Breaking News: Military Declares 24 hour Curfew as Boko Haram Attack Airforce Base & Borno Airport

News report has it that the Boko Haram sect lunched fresh attack on Monday in various part of Maiduguri, Borno State capital. The series of fresh attacks has made the military to impose a 24 hours curfew in Maiduguri.

Army spokesman Ibrahim Attahiru on Monday said  that one of the attacks struck near the city’s airport but he was not able to provide further details.

News sources have reported that the Composite Group Air Force Base in Maiduguri, the Maiduguri International Airport and other places in Borno State were allegedly attacked in the early hours of today by gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram.

During the period of curfew, government pleads with all citizens to remain calm.

Alhaji Ahmed Jidda the Secretary to the State Government  said “Only vehicles on emergency calls and essential services are allowed to move while the curfew will be lifted as soon as situation improves”
