A 24-year-old man, Ilemobayo Anjorin, was beaten to death by an angry mob in Ondo town at the weekend for allegedly stealing a goat. The deceased and one of his friends were said to have stolen the goat which belongs to a woman in the street.

It was learnt that while Anjorin was apprehended by the people around, his friend ran away. He was reportedly beaten by the mob, mainly students of Adeyemi College of Education, before being rescued by the police and taken to a private hospital where he was confirmed dead.

A human rights activist, Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun, condemned the attitude of the mob, saying such cases should be reported to the police.
