All through I knew Samuel Eto’o was the highest paid footballer but ESPN magazine has put out their latest survey, projecting Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan as the highest paid sportsman in Africa.

In the Money Issue Salary Survey project, ESPN used earnings based on information from multiple sources including leagues, agents, sports federations, cultural centres and the United Nations.
