APC Writes Jonathan And Police IG On Asari’s Threat To Lai Mohammed

The All Progressives Congress on Tuesday wrote a letter to President Goodluck Jonathan alleging threats to its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, by the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari.

In the letter which was signed by its National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni, the APC said Dokubo-Asari’s threat was contained in an interview he granted to the online newspaper Premium Times on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014.

The party said the threat was sequel to a press statement   issued on behalf of the party by Mohammed on October 8, 2014, asking the Federal Government to explain the reported presence of Dokubo-Asari on the plane that transported US$9.3m cash to South Africa

In the interview, Dokubo-Asari said while he would adopt a civilised response to Mohammed by first suing the APC spokesperson for his remarks, he warned that should the courts failed to deliver justice, “he will resort to self-help by using his hands and any other means to deal with Mr. Mohammed.
