy Resources.

Desiigner Is Being Sued For $500k Over Allegedly Crashing A Rented Ferrari

Desiigner’ pockets are about to be a little lighter, because he’s being sued for damaging a rented Ferrari back in June. Two of his friends, who have also been named in the lawsuit, allegedly gave the rapper permission to drive the car, however, he crashed it and now the rental company is suing for $500,000!

The 2014 Ferrari is valued at $220k, but they want $500k, because they claim that they’re losing out on as much as $1,599 per day if they were able to rent it.

According to TMZ, “The docs also included a cryptic tweet, supposedly from Desiigner, saying, “If you have a luxury car you better know how to drive.” The rental company thinks it’s a confession, but we checked and the account doesn’t look like it belongs to Desiigner.”

A re for Desiigner tells TMZ, “This is the first that Desiigner or his team have heard about this lawsuit. The minute he has had a chance to consult with his attorney, his managers or his attorney will respond.”

Brad Pitt is going to court to keep his custody war with Angelina Jolie private, and sources connected with Brad say his motivation is to thwart her from further damaging their children by airing their dirty laundry in public.

Sources connected to the case tell TMZ … Brad filed docs Tuesday in family court, requesting an emergency hearing. We’re told he intends to ask the judge to seal all documents and proceedings related to his and Angelina’s ongoing battle for custody of their 6 kids.

Several sources say Angelina filed the documents because she feared Brad was angling to change their temporary agreement so that he could have unmonitored visits with the children. We’re told

Angelina is relying on the family therapist, who says it’s too early for Brad to have unmonitored visits — but she does want him to have solo visits … once the therapist signs off.

Sources connected with Brad, however, are calling BS … saying the only document filed in the case is the one Angelina blasted out to the world … exposing their 6 children to needless pain. Our Brad sources say there was no reason for Angelina to file a private agreement, and make it public other than to trash Brad and make the children collateral damage.

We’re told he has made NO move to change the private agreement that was always meant to remain private — and he feels by gratuitously making it public the way Jolie did … it’s evidence she’s a bad parent.

Brad will get his shot within a few hours to argue the case should remain private. We’re told the emergency hearing is slated for Wednesday morning.

‘‘Soldier’ Was Actually My Song, But It Became Falz’s’ – Simi

Nigerian singer Simi is on the cover of the latest issue of Accelerate TV’s The Covermagazine.

In the accompanying interview, the ‘Jamb Question’ singer answers questions on a variety of issues, including her ‘chemistry’ with rapper Falz and their hit song, ‘Soldier’ which was actually her song.

According to her, ‘‘Soldier’ actually started out as my song, I wrote the song and he had heard the song even before ‘Jamb Question’ and I was like you know, ‘you can write a verse for this, but let me be honest with you this song is not going to come out for a while because I already have other material I’m trying to put out’. He was like no problem and then when he was working on his album he called me and was like ‘I want to do a song with you’ and I was like ‘Okay’. Actually, I was even fighting and gunning for an Afrobeat song. He was like ‘nahh nahh’ , that soldier song and I said ‘but that’s my song’. So we flipped it and it became his song.’
