Fight almost broke out at the Lagos TAN office in the Festac area of Lagos on Monday evening 23rd March at the accreditation of its Lagos agents for the March 28th Presidential elections.
It was learnt that the program which was scheduled for 12noon but later shifted to 3:30pm didn’t start until about 5pm with identification of the agents who were then told to hold on for their souvenirs & gifts. Trouble was said to have started at about 10pm when the agents who had become weary of waiting for Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah to address them were told he was with a VIP & had directed that they be given 5,000 (Five Thousand Naira) each as appreciation for their coming. The agents were said to have rejected the cash gift which they felt was a slap on their faces after waiting for about 12 hours. They were said to have threatened fire & brimstone, not just for the paltry sum but for the insensitivity shown by TAN over their plight.
The agents who numbered about 150 are expected to turn up the online support for President Goodluck Jonathan as well as increase the media attack on the presidential candidate of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari.
The last may not have been heard of this agent accreditation exercise as they have vowed to boycott all online TAN activities during the presidential elections
Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon on a daily basis.
