Lagos State Police Command says it is investigating one Mr. Osifala Olaseni, a biology teacher with Queens College, Yaba, Lagos for alleged sexual assault of a JSS2 student. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatia Owoseni, stated this yesterday when the Commander of 435 BSG, Mr Paul Masiyer, paid him a courtesy call in his office. Owoseni said: “As a responsible organisation, we are aware of a story trending on social media accusing a male teacher of Queens College, one Mr Osifala, of assaulting a student. We did not wait for a formal complaint, but began a process to bring whosoever was responsible to (book).

We invited the principal and Mr. Osifala, and I interrogated them. Our Compliant Response Unit has also taken over the investigation and we received a letter from the Old Girls Association on their interim report on the matter. We have stepped into the matter, even without them calling us in.” It would be recalled that the social media was agog with a report on a blog by one Mrs Chinyere Okoye who claimed that her JSS 2 daughter was sexually molested by Olaseni, the school Biology teacher, during lights out. However, the school management and students said the allegation is false and a calculated attempt to dent the image of the school and the teacher. To this end, the students and workers embarked on a peaceful protest on Monday in support of the teacher.
