As expected, condolence messages are pouring in on the death of former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu who passed away aged 65 years. Here is a message from Senator Bukola Saraki unedited.
ABUJA,
14TH SEPTEMBER 2013,
CONDOLENCE
I receive the news of the death of Dr Olusegun Agagu, the former governor of Ondo State, with great shock and deep sadness. His sudden demise at age 65years is a painful loss and again, we have indeed lost a foremost politician and an illustrious son of the Ondo clan.
I find Mr Agagu’s death most shocking and hard to believe considering the clean bill of health passed on him recently, words are not adequate to express how deeply sorry i am of this devastating news. We have lost a rare gem to the cold hands of death. His outstanding charisma and humility as former governor and minister of the federal republic will be sorely missed. The people of Ondo State has lost a true native son and Nigeria will miss his wealth of experience as a public servant.
I offer my profound sympathy to his children and his numerous friends, associates and colleagues.
On behalf of myself and the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District, I extend my sincere condolence to Governor Olusegun Mimiko, the people, government of Ondo State and the Agagu’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with them as they go through this moment of grief but with total submission to Almighty God. May God grant them the strength and the fortitude to bear this painful loss and may his Soul Rest in Peace. (Amen)
Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON)
