President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the new World Bank President Jim Yong Kim to address the numerous issues of human development and poverty alleviation facing developing countries in general and Africa in particular.

He also restated the readiness of the Federal Government to continue to build on the existing cordial relationship and cooperation with the global institution.

Jonathan stated these Monday in his congratulatory message to Kim following his election as the World Bank President.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media, Reuben Abati, expressed the Jonathan’s appreciation for the support and encouragement given to Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
