Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has commended the security agencies for their contributions to the success of his administration in the last two years.
Obiano made the commendation during the launch of a book titled “Willie Obiano: Turning Deficits into Assets in Anambra,” a compilation of his biography and strides as governor.
He said that the safe security environment created in the state by the agencies, including the army, the police, FRSC, NDLEA, immigration, navy, prisons and civil defence had aided the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.
He promised that his administration would continue to ensure good governance and enhanced welfare for workers.
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike, described the Obiano administration as “two years of brilliant success’’.
Ike said he was pleasantly surprised with the achievements of Obiano in spite of the standard set by his predecessor, Chief Peter Obi.
He urged him to remain focused as the people of the state were still expecting more from him.
In his remarks, the author of the book, Mr Obiora Nzekwu, said the book was to highlight the achievements of the governor in the areas of security, education and industrialisation.
Nzekwu said that the 585-page book with eight chapters was also to put Obiano on the spotlight and spur him to do more for the people.
