Wike Deserves To Be Rivers Gov, Says Okocha

The Former President Of The Nigeria Bar Association (Nba), Ocj Okocha, A Senior Advocate Of Nigeria (San), Has Explained Why The Immediate Past Minister Of State For Education, Nyesom Wike, Deserves To Be The Next Governor After The Tenure Of Rotimi Amaechi In 2015.

Okocha Also Declared That He Would Not Hesitate To Vote For Wike, If He Was Chosen As The Governorship Candidate Of The Peoples Democratic Party (Pdp) In RIvers State, In The 2015 Election.

Okocha Stated This On Wednesday While Briefing Journalists In Port Harcourt On The Contentious Power Rotation Regarding The State Governorship Slot.

He Emphasised That The Interest Of A Political Party Was Paramount In Every Election, And The Choice Of The Party For A Particular Candidate To Represent It Could Not Be Faulted.

“My Position On This Matter (Rotation Of Rivers State Governorship) Is That The Selection Of Candidate For Participation In Election Is A Matter EXclusively Between The Purview Of The Political Party.”

It Is Their Right And Entitlement To Select The Candidate, Whom They Best Feel Could Win The Relevant Elections For Them.

“And In That Matter, So Long As The Party Has Done All That Is Necessary And The Candidate, Or Likely Candidates Have Done All That Is Necessary, The Party Is Entitled To Select The Candidate Of Its Choice, Which It Believes Will Facilitate That Party’s Victory At The Relevant Election,” He Said.
