The fliers that were distributed in Gombe state last week supposedly from Boko Haram, asking true Muslims not to participate in the forthcoming elections, is still being debated. Now, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has released a video vowing to disrupt the March 28 general election.
The threat video follows the two suicide attacks which took place in Borno state on Tuesday and killed 38 people.
“This election will not hold even if we are dead. Even if we are not alive Allah will never allow you to do it,” Shekau said.
The video was released on Twitter, the first time the group is releasing a video via that platform.
