We Will Cut Budget Allocation To The National Assembly Soon – Senator Bukola Saraki
Published:6 Feb, 2014
I am of those millions of Nigerians who think the National Assembly gets too much of our national wealth in N150 billion every year. They were on about N50 billion most of the Obasanjo years. They currently get more allocations than about 20 Nigerian States individually. This has always formed part of my engagement with any member of the National Assembly I get to engage with at any level – private or public. Today, I put the idea to Senator Bukola Saraki, former Kwara State Governor mostly regarded for his Agricultural Revolution in the State, his response was emphatic enough for a short blog post. See picture of conversation below. I believe we can push the matter from here. He is the first National Assembly member to agree with me on the matter of the NASS budget cut. Others have always come up with one weak argument, excuse or the other. That budget must go down! But it won’t if we don’t keep pushing #OurNASS.
