Banks Close Activities In Akure Over Robbery Scare

BANKS in Akure, the Ondo State capital, hurriedly closed shops yesterday, following rumours of impending robbery across the state.

Commercial activities were completely paralyzed for hours as the news spread like wild fire.

Customers were asked to vacate the banking halls immediately the news got to managers of the banks across the state capital.

Reports  gathered says there were reports that some dare-devil gang of armed robbers had arrived the state capital around 10a.m., yesterday.
Many banks even asked their staff to vacate the bank premises and await text messages, if situation normalises.
