Last night the world of twitter, BBM and Facebook went agog with the sight of Charly Boy’s nude pictures. I simply watched in awe, shame, disgust, disappointment and also pity (if I’m allowed to use all the words together)as I scrolled through all the pictures.
As you rightly said Japh, I still can’t decipher whether this is simply an act of desperation or just a useless adventurous trip into the world of madness. The guy is ill, trust me!
Simply disgusting! Well, I’m not suprised as I had long doubted his sanity. When ppl deny the knowledge of God, He gives them up to reprobate minds; they begin to do things that are not convenient. I doubt if our youths and children need role models like this.
I once wrote on The Relativity of Art which discussed about people’s perception of art which is based on their education, exposure, experience, empathy and evolvement.
You judge this photograph based on all these I have listed. If you are not well educated or exposed to (nude) art you may this this as the work of the devil. But it you have an open mind, you begin to look deeper and find the reasons behind it.
As someone has rightly said, if it was a white person that did this(exposure) you might not criticise him this much, how if he has done it to create awareness for prostrate cancer (empathy) you begun to think otherwuse.
I have seen life art classes where people voluntarily comes out naked and wants to he drawn by different artists, then you are looking beyond the nakedness but the art of human form which is different. This is art and not like maths, where two plus two will ALWAYS be four.
We know who Charly Boy is, allow his self expressions. He is an adult, if you dont like his art, someother people out there VALUE it. So b? open minded.
