The Cost of #FuelSubsidyScam to my Generation

The House of Representatives Committee recommended that N1, 067,040,456,171.31 be returned to the FG’s treasury. According to the Minister of Youth development, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi 28M of the 67M youths like me are unemployed let alone those that are underemployed, yet our leaders both in the private and public sector ganged up to rape our economy of immense financial wealth. While those corporate octopuses filtered away our ‘subsidy’ funds, their cronies in the public sector continued to release funds with little room for accountability. Government consciously created a loosed environment that brought about lazy and overnight billionaires with no room for employment opportunities for my generation.

Monies that should have helped develop (when we have a responsible government) our comatose education system that suffers from a dearth of quality lecturers, irrelevant curriculum and plagued by incessant unwarranted strikes, funds that should have been used for enterprise and capacity building of my generation so we can be self employed and further create employment ,resources that should have been used for industrial development and massive agrarian scheme to drive employment generation where stolen by a renegade and dangerously unpatriotic few.

Thus, what do we have today? High voltage crime and violence rate because the hopes of many young people have given way to despair, ambitions have given way to wishful thinking, enthusiasm taken over by frustration, passion swallowed by hate, patriotism is virtually extinct and goals reduced to mere frustrated trials.

Today, millions of young people roam the streets in search of a future that has been taken away from us by our rogue leaders.

If there is anything this probe has highlighted, it is the very fact that my nation is a #SCAM!!!

Yeah its really crazy…they make us believe they are channeling the funds T??????? other sectors in the economy, yet we can’t see what they are doing with it..!

  2. The leadership structure of our economy today, can be definitely likened to a stage where everyone desires to be an actor
I believe the fear of poverty is the compelling force that pushes our leaders to such an heavy rate of unhumanly embezzlement, depriving our ‘leaders of tomorrow’of their leadership

  3. annabel nnebeolise

Its just divine intervention ?•??????? need i?????n????? this nation.

  4. We need serious prayers in this country for dramatic and drastic positive change.

  5. We’ve always known about the scam, nigeria needs a change of leadership, and hopefully beta leaders this time.

  6. annabel nnebeolise

We have leaders who are not Futuristic in thought and approach…too bad.

  7. It is indeed terrible that a land richly blessed like Nigeria is languishing in poverty, all we need is a leader with vision and drive.

  8. Sometimes,i cant help but have this feeling that prayer will not solve our problems. We’ve been saying one particular prayer point(e go better) for too long time that its now become a course. The future of this country will continue to look bleak if we continue to worship or adopt the ‘sidon look’ attitude. I was particularly disappointed that the suicide bomber didnt succed in blowing up those rogues called senators. I would have been a bokoharamist if they were targeting these termites eating our treasury dry

@muffy: i really feel ur point on boko haram blowin d senators up. My own point of d view dat who eva found guilt of looting or fraudulent practices shud face death penalty by public firing squad.

  10. I pledge to NIGERIA MY COUNTRY……to defend her unity(there has2be war);and uphold her honour&Glory(probably vote wisely nxt time)…so help me GOD.

  11. @cristiano, u re right abt the So called National pledge…..this our Leaders to us to be a fool, nth is workin, as a youth u cant boast of having a gud life……d mata don tire me, infact i weak 4 d mata…!

  12. Ralu Onogomuho

Its well wit Nig. Lets pray it gets better

  13. Ahmad Tijjani Ado

This type of leaders should be gotten rid of in hot blood.

  14. We need change!!! i mean bloody change not nonsence fresh Air GOD BLESS nigeria

  15. The Nigerian youths shud understand that those socalled leaders only use them for votes and incite them against one another just like Boko haram. To help themselves they must get organised against those rogues called leaders just like the youths in Egypt and Syria.
