FG Orders Continuous Stringent Screening Of Cabin Crew Members

Federal Government has ordered the Department of State Security Service, DSS, to henceforth carry out stringent screening of all crew members of airlines, especially those operating regional and international routes.

This is as the management of Arik Air on Tuesday commenced critical investigation into activities of its ground staff following the arrest of one of its crew members, Mr. Chika Ugwu Udensi in Heathrow, London in United Kingdom over drug possession.

A presidency source confided in our correspondent that the federal government was highly embarrassed by the involvement of the crew in the dastardly act.

To this end, the Presidency had ordered the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, Mrs. Binta Bello, to immediately write a circular to the DSS to continuously carry out strict checks on cabin crew members while all the privileges they hitherto enjoyed should be scrapped.
