#RiversRerun: 3 Persons Injured as PDP and APC Supporters Clash in Opobo

There was pandemonium and chaos in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State after APC and PDP supporters clashed.

 

Three persons were left critically injured after supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress have clashed at ward 7 unit 9 in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State.

 

According to Punch, the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASSA, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, who hails from the area has reportedly visited the the scene of the clash.

 

When contacted Peterside said, “Opobo/Nkoro is peaceful generally now. We observed that they imported some people from outside the LGA.

 

“Election materials for one unit was hijacked by some boys, but the security agencies have recovered them. Materials have arrived and it (election) is going orderly for now.”
