The Ekiti state police command on Wednesday announced that it had arrested a suspected ritualist with the head of a 12-year-old child.
Alberto Adeyemi, the state police public relations officer, said David Oluwatosin and Tosin Oluwatosin, brothers of the same parent were behind the act.
Adeyemi said David is currently at large, but that Tosin was nabbed in Ifaki Ekiti, Ido/Osi local government area, following an intelligence report.
“One of the suspects is on the run, the victim is about 12 years old but we are still looking for the severed body and we are also on the trail of the one at large, after investigation, the suspects will be charged to court,” he said.
Adeyemi lamented over incessant cases of beheading in the state, saying the police would also investigate if the two brothers were behind the worrisome trend.
This is the third time in three weeks that the state would record an incident of beheading. The first two happened in the heat of a land dispute at Ayede-Itaji.
