#NoBullsh*t: Disclosure: Mission Alpha! ~ Adesubomi Plumptre @subomiplumptre

Yesterday, I whispered a quiet prayer, “Lord, where are the Alphas? Where are they hidden?”
Alphas – those distinct individuals who are always at the forefront of leadership and change in any organisation or nation. To them, NOTHING is impossible and they detest people who tell them otherwise. They combine intellect and compassion; bestride knowledge and wisdom.
They are idealistic, possess the fear of God, care about people and are very generous – giving of themselves and their resources.
They are emotionally stable, mature and have a certain groundedness.
They love life and themselves. They have a very high self-concept and are almost arrogant.
They are powerful, are at the forefront of their fields, successful or succeeding.
They are exposed, cultured, not narrow minded, parochial or bigoted.
They provide & implement solutions rather than criticize and pontificate.
They are leaders not bosses. Bosses get the job done. Leaders inspire and make change happen.
Finally, they are rare.
I have met thousands of people in my short lifetime. Sadly, I can only attest to meeting just 3 Alphas. Perhaps it’s because the prevailing environment in our nation kills initiative, iconoclasm, excellence & idealism, while limiting exposure. In this environment, mediocrity and selfishness (of gargantuan proportions) are enthroned, while chivalry, honour and selflessness are scorned. The things that inspire and shape minds e.g. music, poetry, literature and art, are considered trivial “unnecessaries”.
Mercifully, the true hallmark of an Alpha is that he/she succeeds against the odds, usually at great personal costs.
Many Betas occupy Alpha roles. Sometimes, they’re thrust into the spotlight because nature abhors a vacuum. Other times, they masquerade as Alphas, but you can smell the shallowness on them. They know the position is much bigger than them. Alphas rarely entertain such second thoughts. Alphas know they were born for leadership without equivocation.
If we must change the world and our country, we need more Alphas. Extraordinary problems require extraordinary people. We need a super team like the Avengers! So can the real Alphas please stand up! We need them to get key projects off the ground, transform our nation, house the homeless, give to the poor, execute noble agenda, take on positions of leadership, or simply sacrifice so others can advance.
I’m currently building a database of Alphas. Soon their time will come. Until then, I’m desperately searching for Alphas.

  1. The alphas are indeed rare. A breed that is almost out of extinction . I’m compiling an Alpha list too.Sadly,at my age ,they’re almost non existent.I’ve met only one.I just love your articles. This is a great read, as always.Thank you so much….No bullsh*t.

  2. I fell in love with Subomi’s mind a long time ago and I am glad many more people can be blessed by her sheer ability and purity of heart.

  3. 3 Alphas from the write up and 1 from the comment section makes 4. Elijah felt like a lone Alpha in his time and voiced as much but God told him he is not the only one. Even in this seemingly pit of hopelessness, we are more than them. Alphas rule.
