The Champions League group-stage draw birthed the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to his homeclub Malmo.
Following the draw the club’s official website crashed as fans of the club were desperate to know when Ibra would make his return home.
According to Malmo’s head of communications, Peter Ahlander: “There was a lot of pressure on it [the website] just after the draw was made,” he said while speaking to Reuters.
The site is still struggling to load promptly despite it being more than 12 hours since the draw was completed.
Ibrahimovic himself posted a message on his official Facebook account saying it was “a dream” to return to his old stomping ground.
The best that could happen. I have experienced a lot during my football career and this will be one of those moments… He posted on Thursday.
Ibrahimovic, who was born in Malmo, began his successful professional career with the current Swedish champions.
