Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has urged Muslims to use this year’s Ramadan fast to pray for peace, security and God’s intervention in tackling the myriad of socio-economic challenges confronting the nation.
In a statement to mark the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fast signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki thanked God for the grace to participate in another holy obligation.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, yesterday appealed to Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan to offer special prayers for Nigeria and her leaders at all levels.
Dogara, who described the month as a special one which Muslims around the world focus on prayer, fasting, giving out charity and religious devotion, said Nigeria ought not be left out in this period of prayers.
He said through a statement by his spokesman, Turaki Hassan in Abuja that the country was in dire need of special prayers in view of the present state of the economy and the security situation in the country.
